Jordan- 16
Kate Brennan. Brain Kelton. Jordan had seen them as new enemies. Kelton was running for mayor. Brennan was supporting the bastard. The evil blonde wanted her father to support the bastard. As if that would happen. She knew they would be up to something to get her father or shut down intelligence. It wasn't the first time it happened, it most likely wouldn't be the last.
She was finally able to mourn the loss of Alvin, she couldn't keep the emotions in anymore. If anything she blamed Denny for Alvin being killed. She'd blame him till the end of time. He put her uncle in prison. He was murdered. It was his fault he died.
The teen had forced herself not to grieve her uncle, she didn't wanna relapse again. She was doing homework at his desk when two people came in taking the desk.
"No way in hell!" She yelled. "You're NOT taking this desk. Over my dead body"
"Jordan'' Hank warned his daughter from his doorway. "Enough"
"No way dad, they aren't taking Uncle Alvin's desk"
"The department is doing cutbacks, they have to take it" Trudy explained painfully.
"Screw the cut backs, they can take anything else but this desk"
"Kid we ain't got all day" One guy said.
She sat cross legged on the desk with a sharp look. "You're not taking this desk. The only way you'll get it is by moving me and you really wouldn't wanna touch me. Not in the mood I'm in"
"Jordan Lynn, I said that's enough. Get down or so help me" Hank warned again.
"No"
Before the teen knew it she was lifted off the desk by Jay and Adam. She fought their hold.
"Get off me! Put me down!"
The movers picked up the desk and moved. It was taking both detectives to hold back the sixteen-year-old.
"Hey! Put that desk down! Put it down! Jay get off me! Let me go Adam! Let go of me!"
Dropping off of Alvin's desk was his hat, Jordan was close to just breaking down. She had grieved for her uncle; she was in the anger stage of grief. And her temper had been bad as of late.
Kevin bent down and picked up the hat. "He left us his hat" He had hung it on the hook on the wall where his desk was.
Jordan had eventually collapsed against the two detectives. It was finally hitting her. Alvin was gone. Not coming back. The only thing that pretty much gave her hope and faith was his desk and that was ripped away.
She turned into Jay's chest and just cried, both of the detectives had held her for a few minutes. Hank had gone over to pick his daughter up. The teen was shaking from head to toe. Half from crying, half from nerves.
The teen tried to swing and hit something but eventually she wrapped her arms around her father's waist and she had let out all of the emotions she'd kept in from when Alvin died. It had physically hurt Hank to hear and see his daughter like this. If he could, he'd take all her pain away. He'd rather be suffering than her. What had scared the older father, he was terrified that his daughter may not only relapse again. She might try another suicide attempt.
At 16, Jordan had suffered a lot more pain than an average adult. Hank had nearly lost his daughter before. It won't happen again, not a chance in hell. When the others had seen the teen it broke their hearts it had taken a lot to get Jordan back up after her brother's death. She nearly relapsed when Lexie died. When Erin left it made the urges and cravings stronger. And with this now. They all feared Jordan would be close to another breakdown only worse.
"Shh it's alright, it's alright Jo Jo. I'm here. I got you" Hank soothed his daughter.
Every time she tried to say something, another sob came out. Hank just held his daughter tighter. Tears burned in his eyes. God what he wouldn't do to take her pain away. Anything to ease her pain.
"It's...it's not fair!" She cried.
"I know baby I know, I'm here I got you" Hank just held her tighter and protectively.
Eventually Jordan had fallen asleep against her father, her breathing was evening out. Dried tears stained her cheek, her hold on her father was tight. The teen was afraid if she had let go her father would disappear just like the others she had lost.
It had pained everyone to see the teen like that, they wanted to help her grieve Alvin but she had refused. She was scared if she did she'd hit rock bottom again and it wouldn't be pretty. She may not come back.
Carefully lifting her up Hank carried her to the lounge, he had carefully laid her on the couch and covered her up with his jacket. He softly brushed the loose hair back from her forehead. Just as the older father was getting up her hand shot out grabbing his.
"Shh it's alright Jo Jo, your ok sweet girl"
"Don't leave me daddy" She mumbled.
"I'm not going anywhere honey"
Jordan blindly moved from the couch to her father's arms, without hesitation Hank had wrapped his arms around his little girl. He moved to the couch as she slept soundly, he had kept her in a loose protective hold.
Brennan had walked into the squad to Hank's office, she saw it empty and went out. She looked into the lounge to see Hank with his daughter. She knocked on the door, looking over Hank saw her as carefully as he could. He laid his daughter down on the couch and covered her up. He left the lounge going to his office Kate had followed.
"Hank you have a case that needs to be solved, you can worry about your family life later" Kate told him.
"Excuse me? Kate, my daughter is in a bad way right now I'll solve the damn case but if my daughter needs me she comes first" Hank replied sharply.
"You had time off to be with her, your head needs to be here. This is election time Hank. Everything is at stake here"
"Do you have kids Kate?"
"What?"
"I said, do you have kids?"
"No I don't"
"Jordan has been through hell and back the past couple of years. Losing my son" He had to take a breath, even for him it was like opening an old wound. It still hurt. "It nearly killed both of us. I almost lost both my children. I worked hard to get Jordan to where she is. She worked hard to pull herself back together. Jordan is barely holding herself together right now. So if I need to stop what I'm doing in the middle of a case to tend to my daughter, I'm gonna do it. I almost lost her before I'll be damned if I do it again"
"Just make sure the case gets solved"
"I will"
Kate had left, Hank sighed. How could they expect him to be his daughter second? One vow Hank had always made, he was a father before a cop. The job came second. If his daughter needed him for anything, to talk, if she needed a shoulder to cry on, he would be at her side in a second. Screw what Brennan and the others said. His little girl would always come before anything and anyone especially the job.
A knock sounded at his door. It was Antonio. "We gotta roll"
Hank nodded, grabbing his gun and badge. He quickly went to check on his daughter who was asleep. He went to kiss her head and then left out with the others. Jordan had woken up and rubbed her eyes, getting up and stretching she left the lounge the squad was empty which meant the team and her father were in the field.
The teen left to use the bathroom and when she came back to see Brain Kelton in the squad, she viciously glared at him. She knew all about Kelton, the sixteen-year-old had a gut feeling if this asswipe was elected mayor, the intelligence team would be disbanded and separated. Jordan had lost enough of her family, she'll be damned if she loses anymore.
Brain Kelton had seen the teen and knew he had some kind of leverage should Hank even begin to step out of line. He knew Hank Voight would be hard to keep in line at times, one way to keep him in line. His daughter. And everyone knew it. He casually walked over.
"Jordan right?" He asked.
"Don't pretend you don't know who I am. That kinda irritates me. Everyone knows who I am. It's no big secret" She replied bluntly.
"Sound just like your father"
"I act like him too"
"What are you doing spending time here?"
"Because I can. I've been coming here since I was a kid"
"You're bold and confident. I like that in a person"
"Had a lot of time to grow like that. My dad's not here"
"I can tell. I could use a person like you Jordan. Strong, brave, bold, confident, outspoken"
Jordan couldn't help but chuckle dryly. "Is that what you guys are calling it now? Let me guess, you want me to be your eyes and ears to spy on my dad for you. One, you're not the first person to try that with me. Been there, done that. Two, I'm not spying on my father for no one so get that through your thick skull right now. My dad is the only parent I've got and I'm NOT losing him. Three, I'm not a dumb naive little kid anymore. There's nothing and believe me when I say nothing any of you can do to me that already hasn't been done. I'm not scared of assholes like you, people like you come to me or use me to get to my dad. You're not the first most likely won't be the last. I'm not helping anyone take my father from me, I've lost far too many people. My father will NOT be the next person I lose. Over my cold dead rotting body. It's not happening. So you can take that offer and shove it so far up your ass you choke on it"
"I don't think you wanna make an enemy out of me"
Again the teen chuckled dryly. "That's rich. You think you're the first one? Buddy I've been dealing with people like you since I was a kid. I've been fighting since I was a kid. What just because you're running for mayor that makes you special? What can you throw at me that nobody hasn't? Been in jail, been blackmailed, kidnapped, held hostage, I watched a guy get killed, I almost died. So tell me what can you do that nobody hasn't tried? Humor me"
The fire burned heavily in Jordan's brown eyes, nobody and she meant nobody was gonna take her father from her. Not as long as she was around. As many times as she would be told to stay out of things for her safety and protection, Jordan was never one to back down from a fight and she wasn't about to start now. Not a chance in hell.
Kate had gone back to see if Hank had come back, when she had seen Brain and Jordan nose to nose she had to intervene before something happened and a big problem would stir up with Hank. The blonde had gone over to defuse the situation.
"Alright you two let's cool off" Kate says, trying to break it up.
"Why don't you tell your lap dog to get the hell out of my district" Jordan said sharply.
The two raised their eyes. "Your district?"
"My father's district. Don't let the door knock you on your ass when you leave" The teen looked to Kelton. She then looked between the two. "Don't you two even start by doing anything against my dad because I'll tell ya everyone who's tried has failed miserably. One lost their job or got reassigned whichever. Two others went to jail. What are you two gonna be when you fail? Ya'll may think I'm a dumb kid. I'm not dumb and I'm not a kid I haven't been since I was 14. I grew up a whole hell of a lot the last couple of years. My dad does everything he can to protect me, now I'm gonna protect him. Now before I lose my cool get out of my district"
"You realize you started a war right" Brain spoke, his voice hard and stern.
"Wouldn't be the first one I've been in. Probably won't be the last" Her voice just as hard and strong. "Now I say again get out of my district"
For Kate and Brain to be adults that had sent chills down their backs, she had sounded just like her father. They wouldn't admit it but it had actually scared them a bit. Anyone who knew Jordan, they knew she was a miniature version of her father. Temper and all. Her death stare had even looked like him. It sent even more chills down their backs. They wouldn't be intimidated by a child. Especially Hank Voight's daughter. The two adults left when they got outside Brain looked to Kate with a hard look.
"Something needs to be done with her" Brain told Kate.
"Have you lost your damn mind? Are you trying to lose the elections? Not to mention I'm trying to get Voight on our side. Your side. If you even attempt to go after his daughter he'll reign down hell on you and everything you worked for will be gone" Kate replied sharply.
"I know you'll think of something. I don't care what you do or how you do it. Jordan Voight will be no more"
"You're starting a very dangerous war here Brain"
"And I plan to win. I'll win the election and the war. And when I win, my first act as mayor. Disbanding the intelligence unit"
Little did they know Jordan followed but kept her distance, she managed to get close enough to hear what they were saying. She was right. Kelton was going to disband Intelligence. Not on her watch.
"You want a war asshole. You got one. Nobody screws with my family"
The teen slipped back inside, she was gonna be 10 steps ahead of them the whole time. No matter what dirt they had on her. She'd get more on them. She had just gotten out of a long and dangerous war with Denny Woods. She was now in one with Kate Brennan and Brain Kelton. If it was a war they wanted. A war they shall get.
