*This will be a series. Not sure how long. Will mention some from the show, the rest will be my own material. Someone from Jordan's past comes back as well. Read and enjoy!*
Jordan- 16
Ever since Kelton and Brennan were at the district and Kelton had the stand off with Jordan. Since that day Jordan had been planning anything and everything she could to get Kelton to back off her father and intelligence. If she lost her father she would hit rock bottom again and who knows if she'd make it back.
When she'd be at school she'd keep to herself and write in her notebook what she would do, almost like a list. A loud bell rang ending the school day Jordan put her coat on and swung her backpack over her shoulder and walked out. The winter air was harsh. The sixteen-year-old had bundled up when she got outside. When she got outside Kelton was there.
"I'll tell ya, you got a lot of balls old man. What the hell do you want?" Jordan asked blunty.
"I was hoping we could talk," Kelton replied.
"Why the hell would I wanna talk to you?
"I was hoping to clear the air"
"Yeah, heard that before. Not interested"
"You're a bright girl, very smart"
"I know. I'm also 16 not stupid. You honestly think you're the only one who's tried to use me to get to my dad. Get in line ya old ball sack. You ain't the first, you probably won't be the last. I've been through this game so many times. There's nothing you can do to me that nobody hasn't tried. So tell me what can you do that nobody hasn't done to me. I've been in jail, drugged, assaulted, beaten, hell I was almost raped, been kidnapped. What can you do to me"
"I'll be around Jordan"
"And I'll be ready now piss off before I hit you"
He sent a glare at her and then stalked off, the sixteen year old scoffed. She wasn't scared. Hell she wasn't scared of Denny anymore when he showed back up. The young Voight wouldn't let anyone hurt her father or take her family away. Not on her watch.
"That was very impressive. You've gotten a lot stronger and bolder" Came another voice. It was a man's voice.
Jordan thought it was one of Kelton's brainless dipshits when she turned she stood frozen in her place. She couldn't believe her eyes.
"J-Josh?" She spoke completely stunned.
Josh Carter, her mother's brother. Her uncle was back in Chicago? How? When? She shook her head as if she were dreaming.
"God I can't believe how much you look like your mother" Josh told his niece.
"W-what are you doing here? When did you even get back?"
"Came back yesterday. I wanted to get settled before I saw you"
"What do you want?"
"Why don't we go somewhere and get some coffee"
"I guess that be alright, let me text my dad"
"How is your dad?"
Jordan typed a quick text to her father telling him she was meeting someone for coffee. She didn't say Josh's name or else Hank may not like it.
"He's fine. Still works at the district"
"How's your brother, Justin?"
The teen felt her heart drop a bit, her brother was still a very touchy at times she didn't blame Josh for asking he didn't know. Josh saw the frown on his niece's face. That had gotten him concerned.
"Jo?"
"Justin he uh..he died two years ago"
"God I'm so sorry"
"Let's go get that coffee"
They had gone to the nearest coffee shop and ordered coffee, Jordan wasn't one for a lot of caffeine only when she needed it. She ordered hot chocolate while Josh got coffee. The two sat at the table.
Josh couldn't believe how much his young niece resembled his sister, it was almost like looking at his sister. Jordan had a bagel and tore some off taking a bite. She hadn't seen her uncle since she was 8. This could end up being interesting to see what his intentions would be.
"How have you been Jo?" Josh asked, breaking the silence and awkwardness between them.
"Been alright I guess. Can't complain" Jordan replied.
"I'm sorry to hear about your brother had I known I'd have been here"
"Not your fault you didn't know"
"If I may ask, what happened"
"He was murdered. He was shot in the back of the head. He uh he ended up on life support. He wasn't gonna wake up, remember us, anything. Olive, Justin's wife, couldn't make the decision she asked my dad. My dad pulled him off he knew Justin wouldn't wanna be like that. I held my brother's hand the whole time. Before I knew it he was gone"
She hadn't talked about the day her brother died to anyone, it was a day she never wanted to talk about. She was too scared she'd trigger another relapse. It was the first time in two years she was able to talk about it.
By the time Jordan was finished Josh was shocked, he felt tears in his eyes. He had felt bad for his young niece and Hank. As much as he and Hank stepped on each other's toes in the past he still considered them family. If he were to be honest they were all he had. His parents and only sister were gone. All he had was Hank and his kids. They were his family.
"I'm so sorry that happened Jo"
"It wasn't your fault"
"Did your father catch the guy?"
"Oh yeah he did. He'll never see the light of day where he is"
"Who was the guy at your school?"
"Another old bastard trying to get to my dad. They really don't bother me as much anymore"
"Why's he after your dad?"
"Why is everyone? I'm use to it"
Josh saw the look in his niece's eye, she had the same look Anna got when she was up to something or planning something.
"You're up to something aren't you?"
"Don't know what you mean"
"You got the same look you're mother got when she was up to something. What are you up to?"
"Let's just say he'll regret the day he crossed a Voight"
"Jo, whatever you're thinking, don't do it. Let you're father handle it"
"I have to protect my dad, someone has to. Even if it's me"
"I don't want you getting involved. I don't want you getting hurt"
"It won't matter, I've been hurt before won't be the last time"
"Jo please I mean it, stay out of it"
"You know I can't do that"
The man had sighed, she had both her parents' stubbornness more so from Hank. He glanced at her. "Your not doing this alone"
"I work alone"
"Not this time"
The sixteen-year-old had shot her uncle a raised eye. "And who's gonna help me?"
"I will"
"You wanna help me scheme? That could be kinda fun I guess"
"I let you and your father down once I won't do it again"
"I appreciate that. Josh I gotta ask, why are you back? I haven't seen you in 8 years"
"I was mixed up in a lot of bad stuff. I had to leave Chicago until it settled down. I had already lost my parents and your mother. I didn't want anything happening to you because of me. I wouldn't have been able to live with myself. I was trying to get my life straightened out for you so my stuff wouldn't come on you"
"I really appreciate that Josh. I do. It means a lot.
"I really wanna be a part of your life Jo. I know I screwed up a lot and that's my fault. I wanna make things right"
"I'd really like that. You never hated my dad did you?"
"No. I just always thought he was dangerous but he's an excellent father you turned out great"
"Can't say I turned out great but I did alright"
"You're a good kid"
"When I wanna be" She had given a chuckle.
Josh had given a chuckle as well, Jordan saw it was getting late and she had to go. Josh had walked her out. When the two were outside Jordan was being watched not only by one of Kelton's men but by Adam and Kevin.
The two were shocked with seeing their boss's daughter with a grown man they never seen before and one Jordan has never mentioned. It had taken all of their strength not to go over there and interrogate him.
"Should we tell Voight?" Kevin asked, glancing at his friend.
"I wanna say yes but we should also give Jo the chance to explain. She seems like she knows him. She doesn't feel like she's being threatened or forced to do anything" Adam replied, returning the look.
When they looked back Jordan and the man were gone, they quickly felt their hearts drop. Just like that they lost their boss's daughter.
"Why the hell are you two following me?" Jordan asked from behind them.
The two jumped and saw Jordan her arms folded across her chest and a firm glare, they didn't know why but whenever Jordan got a certain look she looked so much like her father.
"How the hell did you do that? You were over there" Adam answers.
"Don't worry about what I know. Did my dad send you to find me?"
"He asked us to pick you up because it was getting late. Now answer this for us, who the guy you were with? Is he a boyfriend?"
"Gross. Adam, Kev, just leave it alone. The guy is harmless"
"You can tell us or we can tell you're father" Kevin tried this time.
Jordan shot him a look. "You wouldn't"
"Try us"
"You don't breathe a word of this to my dad. First he's not my boyfriend. He's my uncle. His name is Josh Carter"
"As in.." Adam trailed off not wanting to upset her.
"My mom's brother"
"Why don't you want your dad to know?" Kevin asked.
"Long story. I have a quick call to make, I'll be right back"
Jordan had walked away from the two detectives. They had gotten in the car to wait for the sixteen-year-old. Jordan had pulled her phone out acting as if she had to take a call when she was out of view she put her phone had found Kelton's guy.
The young guy, Mason, had a camera and took pictures. Just as he turned he was face to face with the young Voight. She had a vicious glare on her face. Mason wasn't sure why but he was shaking there was always something about Jordan that reminded people of Hank.
"You the asshole following me? I know a tail when I see one" Jordan spat.
"I..I don't know what you mean" He stammered, lying his ass off.
The teen snatched the camera and saw the pictures. She had put a fake smile on her face. "These aren't half bad"
"Really?"
"Yeah"
Then with all the force she could she threw the camera down on the ground smashing it and even stomped on it. She then looked at him. "Next time it'll be your face"
Mason just nodded nervously, before Jordan left she kneed Mason in the groin hard as he fell to his knees. The sixteen-year-old just bent down and forcefully grabbed the front of his shirt.
"Stay the hell away from me and stay away from my dad, understood"
He gave a weak nod, Jordan then picked up the smashed camera and the pieces and left leaving Mason on the ground. She had gone back to Adam and Kevin as they drove back to the district. She wouldn't dare tell them about the tail watching her. They'd go back and tell her father. Then like with Denny, he'd tell her to stay out of it.
Not this time, hell not anytime. Her father has always given his life to protect her. Now she's going to do the same for him. Until her last breath, no matter how old she is.
Meanwhile
Josh was walking and then Kelton had come out stopping him. Josh glared at this asshole, he was starting something with his niece and he wasn't about to stand for it. Not for one second. He knew good and well Hank could take care of and defend himself. He also knew his niece could defend herself as well but he didn't want her doing it.
"Who the hell are you?" Josh asked.
"I'm Brain Kelton. And we could be partners"
