Jordan- 15
It has been a year since Justin's death, her miscarriage, and since Jordan got clean, after her smoking stunt Hank had made it clear, one she wasn't to be alone until she earned back his trust and two, she had to find something else to help the urges. She had started snacking a lot more.
She ate anything she could get her hands on chips, cookies, crackers, anything. Being she was still on punishment if she went to the district she'd make sure to stock up to keep her good until her father took her home for dinner.
One afternoon she was at the district doing homework, the team minus Adam was out. Adam was on babysitting duty, he didn't mind it. Jordan was like his little sister. They were partners in crime. He was checking some files for the case, he often glanced at Jordan who was working on homework.
It was almost 6 and the team wasn't back yet, Jordan was tired and she wanted to go home. Rubbing her tired brown eyes she gathered her stuff and put it away. The teen swung her backpack on her shoulder and walked out the lounge. Adam finally looked over.
"You alright kiddo?" Adam asked, concerned.
"Yeah, just tired. Not feeling all that great" She replied, rubbing her eyes.
"You want me to take you home?"
"Do I have much of a choice?"
"Not really"
"After you Boy Wonder"
He chuckled and went ahead of her. She grinned and jumped on his back. It made him chuckle more.
"Really kid?"
"I'm innocent"
"If you say so"
"I am innocent"
Hank had come up and got out, he smiled slightly seeing his daughter. He went over to his daughter and officer.
"You drop her Ruzek, I drop you" Hank half joked, half warned.
"I promise she's in good hands with me boss"Adam assured him.
"She better" He then looked at his daughter. "You behave, listen to Adam. I'll be home as soon as I can"
"I promise dad" Jordan says to her father.
"That's my girl" He kissed her head.
She blushed. "Dad, I'm not a little girl anymore"
"You'll always be my little girl"
Adam had left with his boss's daughter, Jordan had just been feeling mentally exhausted lately. Between school, her meetings, therapy and controlling her old cravings. She felt burnt out. She buried herself in anything and everything to avoid her craving urges. After her smoking stunt her father had made sure to never leave her alone until she earned his trust back.
In a way she didn't blame him she had gone back to her lying sneaking ways. But on the other hand she was tired of getting treated like a child. As Adam drove, she leaned back in the seat humming to herself. The young officer looked at her.
"You all good kiddo?" Adam asked her.
"Yeah just burnt out from the day. Between school, meetings, therapy. I just feel so tired" Jordan says softly.
"Why don't you take a couple days to just rest? You need it"
"I'd rather not Adam. I still don't fully trust myself to be alone"
"I don't mind staying"
"You guys are busy, I don't wanna pull you away from it"
"Jo, you are more important than any job"
"You really don't mind?"
"Not at all my little partner in crime"
"Ain't nothing little about me" She chuckled.
The young officer chuckled. After a drive they had gotten to Voight's house, Jordan set her stuff down and went to the kitchen to start cooking. Adam stepped out to make a quick call. Turning her phone on and playing her music the teen got to work cooking, when Adam had gone back he saw her going all over the kitchen getting ingredients and cooking.
"I didn't know you can cook Jo"
"I have many talents you guys don't know. I can get out a pair of handcuffs"
"You cannot"
"Wanna test that theory?"
"And have your dad kill me? I rather not"
"Adam, my dad may seem intimidating but he's just a soft teddy bear"
"Yeah to you, not us"
"You have a point"
"Whatcha making anyway? Smells amazing"
"Chicken alfredo"
"Looks great"
"My dad taught me how to cook"
"He taught you well"
"He taught me plenty well"
"That he did"
"Wanna try the sauce?"
"Absolutely"
She grabbed a spoon gathering some sauce in it and she passed it to him, he tasted it and gave it back to her.
"Damn darlin, that's great. Are you sure you're a kid and not a chef?"
"Positive"
"You have grown up a lot in the past year. You're so grown, so mature"
"You think so?"
"I know so"
"By the way you got a spider on your shoulder"
"What the.." He looked trying to brush it off frantically jumping around.
Jordan laughed. "Every time"
"It's gonna be on kiddo"
"Bring it"
Soon enough the food was done and Jordan served it, she put some in a bowl for her and Adam. She put her father some in the microwave should he want it when he gets home. The rest went in the fridge.
As Jordan and Adam ate they talked and joked, laughing. Adam had noticed Jordan eating a lot more than usual.
"Kiddo, I'm worried about you"
"You are? I'm fine Adam"
"Kid, you're eating a lot more than usual, it's not good for you. You could make yourself sick, you could end up gaining weight"
When Adam went on, Jordan drowned him out; she hadn't realized she'd been eating that much. She had already been feeling less trusting of herself. The teen had completely zoned Adam out thinking about what he said. Maybe he stopped liking the way he saw her.
"Jo, honey you alright?" Adam shook her.
She had snapped out of her thoughts. "Huh? Yeah. Just a long day"
"You should go rest, I got the kitchen"
"No I got it"
"Kid, I got it. You need the rest"
"Thanks Adam"
He kissed her head and sent her upstairs, she quickly ran upstairs to the bathroom locking the door. She stood in front of the mirror looking at herself, she'd always been small and she hadn't known what Adam was talking about. In her mind she did look slightly heavy but not by very much.
A thought had popped in her mind quickly she pulled her hair into a ponytail, she got on the floor next to the toilet she put two fingers in her mouth and tried to force them down her throat making herself gag. Before she knew it she had thrown up in the toilet, emptying all the current contents of her stomach.
After she finished feeling better, she rinsed her mouth out and went to her room. Changing out of her school clothes she tossed them to the side and grabbed some pajamas changing into them, it consisted of her brother's shirt and some shorts. She had pretty much kept all her brother's clothes and stuff he kept at home and nobody touched it except her and Hank.
As she plugged her phone in she laid down as soon as her head hit the pillow she was out like a light. Adam was finished in the kitchen, he took a quick call from Hank. Once everything was cleaned and put away he went to check on the young teen. He got upstairs and went to her room, Jordan had been sound asleep hugging her blanket close, it also belonged to her brother. He smiled and went in to fix it as some of it hung off the bed. When the teen felt movement she slightly jumped and grabbed the person's wrist.
"Jo, easy sweetheart, it's just me. I came to check on you" Adam said gently. "It's alright, go back to sleep"
Letting go of his wrist she had fallen back to sleep, Adam had gone back downstairs the front door was opening just as he was about to pull his gun he relaxed seeing it was his boss. Hank walked in to see his officer.
"Hey boss" Adam greeted him.
"Adam, how's Jo?" Hank replies.
"She's good. Asleep. Poor kid's worn out"
"I appreciate you being there for her Adam"
"No problem Sarge"
Adam had gone home for the night while Hank went to go check on his daughter. When he got there he went to her bed sitting on it gently, Jordan had been whimpering in her sleep. A distraught look on her face.
"Shh it's alright Jo Jo, you're alright. You're safe baby" Hank soothed her. "Nobody's gonna hurt you"
She calmed as soon as she heard the soft yet gruff voice that belonged to her father. She blindly opened her eyes. "Dad?"
"Shh go back to sleep honey"
She got comfortable and tucked herself back under the blankets, Hank smiled and brushed the loose hair back from her face. He had gone to his room for the night. The next morning Hank didn't wake his daughter up for school, Adam had been right she was exhausted. She needed sleep.
He called her school saying she wouldn't be in for a couple of days, he made her a quick breakfast and wrapped it up putting it in the microwave. Before he left he went to go see his daughter. Jordan had still been fast asleep tucked under her blanket. Smiling softly the older father went and fixed the blanket, she didn't stir. He kissed her head.
"Get some rest sweet girl, I'll check on you later" He whispered.
Quietly he left her room and locked up the house heading to the district. Jordan woke up about an hour and a half later and she blinked till her vision cleared, reaching over and grabbed her phone to check the time she just about jumped when she had seen the time. She calmed down after seeing a text from her father.
-Called your school you're gonna take a couple days off to rest. Breakfast is in the microwave. Set up the coffee machine for you. Gonna be in the field today. Adam is going to stay with you. Love you sweet girl.
A smile appeared on her face. She put her phone in her pocket and went to the bathroom. After she finished she went downstairs as she skipped down the steps there was a knock on the front door, thinking it was Adam she went to answer when she opened it a scowl appeared on her face.
"What in the HELL do YOU want?" She snapped.
"Well it's good to see you too Jordan" Came a man's voice. It was Denny.
"Do me a favor go burn in hell and never come back"
"Ouch. And I thought we were friends"
She let out a harsh laugh. "We will never be friends. Now get the hell off my front porch before I knock you off it"
"Temper temper. You always did take after your father" Denny loved antagonizing the teen. "It make me wonder something"
"I wonder how you're a shitface asshole"
"You act like your father and so you must get your looks from your mother. Anna right"
Before Jordan knew what happened anger and rage filled her body as she roughly grabbed him, a vicious glare on her face. "Don't you ever talk about my mom again. If she or my brother crosses your mouth again, I'll reach down and rip your vocal cords out and strangle you with them"
"You don't scare me little girl"
"That's your worst mistake. You should always fear a Voight. Now get the hell out before I throw you out and don't think I won't"
"Until next time"
"How about until you burn in hell"
"I'll meet you there"
"Leave before I throw you out"
He forced her hands off his shirt and he fixed it leaving. Jordan slammed the door and she had begun calming down. She went to the kitchen to start eating and made coffee. The teen soon sat down to eat and drink her coffee, she had taken a deep inhale of the hot liquid and let it out as she drank some.
After she ate she went to the bathroom and did what she did the previous night, she forced her fingers down her throat making herself gag and vomit. Her throat was raw and her stomach tightened as the vomit came up, after she finished she got up and rinsed her mouth out to get rid of the foul taste in her mouth.
She spit the water out in the sink when she heard the door again she went and got her brother's old baseball bat and went downstairs.
"I told your ass to leave before I throw you" She opened the door to see Adam. "Adam. Hey"
"Hey, who are you talking about?" He raised an eye.
"It's nobody. Don't worry about it. Come in, I made some coffee if you want any"
"Sure. Now who were you talking about?"
"Don't worry about it. I got it taken care of"
"Jo"
"Adam. We know each other's names again"
"Still got that sense of humor I see" He chuckled.
"Yup"
"How do you feel now that you got some rest?"
"A little better. I guess I was burying myself in everything to keep busy"
"It's not good for you Jo. You're gonna burn yourself out quicker"
"I never thought of that, I just want these damn urges to go away"
She felt her hands shaking. Adam pulled her in for a hug, her lip wobbled. She never thought it would be this hard.
"You'll be alright kiddo. You're gonna be ok"
"I didn't think it be this hard"
"Unfortunately life is hard"
"Nobody ever did say life was easy, hell life is far from easy" she was still shaking. "Can you bring them back Adam? My mom, Justin.." Her lip wobbled. "My baby"
He hugged her tighter. "I would if I could, darlin. I would if I could"
He never thought someone could have so much emotional pain, Jordan suffered a lot at a young age losing so much and so many. Jordan was falling asleep against Adam, he gently lifted her up and took her to her room.
She had fallen asleep, she had again slept for a while. Adam couldn't leave her side he was afraid if he did she'd be gone. After a couple of hours she had woken up, Adam was asleep by her side.
She shook him. "Adam, wake up"
He muttered softly under his breath, rolling her eyes. Jordan got up and went behind him.
"Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail!" She shouted in his ear.
The young officer jumped out of his sleep as Jordan laughed. "Gets you every time"
He laughed himself as he calmed down. "When'd you get up?"
"Just now"
"Are you hungry?" He saw his phone and saw it was in the early to late afternoon.
Jordan had another thought. She would also cut down on eating, skipping a meal or two shouldn't hurt. And maybe Adam would like it too. Maybe everyone would she thought. This could be a chance to recreate herself.
"Actually my dad made a huge breakfast for me earlier, I'm good. If you're hungry I can see what we have"
"Jo, what I said. I hope you know I didn't mean anything by it. I just don't want you to get sick or anything. I'm just looking out for you"
"I know and you do a great job" She hopped on his back. "Let's go"
"Go where?"
"Binge-a-thon"
"And what are we binging on this fine day"
"Power Rangers"
He chuckled. "What are you ten?"
"Hey, do you know how many times I've dreamed of being a ranger. It's bad ass and.." She stopped herself.
"You watched it with your brother" He realized seeing the sad look on her face.
"It was one of our favorite things to watch on Saturday mornings. When I was a kid, after we watched it, we'd go in the backyard and play. I was the ranger and he was the villain. He always let me win"
"Whatever you wanna watch we will"
"As long as you know, Tommy is the most bad ass ranger ever. He was just about every color, he started out as green then white, red and black. He's a legend"
"He had been one of my favorites"
She chuckled. "Were such geeks in our own way"
"That we are kiddo"
They went down and Jordan put it on, the two watched the show like a football game. The two were so caught up in it they hadn't known Hank walked in.
"What are you two doing?" Hank asked, a small smile.
"Binge-a-thon," Jordan smiled.
Adam had left leaving the father and daughter alone, Jordan had gone to heat her father up some food. She decided to eat something small so he wouldn't suspect anything.
"How was your day sweetheart?"
"Pretty good. I slept in some, got some rest, hung out with Adam" She was leaving out the part about Denny. Her father would raise all kinds of hell about that.
"I'm glad you're doing better sweetheart" He put some hair behind her ear.
When Jordan got clean and sober, the father and daughter were repairing their relationship, more so Jordan was trying to make up with her father. It made their relationship closer but she couldn't help but hide some stuff from him because of her fears.
Hank saw the little food on her plate. "You already ate sweetheart?"
"Yeah. Just had a lot for lunch before Adam got here. Don't wanna over do it"
That had gotten him a little concerned. He knew she had been struggling a lot with everything. He didn't want her slipping or doing anything else. Jordan saw the look on her father's face and went to hug him.
"I promise I'm fine dad, it's nothing. If anything were bothering me I'd tell you. I'm still working on all of it"
"Just as long as you're ok that's all that matters to me"
"I'm ok dad, I promise"
He kissed her head, the father and daughter went about eating dinner. Jordan had to play this very carefully so she wouldn't get busted. Hank had decided to turn in early, he and the team had a bust in the morning. Once her father was out of sight she went to the bathroom that wasn't far from the kitchen and did the same thing. Gagging herself and vomiting.
Soon Jordan had stopped eating altogether, she'd eat in front of her father but go to the bathroom to vomit it back up. She'd been losing weight and almost fast. The young teen had recently started feeling weak with no energy, she had put it off and thought nothing of it.
One day she had been at the district, she had little to no energy. Her shirt looked almost like a dress on her. Jordan hadn't eaten in days, her stomach growled loudly she wanted to give in and eat but refused. Hailey had gone into the lounge for coffee when she saw the teen. She and Jordan still hadn't been on the best of terms since Erin's departure.
Hailey knew what depression looked like. And she saw it in her boss's daughter. "You ok kid?"
"I'm good. Just another long day" She played with a fake smile.
"You don't look so good"
"Hailey, I'm fine. Just please. Drop it"
Jordan had been hiding more of her depression, it had been coming up on when she miscarried her daughter. She'd been on edge and trying to do everything to block out the pain and not cave into her urges. She'd been snippy with just about everyone but a few.
The teen stood up and got dizzy for a moment, she grabbed the table to keep her balance. Blinking, she tried to clear her vision. Hailey went over and put a hand on her shoulder to help, if it was one thing Jordan hated, it was being touched when she was angry. Shoving off her hand Jordan grabbed her bag and headed for the door.
"Jordan, don't make me tell your father" Hailey warned her.
"You wouldn't and besides tell him what? I'm fine just because I'm tired and.." She got dizzy again as she grabbed the door to keep herself steady. "Not in the mood to..to talk doesn't mean….anything..wrong. You...don't know anything...about me and I..don't know anything….about you...other than..the fact that you...stole Erin's place...now if you don't mind, I'm going home"
As Jordan turned Jay was at the door she tried to stay back some but eventually she fell some and Jay caught her. When his hands caught her midsection area, he frowned when he could feel her ribs. What the hell?
"Jordy" Jay started off gently, he had been the only other person to call her that after Jordan approved it. "We need to get you to the hospital"
"No" Jordan tried to say with force. "I'm fine"
She grabbed a jacket that belonged to her brother and put it on, zipping it up, that made both partners raise an eye at that. It was nearly 70 degrees and she was wearing a heavy jacket. Something was very wrong here.
Forcing her way past Jay she went to the bathroom, gripping the sink she tried to maintain her balance. She turned the water on and threw some cold water on her face. She thought maybe that would help grabbing some paper towels to dry her face. Looking up, she saw that she was losing some color in her skin. It almost looked like a yellowish color. She didn't think anything of it.
Taking the ponytails on her wrist she quickly threw her brown hair up in a ponytail when she brought her hand down she saw some of her hair in her fingers. Her hair was falling out.
She hadn't had a chance to react as Trudy came in and she shoved her hand in her pocket. Trudy saw her goddaughter.
"Hey sweetie," Trudy said.
"Hi, Aunt Trudy," Jordan said with a smile.
"You don't look so good, you ok?"
"I'm good. Just a long day"
Before Trudy could say another word Jordan had left out rather quickly. She hid on the side of the building. Her stomach kept growling loudly.
The teen is ready to give in but she won't. She refused. Using what energy she did have she managed to walk to the bus stop, get on the bus and go home.
Once home she just put her stuff down and went to her room. She was drained as she fell right to sleep.
Hank was deeply worried about his daughter. She was hiding something again. He was afraid she had slipped into her old habits. There weren't any signs of that that he saw. But it definitely was something.
When he went home that night he checked all over to try and find anything. No drugs. No booze that wasn't his own. Everything was where it was.
What had his daughter been hiding again? He went to her room to check on her. Jordan was fast asleep, she had two heavy blankets on her. That raised something in Hank's head.
Could his daughter have been sick and she didn't want him to worry? Softly he places his hand on her forehead. She felt cold to the touch. He pulled his hand back when she stirred.
"Dad?"
"Shh just sleep you're alright"
She had fallen back to sleep. Something was going on with his daughter and Hank was going to find out.
Before Jordan knew it, it was the anniversary of when she lost her daughter. She wasn't going to school, she'd rather not be around people and snap on them.
She just laid in bed half the morning. Hank called and texted to check up on her. When she got out of bed she went to the kitchen, she kept ignoring the loud growling that came from her stomach.
Her stomach hurts greatly, she was so close to just caving but she wouldn't. She could handle it. The teen put on coffee and went to get some water. She chugged about half of it. She had regretted it insistently.
Thankfully she managed to get to the sink as she threw up, her throat was becoming raw. Her stomach tightened making it hurt worse. The vomit left a very sour and bitter taste in her mouth.
Quickly she rinsed her mouth out, her breathing had been a tad heavy. The teen suddenly got hit with a wave of dizziness. Jordan tried shaking it off.
Once the coffee was ready and she regained herself and her balance she got the coffee and some water going outside to the back yard. Carefully she sat down in the chair looking at the wooden cross she made that was carved.
Someone had been walking in the yard coming from the front. It was no other than Denny.
"I had a feeling you'd be here" Denny spoke.
"Go away. Not in the mood today" She spat viciously.
"I heard about your daughter-" Before he could finish she cut him off.
"WHAT is it that you want? Pick any other day and time to antagonize me just not today"
"I bet she would have been like you. A little trouble maker"
That had done it for Jordan, using what strength she had she got up fast and got hit with a wave of dizziness but stood her ground.
"Do not ever talk about my daughter again...next time…I'll… I'll…"
She had ended up collapsing and landing on the ground. As much as Denny wanted to leave her there and have her suffer he didn't. He picked her up carrying her to his car.
He drove her to Med, he managed to get there in just about 20 minutes while taking his sweet time. He picked her up again, rushing her inside.
"I need help!" Denny called.
Will and Connor ran over Denny and passed the teen off, it had gotten the two doctors concerned when Jordan weighed almost little to nothing. The teen was laid on the bed and when they rolled up her shirt Jordan had lost a lot more of her weight and they saw her ribs. The two doctors started working on the teen and giving the nurses orders and told them what to hook the teen up to.
Denny went to call Hank, he was waiting when the two doctors came out minutes later after working on getting Jordan hooked up to fluids, bags of nutrients, and meds.
"How is she?" Denny asked, showing fake concern for the young Voight.
"For the moment we got her stable. Who are you to Jordan exactly?" Will asked.
"I'm her father's former partner. I went to check on her"
"If you hadn't brought her in when you did, things wouldn't look so good" Connor spoke.
Will had kept eyeing him, there was something he didn't like about Denny. Could he have been the reason Jordan passed out? He excused himself and went to call Jay. After a little while Connor had gone to check on her.
Jordan had been responding well to the fluids and bags of nutrients, she was slowly coming around. She blinked her eyes and her vision had been blurry but eventually cleared up. She saw Connor next to her looking her over, she had frowned. She was indeed busted on so many levels.
"C-C-Connor" Jordan says weakly, her throat was dry.
The trauma surgeon looked to see her awake, he gave a small smile. "There's the little warrior. You gave us quite a scare"
"I never thought it go this far"
"Jordan, starving yourself like this can make you incredibly sick. It did make you sick"
"It wasn't just not eating. I..I'd been forcing myself to puke after I ate. Eventually I just stopped eating"
"Sweetheart that's very dangerous, why would you do that?"
"I needed something to stop the urges and cravings to use and drink. I started eating and snacking a lot, Adam said I shouldn't eat a lot. I could end up gaining weight. So I started the puking and not eating, I didn't think he'd want a friend that was ya know...big"
"Hey, we all come in different shapes and sizes. I'm sure he wouldn't care if you were big, tall, thin, whatever. He would want you to be you. Don't change yourself for anyone. Nobody is worth changing who you are. Who you are Jordan is what makes you a special person and nobody can make you change"
He wiped a tear away from her eye as she looked. "I guess with what he said and just feeling so depressed, stressed, it seemed like an outlet. It took away the urges and cravings"
"If you want, I can page Dr. Charles down so you can talk. I know it's been a while since you had a session"
"Maybe later. How did I get here exactly?"
"Someone brought you in, he said he was your father's former partner"
Her eyes went wide a little. Denny had saved her life? Now he would hang this over her head. Connor saw the look in her eyes and got curious.
"You alright kiddo?"
She shook it off. "Yeah. I hadn't seen him since I was a kid, I didn't think he remembered me"
"Do you wanna see him? Your dad and the others are on their way"
"Sure" This was going to be very interesting. "Thanks Connor"
"Anytime kiddo"
He ruffled her hair a little and left going to get Denny, when Jordan saw that she was hooked up to an IV and nutrient bags she got slightly worried but knew it wouldn't harm her. The door opened and Denny walked in closing the door behind.
"Why'd you save me? You could have left me to die. Let me suffer, instead you saved me. Why. What do you want?" Jordan asked, getting to the point.
"What makes you think I want anything?" Denny replied.
She snorted. "Because you're you and I ain't dumb nor stupid"
"I watched a kid dying in front of me. I'm not that cruel or cold hearted to let a kid die"
"Yeah right. You want something, you always did. You still do. I already told you, I'm not spying on my dad for you, get that out of your head. I'm not that naive little kid you can blackmail anymore"
"Blackmail is such an ugly word to use"
"If I wasn't hooked up to all this shit, I'd punch you in the face"
"I saved your life. You owe me"
"I owe you an ass kicking" She motioned her finger at him to come towards her.
He went over to her when he got close enough she grabbed his shirt and pulled him closer. A vicious look in her eye, her strength slowly returning.
"I remember what you said about my daughter. Let's get a couple things straight, one, if you ever mention my daughter or say anything about her again. If she, my brother or my mother crosses your tongue again, I'll rip your tongue clean out of your head and shove it down your throat. Two, I don't owe you shit. As far as I'm concerned we're even. Now piss off"
She shoved him back and he fixed his shirt and tie with a glare on his face, soon the door opened and Hank rushed in worried he didn't bother asking why Denny was there. He cared more about his daughter. Denny left the room and the hospital, he didn't wanna be badgered with questions. The rest of intelligence had gathered into her room.
"I'm sorry dad" Jordan said, leaning her head into his chest.
"Are you alright?" Hank asked worriedly.
"I'm going to be"
Jordan had confessed everything she had been doing the past few weeks to her father and the others. The older father felt his heart ache with pain, he wished he could take all of his daughter's pain. He'd rather suffer than have her deal with it. Adam felt his heart sink. He didn't think Jordan took what he said seriously.
"I...I thought maybe...if I changed. You'd guys like me better" Jordan said nervously.
"We like you regardless of how you look," Antonio told her softly.
"We don't care how you look, you're family," Jay added.
"And we always will be always" Kevin went on.
"You're beautiful the way you are and you always will be," Kim said.
The young teen smiled. "Thanks guys"
She saw Adam was dead quiet and she knew he was feeling guilty. Glancing up she looked at her father.
"Say dad, why don't you guys go get some coffee and bring back some food. I wanna talk to Adam about something"
"Alright, whatcha want to eat?"
"I'm not going to be picky whatever you get is fine"
He smiled and kissed her head, the team minus Adam left. Jordan looked at him.
"It's not your fault Adam. I took what you said out of context, that's all" Jordan told him.
"I didn't think you'd take what I said seriously. I didn't mean it" He said, his voice full of guilt and sadness.
"You can come sit by me, I'm not gonna go anywhere not with these attached to me"
He went and sat next to her keeping his head down. She reached over and brought his head up so he could see her.
"I'm fine Adam, I came back from worse. I'm coming back from this. I just thought you wanted me to change, you didn't like the way I looked. Hell, I didn't like the way I looked. I was trying to change for you, me"
"I never wanted you to change. You kiddo are my partner in crime, I wouldn't change anything about you. You're one of my best friends, don't change for me or anyone. You're perfect just the way you are my little partner in crime"
She smiled and held her arms out to him. "Careful of the wires"
He smiled and hugged her. "I love you Jo"
"I love you too bro"
"If I say anything like that again, come to me about it. Don't hide it. And please never ever again do this"
"I won't believe me never again"
"Attagirl"
"I am sorry for this, I took what you had said out of context and everything piled on top. Part of me felt it helped but it didn't really. I was skin and bones. I almost looked like a freaking lemon. My hair was falling out. I had little to no energy. It did more harm and I hadn't seen it. I was trying to do something, anything to control the urges and in an oddly enough way. It sorta helped"
"Promise me, never again. Never do something to put your body and health at risk"
