Jordan- 15
Adam was coming to with a groan, his vision was blurry. He managed to make out a figure across from him; it was a girl with brown hair. She was wearing the clothes Jordan had been wearing. Unless. No. It was Jordan. She was unconscious. When he tried to move he couldn't. He was tied to a chair. The air in the room was damp, it had an odor. Whatever it was it stank to high hell. He didn't know what it was nor did he want to.
Jordan had begun coming to her head hurt, her head felt as if it weighed a ton. She opened her eyes and her vision was blurry. She blinked a few times till it had cleared.
"A...Adam….Adam?" Her voice was weak.
"Jo? Thank god you're alright" Adam said relieved.
"What the hell happened? Where are we?"
"I don't know but I'm going to get us out of here"
"Why does it feel like we're in one of those crappy horror movies?"
"Kid so not the time"
Her fingers tried to go down and reach her knife in her pocket. The rope had dug into her skin, rubbing them raw she had ignored the pain she had far worse than this. The tips of her fingers grabbed the knife. It had taken her a few minutes to fiddle with it till the blade finally opened and she started to cut the thick brown rope.
"Kid, what are you doing?" Adam looked at her.
"Trying..to cut this...damn rope"
"What the hell are you using?"
"Pocket knife. I always have one in my pocket"
"Should I ask?"
"Probably not. I think...I almost" She bit her tongue and lip trying to concentrate. "Got it" She cut the rope freeing her sore wrists.
Cutting the restraints on her ankle she ran over to Adam freeing him from his restraints. Once the young officer had been freed he pulled the teen in for a hug, Jordan hugged him with all her might. The teen refused to show it but she was scared, she and Adam had been kidnapped and taken to god knows where.
"Adam, I wanna go home"
"It's alright sweetheart. I gotcha. I won't let anything happen to you"
"I want my dad"
Adam felt his heart breaking, even though Jordan had put on the thick skin and tough attitude that was so much like her father she was still a kid. A scared kid who got caught up in something she shouldn't have.
"It's all gonna be fine kiddo, I won't let anything happen to you. I promise"
"We don't even know where we are"
"Jo, I need you to calm down and relax"
The teen had taken some deep breaths and began to calm down, Adam had taken her hand and kept her behind him as they went to the front door of the cabin they were currently in. Very carefully and cautiously he reached for the door knob and turned it slowly. Peeking his head out he looked into the dark woods and saw they were definitely in the woods.
Taking very careful steps the two went out, Adam making sure to keep a hold of his boss's daughter. Nothing was going to happen to her with him around. Jordan tried to keep the thick skin tough act but very slowly it had been breaking. She and Adam were in the middle of the woods in the pitch dark, not knowing who took them or why.
"Adam, maybe it's best you go get help. I'll stay here" The teen suggested.
"Are you crazy? No way you're staying with me" Adam protested.
"One of us has a better chance of getting help. It can be me or you. What else do you suggest?"
"Jordan we don't know where we are or anything. I'm not letting anything happen to you. You may say you'll be fine by yourself I'm not risking it"
The two moved slowly and carefully through the woods, it had been dead quiet. The full moon shining brightly from the nighttime sky. If Adam had to guess the bastard that took them was the killer the team had been searching for. His MO was taking his victims to the woods and leaving them for dead. That wasn't about to be himself and it damn sure wasn't about to be Jordan.
While
The remaining members of intelligence had kept searching for their suspect but no signs yet. Hank had tried to call his daughter to see how she was doing. When it had gone straight to voicemail that had worried him, maybe she was asleep and her phone died he thought to himself.
He then had to think about that, no way his daughter would let her phone die. The kid would put it on the charger even at it being 50 percent. He was getting a very bad feeling from this. He then tried to call Adam and it was the same as when he called his daughter. It had gone straight to voicemail. No way in hell had this been a coincidence. Something was up. Without a word Hank left the squad going to go check his house.
The others had looked confused; they had wanted to go after their boss but couldn't. They had a serial killer on the loose; they couldn't take time away from the case unless it was very important.
Hank just about sped through the streets with his lights and sirens on going to his house. When he had gotten there he rushed out of the car and to the yard, when he saw the front door just about cracked open he was getting a very bad feeling. He pulled his gun and flashlight going slowly and cautiously inside. The house was dead quiet. So quiet he could hear a pin drop. The only thing he could probably hear is his heart pounding in his chest. He felt it pound against his ribs and chest, his throat going dry. Fear, anxiety, and worry all bubbling in his stomach.
As he searched he had heard a creaking noise and turned where he heard it. "Chicago PD! Jordan, Ruzek, if that's you call out"
Silence. There was no response.
By this point the hairs on Hank's neck were standing up, something was definitely wrong. Before he could react someone had come up behind him bashing him over the head knocking him out dragging him out the back door. The man had drove off with an unconscious Hank in the back.
Meanwhile
Still in the woods, Jordan and Adam kept working their way in the dark woods. They saw nothing but darkness and trees. They had been running for what seemed like hours, their legs burned and ached. Their lungs were burning as they were trying to catch their breath but they didn't wanna risk stopping. Adam wasn't going to let anything happen to his boss's daughter. He could give a rats ass about what happens to him. Jordan was more important.
As the two ran Jordan had tripped and twisted her ankle falling on her right side. "Shit!"
That had made the young officer stop running and look back. "Jordan!" He ran back to her side. "Sweetheart, are you ok?"
"I…Owww! My ankle" She gasped, she brought her hand to her side. She had fallen on her ribs. "Dammit this hurts. Adam you gotta go on without me"
"Not a chance in hell"
"You have a better chance at getting help. I'll stay here"
"I'm not leaving you Jordan. That's not an option"
"Yes, it is now go!"
"Jordan-"
"Dammit Adam go! You're the only one of us who can"
Jordan hadn't meant to snap at Adam, the pain was too great for Jordan to bear. It hurt like a bitch. The slightest movement on her ankle caused her to scream which had taken some of her breath when she landed on her ribs.
Without a word Adam picked her up bridal style, being careful of her side and her ribs. Jordan whimpered as she wrapped her arms loosely around his neck, the teen glanced up at the officer.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you. The pain it hurts"
"It's not your fault. Let's get going"
"Adam, promise me. When we're found, no matter how much pain I'm in no pain meds. None"
"Honey, it'll be fine as long as it's monitored you'll be fine"
"No. I can't, I'm not strong enough"
"Jo, you're one of the strongest people I know"
Before Jordan could say something, she had seen someone creeping up behind Adam. Suddenly a needle had pierced through Adam's neck first and the officer collapsed. The teen had attempted to fight but suffered the same fate as Adam. A needle was pierced through her neck and she blacked out.
The mysterious figure had begun dragging their unconscious bodies through the woods. Once he had them in the cabin he had tied them up he looked at Jordan and Adam then finally looked at an unconscious Hank. An evil grin appeared on is face.
"Play time has just begun"
