"FUDGE!" Aace shouted before one of the cans smacked him in the face.
"Oh, hey, Aace!" Mina yelled from across the street, coming to check on her new friend.
The result was the half dozen bottles beaning Aace in the skull. He groaned in pain as he looked at Mina who smiled at him.
This caused him to blush and look to the side while climbing to his feet.
"Hi, Mina… Ow." Aace said, muttering the last part while rubbing at his skull. "I was trying to practice my quirk." Aace stated and let out a sigh.
"Oh, so your trying to nail the targets?" Mina asked while cocking her head. Aace finished rubbing at his head and looked at Mina.
He had decided to set up targets for himself to hit with soda bottles…. Made out of old dartboards taped to the fence.
Between the stomach ache he was having, the split headache, and his embarrassment of Mina seeing him mess up? Aace was starting to reconsider the training today.
"Yes." Aace said while checking his head for damage. "I don't get points for clonking myself, though." Aace joked before letting out a sigh.
It was enough for Mina to laugh, however, which was enough to make Aace smile.
'Least looking stupid is good for something.' Aace thought as he tried focusing again.
"So, no throwing cars?" Mina asked, rocking on her heels while Aace let out a hum of amusement.
"Very funny." Aace said while trying to pick up more soda cans. "But my dad said my quirk was messing up. I really couldn't control it a few days ago since I just awakened it." Aace explained and looked at his hands over and over.
It helped that he was learning little items like soda cans were easy to lift… Just not to throw, it also took a LOT of concentration to lift them.
"Oh." Mina said while looking to the side and letting out a hum. "Sounds like fun, though." Mina said while flicking some of her acid at the target.
Aace watched as the target started to sizzle and bubble. It then started to fall apart, melting apart.
"So, when you meant acid…." Aace started to say to Mina who simply nodded and hummed.
Mina watched as the target collapsed to the ground. Aace hummed before using his quirk to pick up 2 bottles.
"Wow…" Aace stated before he cracked his knuckles, he flicked his hand at the target. His bottle flew past the target which caused Aace to sigh with annoyance.
"Damn it, this is harder than I thought it would be." Aace said while clutching his fist.
Mina watched the other bottle crunch itself as Aace threw it with his quirk. He managed to at least nick the edge of the target on this try.
"You know nobody expects you to be that skilled with your quirk." Mina said before Aace looked at her. Mina started to rub her fingers together to get more acid. "Right away, I mean. How long has it been since we last talked?" Mina asked as Aace hummed and looked down at his arms.
"I don't know." Aace said while giving a half-hearted shrug. "Maybe 2 or 3 days." Aace said as he cracked his neck with a wince.
"So, you think you're going to maser your quirk in a few days?" Mina questioned, already knowing Aace wouldn't respond with a 'yes'.
"I still wish I didn't hit myself in the head over and over." Aace stated with a sigh as he crossed his arms. "I think I'm sure of the weakness of my quirk, though." Aace added while brushing off his coat.
"Hmm?" Mina hummed out while Aace turned to her and blinked.
"1. I cannot seem to pick up anything large yet." Aace said while pointing at a car. "Tried picking up that rusted, old car? Aace questioned before falling to the ground.
"Knocked myself out. Dad said I almost broke my arm." Aace said as he let out a sigh and shook his head. "2? Picking up dozens of things at once? That will strain my brain and give me a headache. 6 seems to be the max limit at the moment." Aace added while Mina nodded.
"So, you found the limits of your quirk?" Mina questioned Aace who hummed and nodded. "You've been practicing all day, haven't you?" Mina asked in a deadpan tone while looking at Aace.
"No…" Aace said, looking to the side while humming. "Why do you ask?" Aace questioned Mina who narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms.
Mina could see sweat on Aace's brow; she could also see the slight bags under his eyes. Aace had been up maybe a few hours at night.
"Dude, you suck at lying." Mina said and rolled her eyes as Aace's eyes widened in shock. "I can see the sweat from you concentrating." Mina added while Aace rubbed at his chin and sigh.
Aace dabbed at the sweat on his head before humming.
"Here, let me help with your quirk." Mina said while trying to get more acid from her hands. "Just don't lie." Mina stated and Aace hummed and nodded with amusement.
Aace raised his hands which sent the cans into the sky.
"I'm starting to hate this quirk." Aace muttered as cans started to rain down on the duo.
Mina let out a laugh before rolling her eyes in amusement at this.

Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out Aace is going to UA next chapter or enrolling alongside Mina. I also want to point out some of the laws are changed in the story. Next chapter will be in a week and will show Mina and Aace enrolling to UA. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
