Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Contaminated Crusaders. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own MHA Shonen Jump, Kohei Horikoshi and a few others do.
"So, you got an envelope in the mail as well!?" Aace almost bellowed over the phone. He looked at the mail while his parents chuckled.
His parents knew about his friendship to Mina. The duo had met up to exchange phone numbers during one of their talks.
Both had started discussed enrolling in the school and met up to train. The city dialed back on restricting quirk training, but did put up rules on it.
"Yeah, you got yours!?" Mina yelled back. Aace's parents laughed again, Mina was loud enough to hear over the phone.
"Yeah." Aace stated while he lowered his voice. "I just got the envelope in the mail. We still meeting up at 3 to practice our quirks again? I can postpone it if you want to." Aace asked while his friend giggle and let out a hum.
"What? And miss the chance to kick your sorry butt?" Mina asked as she walked around her house. "Fat chance, Aace." Mina said with a smile. She could almost FEEL the amusement from Aace over the phone.
"Funny." Aace stated before brushing off his shirt. "You got your quirk WAY before I did. You know I'm getting better at Magnet Magic." Aace added as he let out a sigh at the name of his quirk.
"Geez, take a joke, Accy." Mina said before leaning on the wall. "I'll text you after I open this thing. I think we're be on the phone WAY too long if we don't get to opening them." Mina said while her finger inched close to the disconnect button.
Mina pressed it and was treated to silence before she turned and walked to the envelope.
(With Aace)
Aace ripped open the envelope while his parents walked over towards the sofa.
"You've spent a lot of time with that Mina girl since you and her have met." Aace heard from his mother while trying to rip open the envelope. "I remember how nervous you were giving her your phone number a few days ago." Aace's mother added while he blushed.
"MOM!" Aace yelled while going red in the face. "SHE'S NOT ANYTHING LIKE THAT!" Aace bellowed in embarrassment before running up the stairs.
Ace didn't hear his parents snicker. His mother knew Aace was shy around new people. It didn't help that he was very shy around Mina at times.
"Ugh, she's so ridiculous." Aace muttered to himself while closing the door behind him. He sighed and put his phone on his bed. "Seriously, I'm going to be 16 in less then a year. She still babies me at times." Aace said with a knowing smirk. He knew his parents loved him. It didn't make him any less embarrassed around them.
Aace opened the envelope before throwing the wrapper in the garbage. Aace hummed and started to read over the letter.
Aace heard his phone buzz and hummed. Aace felt a grin split his lips as he put the phone on his computer desk. Aace grabbed the phone and started to type on it as he gazed over the document.
"I GOT IN!" Mina had typed as Aace chuckled with amusement before typing back.
"Yeah, so did I… Starts in a few months, we got time to practice." Aace typed back while he sat on his bed. It didn't take long for him to get 3 texts within 30 seconds.
"Yeah." Mina typed first. "But I'm still going to whoop your butt." Mina added while Aace laughed. "Which class did you get?" Mina finished her talk with as Aace tried to respond.
"Class 1-A, why?" Aace typed back while brushing off his shirt. Aace made a note on his phone to ask for new clothes… Or to get a better washer.
"OH! I GOT THE SAME THING!" Mina typed back, Aace rolled his eyes.
'Figures. Did she just smash the caps key or something?' Aace mentally thought before starting to type back.
"Meet back up at the court at 5?" Aace typed in while waiting for a response.
The 'Court', as Mina and Aace referred to it as? Was one of the old basketball courts around the city. They were allowed to train since the court was about to be demolished in the summer. That gave them at least a year to train and practice on.
"Yep! You're getting your butt kicked by 5:10." Mina responded which caused Aace to hum and just give a 'meh, see you then.'
Aace put his phone down and leaned on the bedrest for the day. He had time to rest before going up to meet Mina.
Both had to make sure their quirks were somewhat under control before going to school.
"Man, this is going to be fun." Aace muttered to himself before trying to make his soda fly to his hand.
It smacked him in the head. Aace grunted in pain.
Author Notes
Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out that Mina and Aace are going to get closer slowly. Next chapter will be in a week or 2 and will show Mina and Aace training their quirks more and showing off their friendship. Until then, Lighting Wolf out! Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: Dust might take a bit to update. Rumi is probably my next story… And this story might be delayed a bit due to computer glitches. Next chapter is 1200 words.
