*Continuation of my version for 4x13*
Jordan- 14
Jordan left the stairwell and Jay sighed, then pulled his phone out and called Hank. "Sarge, we have a problem. A big one"
"You get her outta there, NOW!" Came Hank's strong, gruff voice.
The young detective pulled his phone away from his ear momentarily after hearing his boss going off. He sounded so much louder on the phone.
"I'm gonna try but it will be hard without blowing my cover"
"You just get her out of there and back to me"
"I understand"
He hung up and put his phone back into his pocket. "Well this is gonna be hard to do"
A short time later Erin and Kevin had been dispatched out to Brady because of the missing girl, Sam. Hank had told them if Jay couldn't get Jordan out, they were gonna do it. As many times as Erin saw her father figure angry over the years, this was a new one.
The bells had suddenly gone off about a fight in the cafeteria, Erin and Kevin looked at each other and knew someone had been lying their ass off. Before they left they had tried to go find Jordan hopefully to get her out.
Jordan was walking around lost deep in thought, she was trying to get a feel of the place. It did seem like an all-girl institute of some sort. They had school and classes, therapy, and meds for some of the girls. She shivered at that. Ever since getting clean and staying clean, she wouldn't look at any kind of meds, not even an aspirin. She walked to a nearby bathroom unknown to her, Erin followed her in after finally finding her.
The teen had taken a few deep breaths while gripping the sink till her knuckles turned white. The staff had suggested trying her on meds but Jordan completely refused, she was scared it would make her relapse. The suggestion made her stomach turn, she went to the bathroom to clear her mind and hope her stomach would settle.
Hearing someone come in she didn't give them a glance but a short response. "I'll be out in a minute"
"Or you can come with Kevin and I right now because your father is going out of his mind about you," Erin told her.
Hearing her sister's voice Jordan had just about jumped. "What the hell Erin? Are you trying to give me a heart attack?"
"No, but you nearly gave your father one this morning. What in the world were you thinking? You scared your father and us half to death looking for you and you put yourself in the middle of a police investigation"
"I'm just trying to help, I figured I'd be the best one to get the information you guys need. Besides had things been different a few years ago I could have ended up here"
"Jordy, you're a kid. Not an adult let alone a cop. This is extremely dangerous and risky. If something happened to you, your dad wouldn't forgive himself" She went and put a hand on her shoulder. Looking closely at her sister she saw the dark circles under her eyes. "You're still not sleeping are you?"
The teen quickly wiped her eyes of the burning tears before she got too emotional. "I gotta go" She moved past Erin.
"Jordy-"
"I'll be fine. I can take care of myself" After that she left the bathroom.
A few minutes later Erin left and went to find Kevin, Kevin waited patiently and saw his partner come back. "You find Jo?"
She knew she'd be in so much trouble for this and deep down she hoped she wouldn't regret it. "No. I looked all over but nothing"
"Let's head back"
Erin followed her partner out and hoped this wouldn't come back to bite her in the ass but most likely it would.
Jay was in the middle of breaking up a fight in the cafeteria with all the girls, he had then brought one blonde girl, Ellie to a room. Ellie was screaming and punching the walls, he was trying to hold her in a bear hug and she consistently fought his hold.
This girl reminded him of Jordan when she was angry, trying to hold her until she was fully calm. Eventually, he had let her go and she pushed him against the wall and her hand made it to the top of his pants. The detective kept his hands up and away from her.
If Jordan had seen that she'd teach Ellie about messing with her family and Jay knew that would happen if she saw or found out.
"What are you doing?" Jay asked.
"Showing you how things-" Ellie started but was cut off by Jay.
"Okay. Stop. Stop that"
"Actually work around here"
Jay grabbed her hand. "Stop that"
The blonde girl gave him a look of lust and desire. "Girls around here can make you feel good. As long as you help"
"Help how?"
She started kissing his cheek and neck. "Find me and I'll show you"
A moment later Ellie was taken out of the room, right after she left Jay left out. The detective was very disturbed by this girl's actions. When he stepped out Jordan had seen him, they often called her a little ninja for sneaking up on them. Jordan knew something was wrong with him by the look on his face, she pulled him back into the room and closed the door.
"Jay, are you alright? What happened?" Jordan asked.
"Nothing happened. I'm fine and you're getting out of here by your father's orders" Jay told her.
"Did that girl do something to you?" She had completely ignored Jay's last comment.
"Jordan, leave it alone. You're not even supposed to be here"
"She did do something, she's done for"
Just as the young Voight turned and went for the door Jay pulled her back. What had been up with him and fighting with teenage girls today?
"You're not doing anything Jordan except getting out of here and going back to your dad before he has both of our heads"
"You may not be able to fight these girls back but I can and I will. She won't get away with anything she did"
"Jordan enough!" Jay raised his voice some, he hardly ever yelled at Jordan. That was her father's job, not his but Hank wasn't there he was. "First you're a child, you're not supposed to be here. You're supposed to be with your father. Second, if you do anything to blow my cover, this whole case goes down the toilet. Third, you're already in enough trouble, don't add any more to it, go home now. I'll make something up as to why you left"
"Screw you and your damn case" She shoved his hand off and left the room.
"Jordan!"
The teen didn't bother looking back, Jay stayed in the room and sighed. "Teenagers"
Jordan hadn't meant to snap at Jay, between not sleeping and controlling her urges she'd been snippy with just about everyone. She didn't think it would be this hard, she wanted something, anything to take these urges away. But she wouldn't throw her fresh sobriety down the toilet, she kept fighting them. And she always would.
Later that night after everyone had gone to bed and the facility was locked down, Jordan left her room and tried to find a way out. If there was one thing she was good at, it was sneaking out. She had heard voices and went to see, she saw what looked like one of the male guards and one of the teenage girls, she heard them talking quietly but couldn't make out what they were saying.
Before she got caught she went and picked the lock to the front door and walked out into the cold winter night. She began the walk home as she trudged through the snow and ice. By the time she got home she was cold to the touch, her face was a pink reddish color from the intense cold.
Hearing his front door open Hank rushed to see his daughter, he was extremely worried about his daughter. Just as he was about to go off on her for sneaking out and inserting herself in a police investigation, he saw the dead emotionless look in her eyes, her eyes half-open. Her body was shaking from the cold.
The older father went to his daughter. "Jo Jo?"
Jordan slowly turned her head to her father and walked into his embrace, without a word Hank wrapped his daughter in his arms and held her.
"We'll talk about this later, go up and take a shower, get warmed up, and get some sleep. You need it"
"I just wanted to help," She muttered. "I didn't wanna feel useless again"
"What? Sweetheart, you could never be useless" He pulled her back and brushed some hair behind her ear.
"With Justin, if I had gone with him that day maybe he... Maybe he'd be alive. Or in the hospital, I could have done something. Anything to help him and I...I couldn't" She choked up. "I couldn't help him and he's…he's gone"
Jordan buried her face in her father's shoulder and sobbed softly, Hank felt his daughter's pain. He wished he could have done anything to save his son and he couldn't, they were both still trying to come to terms with it.
Hank hadn't wanted to get into that subject being it was late, Jordan had gone up and stood in a hot shower to warm up her ice-cold body. The teen just stood in the shower emotionless letting the hot water hit her skin. After her shower, she changed into some pajamas and went to her brother's old room. Laying on the bed she covered up with the comforter she grabbed a picture off his nightstand and held it close, her eyes drooping closed but she fought to stay awake but she couldn't fight for long before her body gave out and her eyes closed against her will and she fell asleep.
At the door Hank was watching, it broke his heart that his daughter was struggling. He didn't know how to help her and it was slowly killing him. He wasn't going to lose her, he was going to make damn sure of that.
The next morning before Hank went to work he checked in on his daughter, Jordan was still asleep. This was probably the first time in months she had slept through the night he walked over and kissed her head fixing the blanket. Normally Jordan was a heavy sleeper, when her father was fixing the blanket she was about to grab his hand when he stopped her.
"Hey, it's just me, sweetheart" Hank told her.
"Dad? What time is it?" Jordan asked, her voice still heavy with sleep as she rubbed her eyes.
"Just after 9"
"I slept in too long"
"You needed the sleep. You need sleep"
"Dad, I'm fine. I gotta head back to Brady"
"Jordan you're not going back"
"I'm onto something. I need a little more time"
"I said no"
"I have to do this. I need to do this"
Jordan went and changed then grabbed her phone, just as she was heading out her father grabbed hold of her arm. "You're coming with me to the district and there will be no buts"
The teen just nodded not in the mood to fight, even after sleeping all night she was still exhausted. Once the father and daughter were in the car Hank steered off into the street, Jordan felt her eyes closing again. Car rides always put her to sleep no matter how long they were.
Soon the father and daughter arrived and went inside, when they were going to the squad Jordan saw her surrogate uncle and went to hop on his back.
"Hi, Uncle Kenny" The teen smiled.
The detective glanced and saw his young niece. "There's my favorite niece. How ya doin kid"
"Same old"
"Jo, wait in my office and close the door, no eavesdropping" Hank told his daughter.
The teen did as her father told her. Everyone was gathered at their desks, Jay sitting on the edge of his desk and speaking first.
"The way this girl Ellie approached me, this is standard practice. I think their trading in sexual favors"
"Trading for what?" Kevin asked.
This time Alvin spoke. "Could be stat drugs"
"Yeah, Sam's tox screen showed she had benzodiazepine in her system. It's the kind of thing you would find inside of Brady" Kim continued.
"These girls could also be trading for access out" Erin added. "Sam was signed in at 7 am so somebody is covering for her"
"Ok so let's build a background on every employee" Hank spoke.
"If it helps, I did see something as I escaped last night," Jordan says, from her father's office door.
The older man looked at his daughter. "What'd you see?"
"I saw one of the male guards and one of the girls. They were talking quietly. I couldn't fully make out what they were saying but from where I was it looked like a deal was going on" Jordan had gone to her father. "Dad, I can do this. I can help Jay get whatever information he needs. I told you this. I can get you more, besides I already sorta established a cover"
Hank scratched his eyebrow. "No. This is way too dangerous for you. I'm not getting you involved"
"I'm already involved dad. I can't just leave"
"You can and you will. You're not going back and that's final"
"I need some air" She walked past her father and outside of the district.
"Jordan. Jordan Lynn" Hank went after her. By the time he got outside, she was nowhere to be found. "This girl is gonna be the death of me"
Hank had gone in trying to get a trace on his daughter but couldn't. His daughter was a lot more intelligent than he gave her credit for. Jay went to his boss knowing where Jordan would be at.
"I'll watch after her Sarge you have my word"
"You bring her back now"
"Understood"
Jordan had made her way back to Brady and walked in as if nothing ever happened, one of the guards had seen her come in.
"Lynn, where the hell have you been?"
"I went for a walk, that alright with you? You're not my father nor my boss so back off"
Just as she walked past him he grabbed her arm, if there was one thing Jordan hated. It was being touched. After nearly being sexually assaulted once before, she hated being touched by any male figure she didn't know. In a flash she turned, grabbing his arm and twisting his arm behind his back, holding it there tightly.
"Do not ever touch me again. Do it again and I snap your arm like a damn twig" She snarled.
"Lynn! Lynn get off him" Came Jay's voice. He went behind Jordan and whispered in her ear. "It's alright Jordan, let him go"
The teen shoved him away. "Don't ever touch me again or next time nobody'll stop me from breaking it"
Before the guard could say anything Jay ushered her away someplace private, they went to a stairwell and quickly looked before talking. Jordan crossed her arms and sat on the step.
"I didn't need saving but thanks. I guess" Jordan spoke.
"Jo, you need to go back to your father now," Jay told her firmly.
"I need to stay here and help"
"Jo you nearly took that guy's arm off"
"He shouldn't have touched me"
The detective pinched the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes for a moment. "You're so damn stubborn. Just like your father"
"It took you this long to realize it?" She teased. "Well I'm off Ryan"
She had gone around and left the room, one of the girls watched her. A few minutes later Jay left so it wouldn't seem awkward. He was following the one girl, Ellie. Jordan wasn't that far from him and watched him, mainly she was watching the blonde girl.
"Ellie, you gotta go up top for meds" Jay told her.
"It's not 4 yet," Ellie told him slightly confused.
"That's what they told me"
Jay had brought her to an empty classroom and Jordan stayed outside listening. Undercover or not, nobody messes with her family with her around and gets away with it.
In the classroom, Jay and Ellie made sure the door was closed and they couldn't get interrupted.
"Okay so um tell me how all this works" Jay started.
"I'll do whatever you want, as long as I get what I need" Ellie replied, holding some books to her chest.
"And what's that?"
"Train ticket out of Chicago"
"To where?"
"Los Angeles"
"You can't leave Brady"
"I'll take care of it"
"How you gonna do that?"
"It doesn't matter"
"Well am I part of that 'doesn't matter? Because I'm not gonna break you out"
"It's a yes or no"
"Yeah"
Ellie put her books down and moved towards Jay, as she was about to put her hands on him he stopped her. "Not here"
"Forget it you're a waste of time"
"Look, look. I want you so bad. I really do. But I probably got my boss or one of the other girls outside that door. It's my second day of work. I really don't wanna get fired. If it's all the same to you"
Ellie let out a chuckle. "Your boss, Vince? Or that new girl you follow around like a damn puppy, Lynn? What do you see in her? I can give you more than what she can. I can be a lot better than her. As for Vince, he would be fine with whatever happens in here"
Jay had to bite his tongue on the comments about Jordan. That girl was like his sister, he could never in his life see her that way. But he kept a straight face. Ellie left the room as Jordan was there.
"Ellie right?" Jordan asked.
"Yeah. You must be Lynn right" Ellie replied back.
"Yes. I'm only saying this one time and one time only. Keep away from Ryan"
"Or what?"
Jordan had balled her hand into a fist wanting to connect it to the girl's face. "Just stay away from him or I'll turn you into a jigsaw puzzle that the doctors won't be able to get you out of"
"I'd like to see you try, bitch"
"Why you little.." Just as she was about to throw the punch an arm pulled her back.
"I don't think so, Lynn," Jay told her, as he pulled her back. "Stop it now"
Ellie smirked and walked away. Jay held the young Voight until she was calm. "Are you good now?"
"Get off me" Jordan struggled.
"I will once you relax"
"I'm fine, now get the hell off me"
Jay had let her go. "You can't just be starting fights and threatening people"
"I told her she needs to back the hell off you, she's the one who called me a bitch"
"Ok first, language. Second, I'm supposed to be getting close to her. It's my job"
"And it's my job to protect you"
Before the conversation went further Jordan turned and left, Jay had a feeling she was slowly peeling back like an onion. Soon they'd be able to get as to why she's acting the way she is. She didn't get far when another one of the doors opened and a girl came out.
Another girl with dark hair and tan skin came out of one of the other classes, she saw Jay and spoke. "Have fun?"
"Excuse me?"
"You know you should really be careful who sees you screwing the residents. People might get the wrong idea and talk"
Jordan had started going after her as she turned and walked away, Jay had once again held his arm out stopping her. "Jordan enough. Now"
"Either of them does anything to you. I'll turn them into jigsaw puzzles"
Jordan broke free from his hold and followed the dark-haired girl. "Hey. Hey. Wait up"
The girl, Tonya turned and looked back. "New girl. Lynn right"
"That's me"
"What do you want?"
"Back off Ryan and leave him alone. Or next time you will answer to me"
"Is that so? You here what, two days and already you're screwing him? Must be one hell of a record"
Anger and fury bubbled up inside Jordan, just the thought of her and Jay together made her stomach turn. He was like her older brother. The one crush she had on him when she was 12 was nothing and got cleared up. Since then he became like her brother and she protected her family.
"I'm not screwing Ryan. Just stay away from him or else"
"Or else what?"
In the blink of an eye she grabbed and twisted Tonya's arm behind her back, she twisted and added a lot of pressure. "Don't think for a second I won't do it. I'll break you. Leave Ryan alone or I start with your arm"
"You're gonna pay for this you stupid bitch"
The teen added more pressure to the twisted arm. "I'd watch what you call me, one move and I snap your arm"
Tonya shoved her back making Jordan release the hold. The girl's arm was sore now. "Game on now bitch"
"Just know in the end, I'll win. I always do"
Jordan pushed past her and Tonya smirked. "We'll see about that"
A short time later all the girls were in the cafeteria eating, Jay had gone to his "boss" about getting caught by Tonya. When Jordan walked by, Vince had a grin on his face. Jay saw it and anger bubbled inside of him. If any of these sick bastards touched Jordan, it would be their last day on earth.
"That one is feisty. Lucky for me I like feisty"
"Leave Lynn alone man. She's mine too" Jay's voice held a firm tone to it.
"Soon enough she'll be mine"
Before his anger got the best of him Jay walked away and went to Jordan. "Lynn let's go"
"What the hell for?"
"Meds. Let's go"
Jay quickly dragged her out and brought her to an empty classroom. Jordan smacked his hand off her. "What the hell man?"
"Jo, listen to me. Has anyone tried anything on you?"
"If you mean the girls, not a chance. As for the guards, the next one that looks at me like they want me, I'll gouge out their damn eyes"
"So Michael he didn't.." He hoped and prayed nobody had touched her, that was the last thing that she needed to happen during her recovery.
"No. Hell no"
He let out a sigh of relief. "If anyone does, tell me. I'll take care of them"
"Same goes for you. I already got that bitch, Tonya"
At that Jay raised his eye. "You what?"
"Damn it's time for me to go"
Jordan skipped out of the room as Jay just sighed. The day passed quickly and soon it was nearly time for bed and all the adults were doing bed checks. Jay was walking around, he had found Ellie's room.
She was making a move on him and he stopped her, he then noticed a fresh cut on her chin area.
"Who did this?"
"I fell. It was an accident"
"No, it wasn't. Just tell me what happened. You tell me what happened and I can go report it. Because whatever this is, it's not okay"
"Who the hell thought I said it was okay? Get out of my room"
After a few minutes, Jay had left the room, while he went back to searching he heard a loud commotion.
"I told you if you touched me again I'd break your goddamn arm!"
A moment later there was a loud scream that came from a man, Jay ran to it. He knew the voice. It was Jordan if someone touched her. Jordan was standing over Michael who was on the floor screaming in pain holding his arm.
Jay bent to his level and up at Jordan. "What did you do?"
"I broke his arm, I told him not to touch me. He came at me reaching for my shirt. I grabbed his arm and broke it" Jordan said coldly. "I told him the first time if he touched me again I'd break his arm and I did"
Jay wanted to be mad at Jordan but he couldn't, he'd have done the same thing. He helped the guy off the floor and Jordan went into the room and closed the door. Jay took the guy to the infirmary once that was done he went back to check on the young Voight.
Jordan was sitting on the bed, her legs brought up to her chest and her arms wrapped tightly around herself as if she was shielding and protecting herself. Jay entered the room quietly and softly closed the door. He made his way to sit on the bed next to her.
"Are you alright?" Jay asked softly.
"I told him not to touch me" Jordan mumbled, tears prickling in her eyes. "When he went for my shirt, I...I thought of what Damien did. I couldn't fight him off because he drugged me. So when he reached for my shirt.."
"You fought back because you were able to this time. This is exactly why I don't want you here. These guys know how to hurt these girls and make them believe it's ok, they're abusing their trust and manipulating the system. You of all people know it's never ok to do that. Besides, had you not broken that guy's arm I probably would have. Nobody messes with my sister and gets away with it"
Moving from her spot she went and hugged Jay, wrapping her arms around him tightly. Sniffing back tears, she may not have her father there to hold and comfort her but she has one of the best brothers she could ask for. Jay simply wrapped his arms around her and held her protectively, he gave her a brotherly kiss on her head and brushed her hair back.
"I'll always be here to protect you. No matter what"
