Aace hummed and looked over at Mina as the duo walked towards the school. Aace turned to Mina.
"Nervous?" Aace questioned his friend and smiled. "I'm nervous." Aace stated while Mina blinked and returned the smile.
"Maybe a little," Mina responded as both looked forward, there was going to be a new class coming every day. "But that's part of the fun, isn't it?" Mina asked while Aace nodded and looked forward.
"Yeah, but it's still weird." Aace said while both stood at the front gate to wait for the other students. "This might just be tour day and such… But I still didn't expect to be here." Aace said as Mina hummed.
Mina knew a few people who didn't have quirks. Aace probably counted himself among those until it first manifested.
"Not everyone gets accepted into U.A, you know." Mina put in as Aace leaned against the wall.
"I know, my parents were surprised when I managed to get in." Aace stated before looking at Mina again. "You? All I could make out was… Well…" Aace stated before clearing his throat.
"OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD! AACE, AACE, AACE! DID YOU GET YOUR CERTIFICATE!? I'M FREAKING! OUT!" Aace yelled as Mina playfully elbowed her friend in the ribs.
"Hey, you barely seemed excited at all." Mina stated while Aace hummed and smirked and rubbed at his ribs.
"Yeah… Because I was too shocked to really say anything, Mina." Aace put in while using his quirk to levitate his soda in his hands. "How did you want me to react?" Aace questioned before catching the bottle. He grabbed the bottle before it fell.
Aace really wanted to master his quirk. The first step? Learning to control metal while his focus was elsewhere.
"Ok, fair." Mina put in while looking down the road and raised an eyebrow. "Geez, where is everyone?" Mina asked Aace who shrugged before he went back to practicing his quirk.
Mina watched as Aace slowly twisted the soda can upside down. Aace focused more as he slowly spun the bottle through the air. The can wobbled here and there, but Aace never once let it drop.
"You're getting better!" Mina yelled which caused Aace to drop the soda. He instantly grabbed it from the air and looked at his friend.
"Still not good at doing it if I don't focus all the way." Aace put in before tucking the soda into his backpack's pocket. "Plus? I'm still getting headaches and all that." Aace explained while rubbing at his temples.
At least they didn't ache as bad. Aace really would have preferred the concentration thing to splitting headaches. Aace guaranteed he would have had to carry around a bottle of aspirin.
"Your master it." Mina put in while Aace hummed and quickly took out an aspirin and shallowed it. He gagged for a moment and wiped off his mouth.
"I hate medicine." Aace stated while putting the bottle in a front pocket. He wondered if his parents informed the school why he had the bottle on him at all times.
With luck? He wouldn't need the damn thing all the time. He'd take that as a blessing in disguise.
"Dude, who doesn't?" Mina asked teasingly while Aace cracked another smile.
"Uh… Doctors and pharmacists?" Aace questioned while cracking his back.
"Very funny, wise guy." Mina said while caused Aace to roll his eyes and once again look around the courtyard. It was pretty deafly quiet for a school that was expecting students.
"Mina, can I see your envelope really quick?" Aace questioned as he blinked. Why did he have a gut feeling he just messed up in the stupidest way possible.
"OK?" Mina asked hesitantly as she handed it to Aace. He cracked it open and scanned the bottom.
"I… Hate today." Aace stated before turning it over. "Mina? This is due in 2 weeks… On Tuesday." Aace stated before Mina's eyes widened and he sighed.
"WHOOPS!" Mina yelled as Aace hummed and handed the paper back. "Uh… Your mom isn't going to come back and pick us up anytime soon, is she?" Mina asked Aace to which he shook his head.
"She's at work…" Aace stated while letting out a sigh as he knew just what was going to end up happening next. "If we are going home? We're going to have to walk all the way back across town." Aace added, already knowing they were going to be walking across the town.
"Well… Race you?" Mina asked as Aace hummed and tapped her on the head before rushing away. Aace turned to see Mina already running after him. He smirked only once before turning around to see Mina gaining on him.
He laughed and continued racing home.
"Come on, Mina!" Aace yelled backwards at Mina before turning to look at the street.

Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out that the school chapters will mostly be about Mina and Aace. Next chapter will be in a week or so and will show Aace and Mina on their first day at the school and making friends and such. Until then, Lighting wolf out!
