*Continuation of my version for 4x13*

Jordan- 14

"Are you ok?"

"Dad"

"You don't look injured or hurt. Are you sure-" Hank was finally cut off by his daughter as he was examining her for any and all injuries.

"Dad! I'm fine. I swear I am. If anything the guy ended up with a broken arm. I'm fine really. Besides Jay got to me just in time" Jordan assured her father.

"I still don't like you in there"

"I'm helping to get information"

"Go wait in the lounge until I'm done"

"But-"

"Now Jordan"

Sighing in frustration Jordan had gone to the lounge closing her father's door as he and Jay got to talking.

"Sarge, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have-" Jay started but was cut off.

"Jo's fine and you got to her in time," Hank told him.

"As for Ellie, that's all she told me until she shut down"

"Well we're doing a full workup on all employees"

"It's Vince, he's the one keeping her quiet. If you say Sam's turning tricks my money's on Vince running her. He signs her out of bed check has her running nights, signs her back in the morning, he collects the money, and then two nights ago a date goes wrong, Sam goes missing, and then her friend Ellie starts asking questions"

"We'll run with that. There's nothing else you can get out of this girl?"

"You serious?"

Before Jay could make a comment to him, Alvin spoke up. "Kid you know, you're the one who gets the call done we go off your gut"

"She's kissing my cheek and pulling at my belt"

"Then call it"

"We don't have enough"

"Vince's admission to you is not a confession of guilt there's nothing out of line with his financials Nothing linking him to running Sam"

While the three men had talked Jordan was by the door listening and had gotten an idea. With a mischievous smirk, she ran out of the bullpen and out of the district again. After getting on a bus and a pain in the ass walk in the cold she had made it back to Brady and walked in as if nothing had happened.

This time Vince had seen her coming in, Jordan shook off the light powdery snow that had fallen on her and smoothed back her lightly damp hair.

"Lynn, this is the second time you've gone AWOL. Where'd you go?"

"None of your damn business, that's where I was. You're not my father and you're not my boss. Piss off and leave me alone. I don't answer to you"

"I think you need to come with me and get that attitude checked"

"Touch me and you get what your boy got last night"

"Is that a threat?"

"I don't make threats, I make promises. Touch me I turn your arm into a snapped twig"

"You know what little girl" He reached out and grabbed her arm pulling her to him. "You don't seem to have any respect for authority figures do you?"

"Actually that's where you're wrong. I do. Now I'm giving you a second to get the hell off of me otherwise my fist will meet your face"

"Between you and me, I like my girls feisty"

Jordan couldn't take it anymore and threw her fist out as hard as she could punching him and making him break the hold on her. She flexed her now bruised hand and looked at him.

"Like I told the asshole last night, don't touch me"

Jordan turned and walked away as Vince struggled to get off the floor. Tonya had seen her going by and followed her.

"That was one hell of a right hook you gave him, who taught you how to fight?" Tonya asked, amused.

"My brother. Before he died. What do you want?" Jordan bit back, trying to shake the pain from her hand.

"Where are you sneaking off to? Got a secret boyfriend?"

"I don't do relationships. Where I went is my business and only my business"

"Did Vince have you go out? Maybe your first second night out or something"

Before making a comment Jordan turned. "And what do you know about that?"

"I know plenty"

"What do you say we talk more about it later? I think I could be persuaded into it"

"I'll come to your room tonight, hook you up. What do you want?"

"I'm good with all that. I don't use anymore, I just got clean"

"Suit yourself" Tonya took her hand and put something in her hand. It had been two white pills.

Jordan turned and went to the bathroom and gripped the sink tightly, taking deep breaths. The urges were high and felt as if they were out of control. She needed something, anything to take the edge off. She felt something in her hand, slowly turning her hand over and opening it she saw the pills.

Looking at them in her hand and then at her reflection in the mirror Jordan wasn't sure what to do. All she had to do was take these and the urges, and the edge would be gone. The teen would finally calm down and try to be level-headed. But if she does take them her sobriety would be gone and she'd once again have to do it all over again. She stayed in the bathroom just staring at the two pills.

Jay had made his return to the Institue and he couldn't find Jordan which had worried him. He swore that girl was like a damn ninja always so sneaky. As he walked he tried to shift his focus back to the case and look for Ellie, he found the blonde in a room watching tv.

Tonya had passed him with a flirty smile. "Hey boy scout"

Jay didn't say a word, he ignored her and went into the room where Ellie was. He held something in his hand. A train ticket out of Chicago he simply sat it on the table in front of her.

"I just wanna have a talk with you later, the ticket's yours either way," He said then turned to leave the room.

The blonde had gone to a staircase and waited the two had made small conversation until Jay had dropped the bombshell.

"Ellie, I'm a cop I will help. And the girl that's always following me around, she's my boss's daughter. Her name isn't Lynn, it's Jordan. Lynn's her middle name"

"Prove it, I wanna see a badge"

"I don't have my badge on me"

"You're lying. You're lying. What do you want from me? What do you want for this?"

"Hey, hey. Look" He pulled out his seat of keys and showed her. "See this it's a listening device, it's like a wire. You can trust me. You can trust Jordan. I promise"

"There's a room"

Jay had left the stairwell and went in search of the room he had found himself outside Tonya's room. After opening the door he went inside. Jordan was looking around the room herself trying to find anything on this little bitch.

"What are you doing?" Jay asked.

Hearing Jay's voice the teen had just about jumped fifteen feet in the air. "What the hell is the matter with you? Are you trying to give me a heart attack?"

"I'm searching and again, you're not supposed to be here"

"Why are you in here?"

"Why are you?"

"I asked first"

"I'm looking for something"

"Ditto me too"

"Just stay back, please. I don't need your father taking my head if something happens to you"

She rolled her eyes and watched him search he moved a bookcase and saw a giant hole in the wall he looked back at the teen. "You stay here"

"I'm not a dog you big dope"

"Just stay here, be the lookout"

"Oh joy. A lookout job"

Jay rolled his eyes and had gone into the wall and it had gotten bigger, it was a much bigger room. It had been full of different things, clothes, shoes, and a calendar. Taking his phone out the young detective had taken a picture of a small area where there was blood.

He had heard a noise behind him and froze thinking he was caught. The figure was Jordaan. "That was one hell of a small space"

"What part of staying where you were was hard to understand?"

"Relax, nobody was out there"

"Go back out there"

"Yes sir dad"

Jordan left the room, and Jay bent down and made a call. "We got it wrong, Sam died at Brady"

Jay had gone out to Jordan and she dropped something in his hands, it was the two pills. Before he could even get a word out Jordan started.

"I'm sorry but I had to give you these before I did something I'd regret"

"We'll talk about this later. Your father and the others are coming you need to go with your dad"

"Not yet"

"Jordan, please. If anything were to happen to you, your father would lose it"

"I'm gonna head back to the room"

Jay sighed. "Teenage girls"

As Jay predicted Hank, all of intelligence, and other CPD officers had arrived trying to get in. Hank was also trying to find his daughter, her disappearing habits were beginning to mess with him.

All the girls were lined up on the wall, the staff separated, cops searching everywhere. Hank then came out with Ellie followed by Jay with Jordan. Tonya had seen it and tried to run at the blonde but Kevin had stopped her.

Once at the district Jay had brought Ellie to one of the interview rooms while Hank brought his daughter to his office. Jordan knew she was in a world of trouble once this was finished. After making sure his daughter was in his office with someone watching her, he had gone to the room where Jay was with Ellie.

Ellie sat across from them scared, visibly shaking. A big bandaid on her chin, some of her chin was red from her attack. They had both given her reassuring looks.

"All you gotta do is tell him what you told me," Jay told her.

Ellie swallowed and started. "I um…three nights ago I was sleeping and I heard something. I knew Sam was out working and I thought she must have gotten back early. So I went to check" She stopped as she bit her lip, tears swelling up in her eyes.

"It's ok just take all the time you need," Hank told her, looking at Ellie and seeing her reminded Hank so much of Jordan when he was scared to talk about anything.

The blonde teen took another moment and continued. "We have to leave Brady through Tonya's dorm room. So I went there I went to the back room and there was blood. It was the staff van pulling into the driveway. There was just so much blood"

"Did you see who was driving the van?"

"No, but I know who it was, she's been forcing us to keep the staff "happy" to go out, forcing us to make money. Sam just couldn't handle it anymore and she knew that. She knew Sam was gonna talk so she killed her"

"Who killed her?"

Taking a slight shuddering breath Ellie answered. "Tonya. Tonya killed her"

Hank had made the call over to Kenny to get Tonya arrested and hauled back. While they waited for Tonya, Hank had gone to check on his daughter. Jordan was at her father's desk, falling asleep. Her hand propped her chin and the slightest moves made her jump.

The older man had gone over and shook her making her jump. "Easy sweetheart, you need sleep go lay on the couch"

"Dad-"

"Jordan you're in no condition to fight with me right about now. Not to mention you're in a world of trouble"

The teen stood to her height and went to the couch with her father's help and he covered her up. After a few minutes of blinking Jordan had finally gone to sleep, Hank took off his jacket and covered her with it. He then ran his fingers through her hair, it was one of many things to keep her asleep.

Soon enough Tonya had arrived and they had brought her to a room and began questioning her, the dark-haired teen began turning the tables blaming everything on Ellie and accusing Jay of sleeping with her. That had angered the young detective. He had flipped a chair and Hank forced him out of the room.

A few moments after that Hank came out and they began having a dispute about Hank believing Tonya and not Ellie.

"All we have right now is the word of a 17-year-old girl and trust me from experience, they aren't easy at talking. Sometimes it can be as hard as pulling teeth"

Erin had then come from around the corner. "Guys we got something"

Jay was not believing what he was hearing. They had found blood in Ellie's belongings. Ellie went into Tonya's room at 7 pm the night Sam died and didn't come out till, after midnight, she had been in the room around the time of death.

Jay had taken Erin out back to Brady and they had found a plastic bag of cash and a cell phone. The two partners headed back and managed to get Tonya on first-degree murder charges.

After a bit of sleeping Jordan woke up and rubbed her eyes, she had gone to the bathroom, and searching around she found Ellie still in the interview room. Taking a breath she had gone into the room. Hearing the door open Ellie turned to see Jordan.

"Hey," Jordan says.

"Hey. You're Jordan, the one that followed the cop around" Ellie spoke.

"That's me. Lynn is my middle name and Carter was my mom's last name"

"Was?"

"My mom died when I was a baby. My dad raised me with the help of a lot of people"

"You said your dad was in jail"

"He was when I was 11. He's the Sergeant of the unit. I'm sure you've talked to him, Sergeant Voight"

Ellie's eyes slightly widened. "He's your dad?"

"He is. I couldn't use my last name without raising red flags so I used my mom's name. Everything I said wasn't exactly a lie. My mom did die when I was a baby, and my older brother he died not that long ago. And my dad was in jail when I was younger. I just changed it up a bit"

"I'm sorry about your mom and brother"

"It's ok. I think I've finally managed to cope with it"

"So when you snuck out.."

"I went home to my dad. Listen, I'm sorry for coming at you the way I did at Brady. Jay's been like my big brother and since losing mine, I became really protective of them"

"You got a good one in him"

"Thanks. I gotta go before I get in more trouble but if you ever come back to Chicago and need help, look us up. We'll help you"

"Thanks, Jordan"

"You can call me Jo"

"See you around Jo"

"Ditto. See you"

Jordan had left the room and went to find her father, Hank was finished processing and booking Tonya. He gathered his stuff and Jordan gathered her stuff, the father and daughter headed home for the night. In the teen's mind, she was mentally preparing to face the music and possible wrath of her father.

After what seemed like a short drive the father and daughter made it home and headed inside. Once inside and the door was shut then locked, Hank was scratching at his eyebrow and rubbing his forehead trying not to lose his cool entirely on his daughter. The teen was biting her lip just waiting for it.

"Are you out of your mind?!" Hank had finally exploded.

Jordan put her fingers in her ears to avoid her father's loudness. "Must you be that loud dad?"

"I told you not to do that Jordan, had anyone found out the truth about you that could have possibly sunk the entire case. Not to mention blown Jay's cover and you could have gotten hurt or worse"

The teen dropped her head and just listened, tears swelling in her eyes. "I didn't wanna feel useless or not be able to protect Jay. I couldn't save or protect Justin, so I try and help with the others any way I could"

"Jo look at me"

She shook her head wiping her eyes, Hank then went over and took two fingers lifting her chin so their eyes could meet. The older father had wiped her tears with his thumb.

"Sweetheart, what happened with your brother" Hank started but stopped, he still didn't like bringing it up. The pain was still fresh and not fully gone. "That wasn't anyone's fault, you hear me? It wasn't your fault or mine, the only person responsible for it was the one who took him and he got dealt with" Hank wouldn't tell her that he killed the bastard, he wouldn't want her caught up in anything should that ever get brought up.

"And furthermore, you're 14. You're still a kid, all you should be focused on is your recovery and school that's all. We're the adults, it's our job to protect you. Not the other way around. Leave everything to us. The police work, protecting and keeping everyone including you safe. You focus on school none of that, you hear me"

"I understand dad. I won't do it anymore"

"And by the way you're grounded for interfering with a police case"

"Fair enough"

"2 weeks"

Hank had brought his daughter into his hold and hugged her tightly, Jordan had to come out with this before he found out from Jay if the detective ever mentions it.

"I came close to using but I swear I didn't"

"Jo Jo-" He started but was cut off.

"That girl, Tonya, we were talking and she put two pills in my hand. I didn't take them I swear I gave them to Jay"

"I'm so proud of you Jo Jo"

Jordan kissed her father's cheek and went to bed. For the first time in a long time, she finally managed to sleep through the night. She had awoken at 7 the next morning, showered, and changed. The teen left for school, she made a stop before going in.

Jay was awake and getting ready for his day, Erin had already been gone, something about her brother. As he drank his coffee there was a knock on his door, who was at his door at 7 in the morning? He went to open the door and saw the teen.

"Jo, you alright? What's wrong?" Jay asked.

"Relax buddy. I'm fine, I wanted to see you before I went to school. I can talk to you right" Jordan spoke with a smile.

"Of course, come in"

Jordan had gone into the apartment and took a breath. "I'm sorry for going in Brady while you were undercover. At the time I was trying to protect you because I couldn't protect or save my brother so I tried to protect you while you were undercover"

"Jo, honey, I appreciate it but it's not your job to protect me or any of us. It's our job to protect you"

"My dad was telling me that last night. And I'm glad I gave you those pills I fought like hell not to take them"

"And I'm very proud of you for fighting the temptation and giving them to me. Whenever you need to talk I'm here"

"Thanks, big bro"

"Anything for my little sister and just know with us around, nobody will ever hurt you"

Jordan had hugged him and Jay wrapped his arms around her holding her. The teen may have lost her older brother in Justin but she'll always have the intelligence team and so many more behind her whenever she needs someone. She'll always have family.

And this ends this mini storyline, hope you all enjoyed it!
