Jordan- 15

High school. Many words were used to describe it but there was one word to describe it to perfection. Hell. And every day was a new kind of hell for Jordan. From getting tripped up in the halls to getting food dumped on her in the cafeteria. It was a hell that never seemed to end.

Jordan didn't have many friends and she was perfectly ok with that. All the girls made fun of her appearance. The young Voight wasn't into the whole wearing girly clothes and the whole makeup crap like the other girls. She wasn't one to impress anyone. If nobody accepted her for who she was, screw them. She didn't need them. The boys would always try and mess with her in anyway they could.

The bell rang ending her last class of the day, she went to her locker to grab the extra books she'd need for her homework. Two of the jocks had been watching her from their lockers a few feet away. They had been planning something new for her.

"Hold up, you want me to ask out the school narc?" The one boy, Carter asked.

"It won't be a real date you big doof" The other boy, Lucas replied rolling his eyes.

"Then why don't you do it?"

"Because I don't want to"

"Such a wuss"

"All you gotta do is ask her out but don't show up, you dumb idiot"

"If either of you even thinks about hurting Jordan, you both will regret it" Came another voice, it was Theo. He was Jordan's only friend.

Theo and Jordan had been the best of friends since third grade and were almost always inseparable at times. He knew his friends had still been upset over losing her brother, struggling with her addiction, the loss of her daughter, Lexie's death, and now Erin's sudden departure since she took a new job in New York. Jordan was still healing and felt as if she was in a vulnerable state.

The last time she was in a weak and vulnerable state everything quickly spiraled and went downhill fast. She wasn't about to let the same mistake happen twice. The last thing she needed was to be in any relationship, not to mention her relationship with Michael damn near made her not want to date again.

Theo viciously glared at the two jocks, not only was he best friends with Jordan. He loved her, he was in love with her but never had the heart to say it. He didn't wanna make a fool of himself, he didn't wanna come out with it and Jordan didn't feel the same way. He didn't want it to affect their friendship in any way.

"Stay out of our business geek boy," Carter told him, shoving him back against the water fountain.

"Mess with Jordan and see what I do to you" Theo spat at him.

"Look here geek boy" He grabbed the boy bringing him close to his face. "I said stay out of my business or you're not gonna like what I do to you"

"You won't like what I do if you don't get your hands off him" Came Jordan's sharp voice. "Remove your hands from him or I'll break them off and I only warn once"

"Yeah right, like you could take me on" Carter laughed.

"I bet I could wipe the floor with your scrawny ass"

The jock had let the other boy go and went nose to nose with Jordan, a death glare had been in the young teen's brown eyes. The same glare her father would get. Carter threw his fist out at her only for her to catch it and she twisted his hand and wrist back painfully, the teen boy started yelling in pain.

"Now this looks embarrassing, a basketball star losing to a girl. If only I had a camera this would be hilarious"

"If you don't let me go I swear.." He started, hissing in pain but yelled out more as Jordan added more pressure as she now had his whole arm twisted.

"It wouldn't be a good idea to threaten the person who can break your arm then there goes basketball season for you. I'm going to tell you both one time and one time only, I don't like telling people things twice. Mess with Theo or me again, I'll make sure you never play any sport ever again. You got me?"

Neither boy answered, when Carter didn't answer she added more pressure and move his arm into a position of breaking it. "I said, got me?"

"Yes! Yes, just let go!"

Deciding after a moment the young Voight had decided to let him go, Carter's arm was sore and in pain. Jordan had an amused look on her face. "Wanna go for round 2?"

"This ain't over Voight"

"Bring it bitch. I ain't scared"

Lucas and Carter had left, Jordan looked at her friend with a much softer look. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. It's amazing how you have that much confidence" Theo told her.

"I've been dealing with bullies my whole life, my brother taught me how to fight back when needed. I never let what they say get to me because it's just words"

"I overheard them talking about asking you out but not letting it be a real date"

"Thank you for looking out for me Theo, I really appreciate it. More than you'll ever know"

"What else are friends for?"

"I gotta head to therapy before I go to the district. Wanna hang out Saturday night?"

"Yeah. I'd love to"

Jordan hugged him and left. As she walked out she couldn't help but think she cared more about Theo than just a friend. She loved him. She had been in love with him but shook those thoughts from her head. Theo was her best friend, you can't be in love with your best friend. It would make things awkward.

Carter and Lucas watched as Jordan left. Carter looked at his friend with a look of anger. "It's so on with her"

"Let's take her down"

An hour after her therapy session she had headed for the district, god she couldn't wait for the weekend. It was only Wednesday and she was exhausted. Between school, therapy, and other meetings she attended, she was worn out. She headed into the district and smiled seeing her godmother.

"Aunt Trudy, how are you?" Jordan asked her godmother.

"I'm good kiddo. How's my favorite goddaughter?" Trudy replied.

"Aunt Trudy, I'm your only goddaughter"

"And that's what makes you my favorite"

The teen smiled. "Is my dad in?"

"He and the others are in the field working a scene"

"Mind buzzing me up? I have a ton of homework to do"

"Not a problem"

Just as she turned she faced her godmother again. "Hey Aunt Trudy, can I run something by you?"

"Anything sweetie, what's on your mind?"

"Can friends love one another, only not as friends but more?"

"I believe so yes. You and Theo?"

"Yes. No. I don't know. I don't wanna mess up our friendship by telling him this. What if he doesn't feel the same way and I make a fool of myself?"

"You'll never know until you tell him"

That had given the teen something to think about, she headed upstairs and got started on her homework. Her father or the team hadn't returned but Denny Woods had stopped by to see Hank but saw he wasn't back yet, he had noticed the teen in her father's office doing her homework. He casually walked to the door.

"Well if it isn't my second favorite Voight" Denny's voice broke her from her homework.

"And here I thought my day was going so well until your ugly ass face showed up. What do you want? Besides annoying the hell out of me" Jordan spoke, looking up.

"I came to see your father if that's alright with you"

"He ain't here, now beat it. I'm busy"

"So blunt and confident like your father"

"Dumbass, I'm not in a mood today. My dad isn't here. When he gets back I'll consider telling him you stopped by and needed him. I've got too much crap to do right now and dealing with you ain't gonna be one of them. Go do something far away that's not here around me"

"I'll see you around Jo Jo" He smirked as he turned to leave.

Jordan's hand froze as she looked at him with a deadly look. "What did you just call me?"

"You heard me, Jo Jo"

At that the teen stood to her full height and stormed over to him, nobody was ever allowed to call her Jo Jo. Nobody except her brother. And now her father. If anyone aside from her father called her that, it was more than enough to set her off.

She stood nose to nose with him, the glare returning to her eyes. "Don't you ever call me that again. If that name even leaves your mouth around me again, I'll rip out your vocal cords and strangle you with them. Nobody's allowed to call me that. Not now, not anymore"

"I'll see you around Jordan. Behave now"

"Get out before I throw you out"

Denny soon left, he knew just how to push her buttons. Jordan had gone back to her homework. Denny had gone home and saw his daughter with a boy from Jordan's school, Carter. She was helping him nurse his sore arm after Jordan nearly broke it.

"What happened here?" Denny asked.

"Some girl at Carter's school damn near broke his arm," Brianna told her father.

"It was that damn Voight girl, Jordan. I was messing with her little side kick and she damn near tore my arm off. I can't wait to get her ass back for this"

A smirk had appeared on the older man's face. "I believe I can help you with your little dilemma son"
