Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Contaminated Crusaders. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own MHA Shonen Jump, Kohei Horikoshi and a few others do.
"WHO THE HELL PUTS TURRETS ON A BATTLEFIELD!?" Aace yelled as Mina watched. The girl saw Aace slug his enemy as he ran around the battlefield.
"TAKE HIM DOWN, AACE!" Mina yelled while trying to be heard over dozens of yells. Mina noticed Momo was next to her alongside someone who seemed to be earphone jacks.
They hung from her ear lobes. Mina guessed her quirk was something related to her hearing.
"That's your friend?" The girl with jacks asked as Mina nodded and smiled.
"Yep! That's Aace!" Mina shouted over the cheering of the other students. "KICK HIS BUTT, AACE!" Mina yelled before Gearhead landed a kick on Aace.
He sprawled across the ground before turning. Aace smacked Gearhead with a metal container. Gearhead rolled across the ground, rubbing his stomach.
"Thank you, Mi!" Aace yelled before another turret was risen by Gearhead's quirk. "OH, COME THE HELL ON!" Aace shouted and ran for cover.
"So, his quirk is metal manipulation?" The girl with jacks asked as Mina nodded. "How come he's not using the turrets against Gearhead?" She added which made Mina rub at her head.
"His quirk just activated a few weeks ago." Mina said with a nervous smirk. "He kinda hasn't been able to move objects like that. Me and Aace are working on improving our quirks." Mina added and let out a hum.
Mina saw Momo clear her throat as she watched Aace and his opponent battle.
"So, his strategy is to try and knock out Gearhead before his quirk weakens him." Momo put in as the girl with jacks and Mina turned. "It's risky given how those turrets can easily take him out." Momo stated while clearing her throat.
"Aace is pretty smart." Mina said with a smile. "I'm sure he's figuring out a way around that. Strategy is kinda his thing." Mina added and leaned on the railing.
"Hey, didn't you guys stop a robbery at a theme park?" The girl with jacks asked. Her eyebrows raised as Mina rubbed her head nervously at the question.
"Yeah…" Mina put in before Aace managed to climb atop a turret. He looked at Gearhead who approached him. Aace leapt over Gearhead as he tried to tackle him.
Gearhead slammed into the turret. Aace continued his run as he looked for 'ammo' to fight back.
"It's illegal to do that in public, you know." Momo said as Mina blinked at her.
"Well it wasn't like we were going to let them shoot people!" Mina yelled back. "Besides, that's what heroes do. They save lives. You can't just ignore people who are going to get hurt." Mina said before turning back to the fight.
Aace was silently panting from behind cover. Mina knew Aace was not out of shape. He was just more academic then athletic.
"He's putting up a lot of lot of fight for a strategist." The girl with jacks stated. "He might just win if he doesn't get cocky." The girl added while Mina leaned forward.
"Aace can handle this." Mina responded as Aace pulled a crate over. "He fights me all the time. I know Aace can put up a fight when he needs to." Mina put in before the girl with jacks turned to her.
"You're really hoping he wins, huh?" The girl with jacks questioned as Mina nodded. "Sounds a lot more than your friend." The girl said before Mina blinked.
Then her cheeks lit up as she waved her hands back and forth. Mina shook her head back and forth.
"WHAT!?" Mina yelled for a moment and started to freak out. "OH, NO, NO, NO, NO! ME AND AACE AREN'T LIKE THAT AT ALL! WE JUST MET A FEW WEEKS AGO!" Mina shouted which made several people turn. Aace also looked up at the stands in confusion.
"Mi, you ok?" Aace asked before being tackled by Gearhead. The enemy hero activated a trap that seemed to shoot out electricity.
"Sounds a lot more concerned than your making it seem." The girl with jacks stated as Mina puffed out her cheeks.
"Just because he's not my boyfriend doesn't mean I can't support him." Mina responded and crossed her arms over her chest. "That's what friends should do for each other. I'm just trying to make sure he wins." Mina said before reclining in her seat.
The girl with jacks smirked, just trying to mess with Mina. Jiro had no desire to bully anyone.
"Get off me!" Aace shouted as he slammed his armored head into Gearhead's. Aace used the lull to throw Gearhead into the shock device.
Gearhead yipped in pain before collapsing to the ground. unconscious. His body twitched as shocks arched over him.
"MERCURY DEFEATS GEARHEAD!" The School announcer yelled over the loudspeaker as Aace blinked.
"Uh…" Aace muttered and scratched at his head. "I guess that's that?" Aace asked and pulled off his costume's helmet. He pulled back his head and blinked.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out the future battles will be harder and such. I also don't want anything to think I find Mina stupid. I just wanted Aace to be smarter to act as a foil to Mina's brawns. Next chapter will be in a week and will show Mina and Ace discussing the match and next one. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
