Well... I made a mistake. I had just written this chapter earlier, and a mistake with my laptop caused it all to be deleted before I could click save. All my previous progress was lost. I am beyond frustrated at this. I know I don't write much in these chapters, but that is still time spent writing, researching, grammar checking, and other work wasted. I'm just rewriting this chapter and putting it up and saving it this time.
Usual disclaimer, I don't claim to or own anything of the kaiju here. They belong to Toho or Legendary. Now, here's the chapter. I am liking how this goes, and have some good plans for what will come. It may be... mechanical. You'll find out.
Ichi was angry. A feeling the center head had often trying to keep the other two in line. And now, things were not boding well. Ni, being the aggressive and foolish head that he is, fired a gravity beam for no reason. And said strike of electricity hit something near the ground.
A pained wail confirmed Ichi's suspicion. Well, Ni. You dragged us into this, you get us out. In truth, the center head they that all three would have to deal with Ni's incompetence. The leader of the three just really wanted to rip their heads off sometimes and just not let them grow back.
As Ghidorah neared the ground, he saw two kaiju. Both are dark black in coloration, with orange-red eyes. One of them is smaller, possessing wings. Judging by the pained cries from it, the other two heads figured out who Ni hit. The other black thing is bigger, bulkier, although grounded.
Ichi didn't recognize these Titans quickly. Ghidorah had seen them before, but he couldn't put a claw on what he forgot about them. As the one with wings recovered from the electric shock, it turned towards the golden dragon. Wings spread out, the thing let out a fearsome roar. The other let out a similar roar after a moment of hesitation.
Ghidorah almost felt bad. It wasn't their fault, but a challenge was a challenge. One these two were about to lose.
Ni blasted electricity forward. It exploded in a cloud of smoke and power. Although, the intended target, the flyer, wasn't there. San let out a surprised screech as he narrowly avoided being hooked by the flyer's forelimbs. Then, the bigger one roared from the ground, obviously looking to join the fight, but unable to do much from the ground.
All three of Ghidorah's heads began charging up a more powerful shot of their gravity beams. The grounded one would be scorched. Although, it lifted a forelimb into the air. Ghidorah thought nothing of it.
After all, what could a grounded Titan do to one that could fly. It had no breath.
Just as Ghidorah was about to fire, the black parasite slammed the forelimb back down onto the ground. A small shockwave radiated outwards. Within moments, the charge Ghidorah was building was snuffed out.
Bewildered, all three heads were confused as to what happened. San was frightened. Ni was angry, trying and failing to even get a spark from his jaw. Ichi was confused. Their main ability, their electric gravity beam, was disabled.
In the moment of distraction, the flying parasite struck. Lifting his forelimbs upwards, poised to tear into flesh, he had descended, right towards Ghidorah.
All three heads screeched in pain as a stabbing pain filled through them. Unprepared, the sudden force of the impact pushed them to the ground. They landed on the ground with a tremendous thud.
Now shaken and injured, all three heads realized that this opponent was practically made to counter them. They could disable their main ability, and together, beat him. Then, the larger one joined in. Raising several limbs, they crushed down on Ghidorah's body and necks. The flyer joined in, flying upwards and descending down to deliver attacks.
Although, despite the loss of his best attack, the One Who is Many was far from defenseless. All three heads suddenly and violently bit into the forelegs of the larger black parasite. It screeched in pain as it struggled to get Ghidorah to release his grip. Another attack by the male Jinshin-Mushi forced Ghidorah to let go.
His forelimbs now coaked and stained in yellow blood, the male roared again in ager, now turning to one of the heads of his foe. He turned and walked towards the center head. Looking down at his opponent, the male couldn't help but feel... something. Accomplishment? Pride? I've beaten the alpha. No. We've beaten him. Not so tough, is he?
His thoughts were cut short when he suddenly felt an enormous, unbearable pain in his neck. Blood began to flow as he struggled against the biting grip.
Then, his partner forced the middle head away with a slam of a forelimb.
Ghidorah spread his wings, and took off, his feet soon leaving the ground. The two Jinshin-Mushi stayed where they were, taking in what just happened.
King Ghidorah learned that those parasites were a force to be reckoned with. Not one they would allow to live. But for now, they had no choice.
The Jinshin-Mushi learned that they can take on and beat the alpha. For now, they are safe to do as they please. For now, they have to recover, while Ghidorah heads further north, looking to both continue searching for a lair and get away from the black parasites.
Megaguirus was pleased with herself. The insect queen had once again reestablished herself. The cries of the alpha were one she willingly obeyed. It was necessary to purge those stupid things from the planet they used to rule.
The Meganulon Queen had set up a nest for herself underground. The endless steppe around her was filled with bipeds and their animals. The Meganulon that served her were out there now, collecting food.
She would much rather be out there herself, joining in with the smaller ones in acquiring food, and the old, younger part of her longed to explore.
Although, she was content with her current situation. While the purple insect had established herself here and is now following the alpha, there was still something to do.
Or rather, it was a thought on the mind of the queen. What fate had fallen the other insectoid kaiju? Kamacuras? She cared little for the mantis. Kumonga? An overgrown spider she'd rather be rid of. Mothra? A nice friend, at least. It's not like they interacted much anyways.
Well, there was nothing but boredom for her, it appeared. Soon, she would head out herself. Maybe even destroy a biped nest or two. That would be fun.
Meganulon swarms were ravaging the steppes of Mongolia and surrounding areas. Ulaanbaatar was destroyed by a swarm of the kaiju insects, crippling the Mongolian response to the Titan threat. A fate that befell several places across the world. More and more cities were destroyed.
Despite it all, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East were largely untouched, with no Titans dormant there. How long these areas would remain that way is unknown.
Deep beneath Hong Kong, Apex Cybernetics was scrambling. As Titans rampaged across the globe, humanity had no defense. Most weaponry and technology were useless. The Oxegen Destroyer would take too long for even another prototype to be created.
A special project that was barely getting started was pushed into overtime. Despite numerous problems that would have to be addressed, they had to speed up this creation for humanity to stand a chance.
While the ultimate weapon in combatting the Titans was being built, several smaller projects were in the works, hoping to at least get something out to defend humanity.
Moguera was almost ready to be deployed. One country had desperately requested for Moguera specifically to deal with a rampaging Titan.
Munich and so many other cities were razed. Germany could only hope Methuselah could be stopped in time.
