Hi again. The last chapter I wrote was a lot longer than I usually do, but it was mostly the Zilla part. I'll try and even it out a bit more for this chapter and later ones. I do want to mention another thing. While I have done nothing involving the human characters in my story, focusing solely on the Titans, this doesn't mean that they aren't doing anything. You'll see what I mean soon. Also, in this chapter, I am introducing several Titans that we never got to see even a glimpse of. My designs for Bunyip and Baphomet are just about entirely based on DjayMasi's drawing and descriptions on DeviantArt(I'm perfectly willing to talk about my use of your work in PMs if it's a problem). How I describe these creatures is NOT OFFICIAL, just an interpretation of what they may look like. (Also, for one Toho kaiju I have changed how they work a bit to better fit the style of the MonsterVerse. Just wanted to mention this specifically for one kaiju. Read to find out).
All Titans and Kaiju belong to Legendary or Toho, I don't own anything.
Also, as of writing this, I am on summer vacation. This means that hopefully, the next chapter after this one will be out sometime later this June or July. Now that all of this is out of the way, I hope you enjoy the latest chapter in my little story.
Chapter 5: Let Them Fight
Volubilis, Morocco
Baphomet was just completely stunned by what was in front of him. He had no clue what this little thing was.
Before going into hibernation, he had gone to sleep not far from the coastline in this grassy area. He was awoken from slumber by an Alpha Call. He didn't want to comply. However, his options were few and grim if his old ally was gone, as the usurper claimed.
At the moment, he was completely disregarding the orders of The One Who is Many. He was just so fascinated by this small creature.
It appears to be bipedal, just like himself. However, unlike him, it had no antlers, long claws, or black fur. His amber eyes studied the thing in curiosity and wonder.
This must be one of those biped things the Alpha was telling us about. However, Baphomet was still curious and struck by amazement. And by such a puny creature. One that was very similar to himself.
He could tell that it was shaking in fear, looking up at him with wide eyes, likely too frightened to have not run yet. He knew why it was afraid. While most animals feared the big creatures like him because of their sheer size alone, he knew that his looks only made it worse.
The cervid creature reached out of his hands, the black skin and fur only highlighted by the bright and sunny conditions of the area. One of his elongated fingers reached out to the biped thing. He was kneeling, head leaning down, and arm extended.
Just as he was about to touch the creature, it suddenly dropped to the ground. Baphomet hastily pulled his hand back, surprised by the sudden movement. Odd. What happened to it? Confused, he decided against interacting with it further.
Standing upright, his amber eyes took in the view of the area. This place is fertile, and there are several... rock and stone things? Wierd. They did not look natural to the Titan.
Just as he took his first steps towards those strange small flat rock things, he saw something in the sky, flying towards him. And then, more of them showed up. Baphomet tilted his head to the side, lifting one of his arms, confused as to what those weirdly shiny flying things were.
Before they got any closer, the flying things veered off, and smaller, pointy things were now moving incredibly fast towards him.
Baphomet's eyes widened and he immediately began to move. He did not think those things were good. He was proven right in seconds.
They exploded upon contact with his body and the ground around him. Baphomet roared in pain as the explosions rang out.
He aimlessly swung up at the sky, he wasn't thinking straight in a foolish attempt to try and hit the flying things as they went by.
Baphomet turned and simply started to run. He wasn't sure where to go. All he wanted at this moment was to be anywhere but here. However, a thought filled his mind that he had previously ignored. That Alpha Call.
He knew that the usurper was the Golden Devil. He had no love for that golden monster.
He had even fought side by side with Gojira and Mosura in a battle against that alien creature.
While most considered him to be a malevolent creature as well. In a way, the black-furred creature knew that he was. That didn't mean he wanted to kill all other life. No. Far from that.
He simply only looked out for the creatures most don't care for. The more barren environments of his home. The deserts, particularly that big one on this continent. He simply didn't care who or what he had to harm or change to accomplish his goals. He wouldn't admit it to anyone else, but he... almost, sort of... took pleasure in killing foreign creatures that didn't belong to the deserts. While he was malevolent in some ways, Baphomet was not like that Three-Headed Terror.
That three-headed beast holds no power over me. I will never stand for him! Baphomet let out a loud and shrieking roar. Most other life that heard it would feel nervous and frightened. However, the call meant something else to the other Titans.
He wouldn't stand with Ghidorah and the ones under his influence.
Not now, and not ever.
Baphomet would bow to nobody.
Just then, another group of flying things passed by above him. They began to rain down fire and fury. However, this time, Baphomet had quickly formed a plan.
He dodged all the explosions using his speed and agility. His stature is incredibly similar to the apes. Then, as the last one passed, he jumped, arms outstretched.
His plan worked. His elongated claws pierced right through the strange thing. It blew up seconds after he had impaled it. The explosion stung his hand and hurt slightly. His amber eyes looked at the rest of them in fury as they flew past.
Then, he noticed many small moving things on the ground. And with them, were several more of those... small biped things.
Fine then. Do you stupid things want a fight? He snarled. I'll give you exactly what you want.
Dakar, Senegal
Mosura carefully landed on top of a human structure. The landing and her weight still shook it a little. The sight her blue eyes took in saddened her. This bunch of human nests were under attack.
Humans. Those small creatures were so unique and different. Some were normal, preferring to be peaceful. Others were dangerous and intent on causing harm. In the days of old, some cared for her, seeing her as a divine being. Such a varied and interesting species...
All around her, they were running away in terror on the land below, or using their... land metal things to flee. They are all running away from the shore. However, this place is right along the coastline.
The creature responsible for all this mayhem was in the water. She could only watch as one of their floating things was destroyed, cut into pieces, and left to sink as a tail smashed into it.
The serpent then emerged onto the shore. His blue-grey body shimmers in the sunlight as the seawater pours off. His four legs carry him onto the sandy beach. His red-yellow eyes blinked a few times as the water-dwelling Titan emerged onto land.
Mosura could see his mouth full of white, sharp teeth. His forked tongue came out for just a moment, before retreating into his mouth. Manda opened his jaws wide and roared.
Mosura responded in kind, letting her screech fill the air. The sea dragon moved off the beach, slamming his head into the side of a human structure. It collapsed almost immediately. She could hear screams and noises coming from nearby.
She couldn't stand by any longer. This had to stop. She took flight, moving in the air towards the serpent creature.
Manda. Please, you need to stop this. She hoped to reason with him. Get him to willingly stop this needless destruction. However, a roar was his only reply. It was followed by a sudden burst of water hitting her directly.
Mosura screeched in surprise as the force of the blast pushed her back. She was left mostly unharmed, but soaking wet.
I'm only following the orders of the new Alpha. Manda's eyes turned away, and he stopped moving. To Mosura he almost seemed... sad?
She was struggling to stay airborne with her body and wings completely wet, but she flew closer to the sea dragon.
I don't want to hurt you, Mosura, but I need to destroy those bipeds. Mothra knew what he meant. Most of the others had chosen to submit to that Golden Invader.
She knew some things about Ghidorah. He wasn't from their world, coming from the stars and blackness outside of her home. He's another Alpha species, just like her, Godzilla, and the Apes. He wanted the planet for himself to rule over and didn't want the humans to be part of his reign.
While she valued all life, even convincing Godzilla to still spare their foes when the pair defeated malevolent or dangerous creatures several times, even she had to admit that it may be better if that Three-Headed Devil was killed rather than allowed to live or simply flee back to the stars.
Mosura, please. Just step aside. I don't want to hurt you... But I can't defy him. You know that. Manda genuinely was a nice creature. He followed the old Alpha willingly during the days of old, but now... He did still follow the Alpha, only now that leader is the Golden Invader.
Mosura looked down at the serpent. I'm sorry, Manda. She then let out a screech and prepared to use one of her special abilities. Mosura suddenly began to glow brightly. The golden-white god rays were blinding everyone nearby.
The water dragon cried out in pain and surprise, his eyes firmly shut while he tried to turn away from the source of the blinding light. Mothra stopped using her bioluminescence. While her foe was still disoriented and distracted, she fired some of her silk. The water-dwelling Titan had his tail pinned to the sand and concrete under him. Then, his legs. Finally, his head.
Manda squirmed in a futile attempt to break free, but he wasn't strong enough to break these strings. He was exhausted from swimming all the way here nonstop from elsewhere in the southern Atlantic.
Mosura flew down to him. She landed on the ground in front of the serpent. He could only make a small rumbling sound in his throat and look at her with his red-yellow eyes.
She knew that this could be the perfect opportunity to finish off one of the many enemies she now had. However, that wasn't like her. Manda and so many of her friends and former allies were unwillingly or forcefully taking the orders of the Alpha.
Godzilla was stuck on the brink of death in his home, being guarded by Na Kika. She could act as ruler until her symbiotic partner recovered, but that would never work so long as Ghidorah was in control.
She needed allies. Find Titans that hadn't submitted to Ghidorah. Whether they be the few that may have chosen to stick with the old Alpha or those that simply want to be on their own.
After one last look at the trapped serpent, she spread her wings and took flight, leaving behind this bunch of human structures.
She was going to go back to the old Alpha's home, and try to figure out something. However, as she was flying over the ocean, she heard a call. It was one the Queen of the Monsters recognized. They had fought side-by-side once, in the days long past. Baphomet.
His roar was one of defiance. He wouldn't listen to Ghidorah.
She knew what to do. She changed direction, now heading towards the source of the call. The two had worked together before. While he was a malevolent creature in many ways, he may be the start of getting a group to resist and eventually defeat Ghidorah.
Sydney, Australia
Shinomura was cautious in his approach to this bunch of biped things. No, not bipeds. Humans. Humans... Where had he heard that name before? The parasitic creature couldn't quite remember how he figured out what to call those puny two-legged things, but he did know.
The water was a crystal clear blue in the ocean underneath him. Sometimes, he enjoyed just skimming the edge of the liquid, just letting the blue water touch his underbelly. He couldn't explain why, but it was something he enjoyed doing.
He might have even done that thing if he wasn't so near the coast. Then, there's this bunch of human nest... things. This place looked interesting. His curiosity spiked just looking around as his wings took him above in the sky.
Maybe this won't be so bad. Shinomura warbled in delight. He was content with just flying around. Although, he suddenly heard a roar. Not quite one he recognized, but it might be familiar in some way. But how...?
The creature flew down to the ground. He landed on top of a building, his prehensile tail wrapping around the edges. His six eyes looked around. At first, he saw nothing out of the ordinary.
Another roar got his attention. Turning to look left, the parasitic creature saw another Titan.
At first glance, one would think that it is an overgrown platypus. However, Titanus Bunyip has other features and parts of his body that are more reptilian or resemble other mammals. Moreso, compared to the flying creature nearby, this Titan was almost double his length, and taller.
Bunyip roared once more, slamming his tail into the ground, smashing several buildings to dust, and sending a small shockwave out that shook nearby structures.
Shinomura responded to the display of power with his call, taking flight, staying higher up in the sky, and looking down at the other creature.
Bunyip leaped forward. While he didn't jump that far, the landing crushed several more nests under his slender body and legs.
Get down here and fight, you parasite! If he could have, the flying creature would have flinched. While most everyone calls his kind parasitic, in truth, he largely fed off the bodies of other dead creatures to sustain himself with radiation, or occasionally hunted smaller prey. He didn't think any of that was like those true black parasites.
Letting anger cloud his thinking, Shinomura roared and swooped down, jaws ready to clamp down on Bunyip's neck as he rapidly descended to the ground.
However, his opponent entirely predicted this action. As soon as Shinomura got close enough, Bunyip slammed him with his beaver-like tail in one swift action. The parasitic creature barely had time to cry out before he was flung hard. He crashed through several human nests, his side and wing scraping the ground.
His side scraped up and partially bleeding, the parasite was dazed and paused, waiting a moment before he would take flight again. A bad decision. In seconds, Bunyip had leaped on top of the grounded flier. His bill latched down on Shinomura's other wing. His eyes widened in surprise and he began to shake and squirm to try and break free. The futile effort ended when he cried out in a terrible and screeching pain.
Bunyip dropped the severed wing on the ground. stepping back from his opponent. Shinomura desperately tried to fly upwards, but continuously failed with only one wing. His other wing would regenerate. It already was. He could feel the uncomfortable and irritating effort already starting to happen. However, it wasn't fast enough to heal on the spot or in long, drawn-out fights. It was meant for after he was safe and had time to recover. He had no such luxury in this situation.
Bunyip approached again. he looked down at his grounded opponent. This fight was too easy. Bunyip knew it was against his orders to attack another Titan. The Alpha wanted them all to work together to destroy those bipeds.
However, ally or not, he wanted this flying parasite dead. Bunyip would not let what happened so long ago happen again. This was a different individual, but he swore to have revenge, even if the perpetrator was likely long dead.
This one would do just nicely. Enjoy death, you miserable parasite. His tail slammed into Shinomura. Again. And again. And again.
The parasitic Titan couldn't bear the pain and suffering he was going through. This was too much to handle. He wanted to just give up. Slide into unconsciousness and let his foe slaughter him.
However, his core survival instincts wouldn't let him just sit down and die. The next time Bunyip tried to slam his tail into Shinomura's side, his prehensile tail wrapped around it. With what little strength he had left, he flung Bunyip away.
This time, it was the giant platypus that plowed through buildings and rolled along the ground. His head was bleeding after it crashed into a particularly sharp... something. It felt pointy and not exactly natural. Somewhat like a much tougher rock? Metal? Perhaps.
He whimpered in pain as his legs slowly brought him back to standing. Shinomura dived forward, his jaws latching down on his opponent's neck.
His jaws sank deeper, drawing blood and causing Bunyip to choke with a lack of oxygen. He gasped for air, his desperate cries filling the air of Sydney.
His front claws tried time and time again to dislodge the flying Titan, but he wouldn't budge.
Bunyip's thoughts of revenge were all gone. Now, he desperately didn't want to die.
Then, he had an idea. He kicked one of his hind legs upwards. It hit Shinomura on the back. While the kick itself did nothing, what it caused was major. A spur containing a paralyzing neurotoxin pierced Shinomura's skin and injected the vile liquid into his opponent.
Shinomura stopped suddenly, a foreign sensation filling his body. He didn't know what it was or how to react. He let go of Bunyip, backing away. The neurotoxin started to take effect.
Shinomura began to spasm, a cry half of pain and partly confusion escaping his jaws. His regeneration for his torn wing ceased. His other wing wouldn't respond. It merely shook uncontrollably. His tail wouldn't function right either. It shook violently at odd angles and felt completely wrong.
His jaw hung open as Shinomura fell to the ground with a tremendous thud. As his body stopped spazzing, he couldn't move. He weakly tried to cry out, but it sounded incredibly forced and garbled.
Bunyip, exhausted from the conflict and bleeding from a gash on his head and bites to his neck, chooses to end this. I... I call this a draw, Shinomura...
Bunyip slowly walked away. He didn't bother destroying any bipeds on the way out. He fled inland, back to his home. His new priority was to heal. Revenge was not worth his life...
As for Shinomura, he was stuck paralyzed for who knows how long. While the neurotoxin worked through his systems, it would flush out eventually. But how long would that take?
I hate that platypus... That was his only thought as Shinomura lay there, his eyes unable to turn from looking at the ground, his jaws open, whole body unable to move, and the regeneration process for his severed wing halted.
The Australian government would see him staying there for who knows how long until the paralyzing effect wore off.
Several Thousand Years Ago, On a Distant Planet
Ghidorah chittered playfully as he ran along the ground. The other golden creature was not far behind, emitting the same happy roars and chitters. Ghidorah was far smaller than what he would eventually grow into. The same applied to the other Ghidorah.
The siblings were both relatively small, less than a quarter of the size King Ghidorah would grow up to be.
Ichi roared in excitement, looking back at his brother. He turned to the other two heads. Ni. San. Flap the wings. Let's fly!
Both left and right heads answered quickly, and soon Ghidorah was flying, if only a little higher than the orange trees around them. Their brother wasn't far behind.
The other Ghidorah, only slightly older, having hatched first, called out to his younger sibling. Wait up, you three!
Ni turned back. He taunted, Oh, come on. Can't keep pace? Haha.
A quick reprimand from Ichi was his reward. Once more, Ichi gripped onto one of Ni's horns. He had grabbed it so many times already in their short time around he lost count. It was kind of getting loose though. The young center head didn't think much of it.
Multiple red eyes on each head of his brother looked at Ichi.
Ichi always paid more attention to the differences between the three of them and their brother.
Void Ghidorah was so unique and special. And so were they. Well, that's what San always happily said whenever one of them was feeling down.
San looked at his brother as Void caught up, now flying beside each other. Void's body was transparent in a way. San could see some trees and whatnot through his brother. However, it quickly faded, and Void had his normal look of golden and yellow scales.
Void's center head chittered. I caught up. Anything to say now, Ni? The more aggressive head of Ghidorah muttered something, looking away from his brother, an annoyed look in his eyes.
All three of Void's heads were looking at Ghidorah. As the two flew through the forest, he wasn't watching what has in front of his path.
Ichi saw that his brother would end up flying straight into a tree. While they were still both pretty young and small, the large plants around here were incredibly resistant. All of them knew that even their dad had trouble knocking over the tougher ones, and he was a full-grown Ghidorah, what Ichi, Ni, and San would collectively grow up to be.
San noticed the danger as well, calling out to his brother in worry. Void, watch out for that tree!
The three heads of Void turned to look forward. He gasped in surprise and fright, though only his center mouth moved. Right before he was about to crash chest-first into the hardened tree, he became transparent once more and flew right through the tree as if there was nothing there. Once the tips of his two tails had passed through, Void reverted to normal.
Void turned around to face his brother. A thankful chitter came from the center and right heads, though only the middle truly reacted as if the right head had nothing.
Ni flinched. Ichi and San uncomfortably looked away. The young trio attached to one body hated being reminded of that one fact.
Void looked at them in confusion. The center head's mouth was the only one that opened when he chittered. What?
After a few seconds, the realization dawned on the young King of the Void. Wait... Oh. Oh... Sorry guys... Didn't mean to remind you of that.
It was a sensitive topic Ghidorah avoided vehemently. All three heads of Ghidorah had their own minds and personalities. That was not normal for their kind.
Most of Ghidorah's species only had one mind and one personality, usually in the center head. Such was the case for Void and his parents, but not for King Ghidorah.
In that way, they truly were more unique than even Void, who himself was an extreme oddity and different compared to mom and dad, who looked like what the trio would grow up into one day.
Their mood soured, and Ichi made a decision. Let's head back to the nest... The other two heads both chittered in agreement. After one sorry look, and the center and left heads of Void looking at each other, Void took off after his slightly younger sibling.
Present Day, Back on Earth
Ichi! Ichi!
The center head was confused. He was groggy and his vision wasn't entirely perfect at the moment. He heard the loud pouring of rain, the clap of thunder, and roars. Both from the other heads and something else. Huh? What's happening.
Ugh. Dammit, Ichi, wake up! The center head suddenly felt himself being tugged by his horns.
He fully woke up, stammering and quickly looking at the other two heads.
Where's... Where's Void?
Ni groaned. he knew Ichi must have had that memory or dream again. Right now, he needed their lead head wide awake.
In front of King Ghidorah, was Quetzalcoatl.
The colorful bird Titan from South America was looking at her Alpha, confused.
Alpha...? Her green, red, blue, and yellow feathers across her body and wings were soaking wet, rainwater hammering her body and the liquid dripping down her feathers.
Ichi, now wide awake, spoke. Who are you? His chitter was authoritative. He was the Alpha and had to sound strong and determined in front of one of his subjects.
Her yellow eyes looked up at the center head of Ghidorah. She spoke in a worried tone.
The few things she implied through her calls piqued the interest and confusion of all three heads.
I need your help.
