Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Contaminated Crusaders. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own MHA Shonen Jump, Kohei Horikoshi and a few others do.
Mina flipped through the air as Yuga flew backwards into the wall. Yuga was frozen solid around his stomach which stopped him from using his quirk.
"Ow…" Yuga let out before he slumped to the ground, in too much pain to do much of anything.
"I believe we should start a final countdown for the fight, folks!" The announcer put in which made Mina blink as she continued to dodge away from Todoroki.
"This has been a very interesting match." Momo put in as a countdown of 5 minutes started. "Mina might not have won, but her skills are commendable." Momo added which made Aace roll his eyes and turn to her.
"Mina would have a far better time if she could close the distance." Aace stated and watched Mina stumble and almost fall to the ground on the ice. "Most people from me to you would have had trouble on the ice. It isn't exactly easy to move on solid ice, you know." Aace said and cracked his fingers.
Tsuyu watched Mina flick some acid at a pillar Todoroki was taking cover behind. This forced the elemental quirk user to take cover once more.
"Me and ice don't mix well, Momo." Tsuyu stated which made Aace raise an eyebrow.
Then he remembered that Tsuyu had an animal related quirk. It made it more likely that she had their weaknesses.
"Exactly, ice is not good when your quirk works at short range." Aace said and pointed a gloved finger at himself. "Take me for example. If I had fought Todoroki and Yuga? I'd be having just as much if not worse a time then. Mina's quirk doesn't require her concentration to work, mine does. I'd be so busy focusing on the ice that I wouldn't be able to move around on it." Aace put in and let out a sigh.
Mina continued to flip and cartwheel through the parts of the field not too heavily frozen. Aace wondered if Todoroki had designed his costume to deal with the zero traction of ice.
He knew Mina had designed hers with the slippery properties of her acid in mind. It gave her a slight advantage when it came to maneuvering the area.
"I suppose there's a point there." Momo added and sighed. "My quirk relies on me having plenty of calories. Food isn't allowed in the fights which means I'd have very limited resources to work with." Momo put in which caused Aace to blink and turn to her.
Momo vaulted over a beam of ice as Todoroki aimed a fireball at her feet. Mina turned to the side and threw herself into a split.
"Mina is a very athletic person for someone with an acid quirk… Ribbit." Tsuyu put in as Aace scratched at the back of his head.
He blushed at how flexible his friend could be. Aace still remembered the time she pinned him to the ground during one of their practice fights.
"That… She is." Aace awkwardly said which made Tsuyu and Momo turn to him. "OH, NOT LIKE THAT! SHE'S MY BEST FRIEND! Seriously, why does everyone think we're dating? We just hang out often." Aace shouted and sighed. His face flushed a bright red under his helmet.
Momo and Tsuyu turned back to the fight. Neither had really considered the fact that Mina and Aace might be romantically connected.
Still? It took their attention off the fight below, there was 2 minutes left. The announcer flared up once more to announce another statement.
"IF WE DO NOT HAVE A WINNER WITHIN 2 MINUTES!? THIS MATCH WILL BE CONSIDERED A DRAW!" The announcer roared in a tone that caused the entire arena to wince.
"Ow…" Aace muttered as he growled in pain and punched the railing in front of him. "That hurt… A lot." Aace put in and leaned back in his seat before turning to watch the seconds tick down.
He had barely won his match with Gearhead. Aace could still feel the marks of where the rubber bullets had impacted his armor. Mina barely had a scratch on her due to Yuga and Todoroki deciding to target each other rather then the girl who was a short-range threat.
It didn't take away from the fact that despite Todoroki's best efforts? Mina had managed to dodge around everything that Todoroki had thrown at her.
"1-minute left to go!" The announcer put in as Aace hummed and clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
Aace blinked while sighing and watched the seconds tick down to 0. It would be an interesting semester at the school, Aace could tell that for a fact.
"I look forward to sharing a class with both of you." Aace said which caused Momo and Tsuyu to nod and smile.
"Likewise." Momo said before a massive siren sounded the tie of the match.
"YES!" Mina yelled before pausing to catch herself.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out I will make longer and hopefully more detailed fights soon. Next chapter will be in 2-3 weeks due to me being busy next week and will show more bonding between Aace and Mina. It will also show them discussing first classes. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: Next chapter is 1200 words. Rumi is 1200 words. Fuyumi, Jiro, Tsuyu, Nana and Midnight? Unknown for now as did the Ash story.
