So... Next chapter! Technically, it's been a while since I posted a new chapter, but I have recently rewritten the Prologue. I am still working on the other rewrites. Now, the decision I made in this chapter for a kaiju I'm introducing... well, I hope you enjoy it! I'm unsure how many chapters this will go for, but it's not ending anytime soon. I also apologize for not posting this earlier. Covid-19 is not a nice thing to have. Anyway, enough of my rambling, here's the chapter!

Disclaimer: All Titans and Kaiju are owned by Legendary or Toho, I don't own anything!

Chapter 9: New Arrivals

Somewhere in the Atlantic, Off the Coast of Morocco

As Mothra flew over the waters of the ocean, she couldn't help but worry.

And why wouldn't she? This whole situation the Queen of the Monsters found herself in was bad.

Most of the other kaiju have bowed to Ghidorah. She knows Manda. He is a kind and carefree creature. The serpent usually spends his time playing and swimming in the ocean depths.

However, things have changed drastically now.

No. This isn't just bad... My situation is much worse than anything before.

Mosura was right. No other problem before this point had been too big for the King and herself to solve.

The Jinshin-Mushi had killed Dagon a while back, and so many others, but their kind was nearly driven to extinction. The one problem was that Prime herself disappeared completely after implanting those eggs inside the green-colored Gojira.

Other troublesome kaiju were dealt with, mostly by the former Alpha alone. She only stepped in during those situations when Goji was really angry against some poor Titan that just so happened to overstep the boundaries on a bad day, or if there was a threat he couldn't face alone.

Amhuluk in particular was an interesting kaiju. Not just how he looks and works, although being literally made from plants is something unique to only their species. Amhuluk himself was particularly aggressive and violent.

The main problem was that he could never hold a territory. Whenever he did manage to beat another kaiju or found an empty place, another creature came along and kicked him out almost immediately.

The plant creature is powerful in his own right but nowhere near as strong as many others. One time, he was even bested by Kamacuras.

Mosura giggled just thinking about how that must have happened. Her mandibles chittered in amusement.

From what the blue plant-like creature told her, Kamacuras had managed to dodge most of his opponent's attacks. It all led to Amhuluk stumbling and falling to the ground. The green-blue mantis moved his scythe limbs up to the Inundator's neck and made him submit.

That loss, along with many more, made Amhuluk notorious for attacking(and losing) many territories against various other giant creatures.

Then, she heard a loud whirring noise nearby. Then another. And another. And another. Turning her blue eyes to the left, she could see the human's metal bird things flying near her.

In these new worrying times, nearly all humans are now allies in the fight against Ghidorah. However, across the planet, they are busy fighting or dealing with all the Titans that have bowed to the Devil with Three Heads, and are carrying out his orders to drive them to extinction.

The metal flying things veer off, heading towards the rapidly approaching shoreline.

The giant moth turns to follow them. Her wings continue beating through the air, flapping ever so faster in an attempt to keep up with the human's artificial things.

Despite her attempts to keep up, the group of metal things flew ahead.

Hmph... I know they've advanced a lot, but being faster than me!?

Oh, that won't do. I'm heading towards Baphomet, but there's no way a human can move faster than me!

Mosura is kind, benevolent, and incredibly friendly, but none of that will stop her from friendly competition.

Besides, she's raced other flying kaiju before, even other Divine Moths like her.

Mosura has won her fair share of competitions like a simple flying race before. They have been quite fun, even when she lost. It doesn't take much to lose, even if the only reason is that the other species is overall faster than her kind.

Now, she should really be going straight for Baphomet to talk to the antlered creature, but she can't help herself. Everyone sees her as kind and benevolent. Only a few of her close friends and Goji know of her more playful side.

Now, the race is on!

Mothra flapped her wings even stronger than before, sending herself forward with more force.

She tucked her limbs closer to her body. Every flap of her wings. The rush of the wind as she flew through the air. It was exhilarating.

The clouds further up are moving by so fast that she can't quite see them individually. They're all a blur at the speed she's moving.

Then, she could finally see them. She had caught up to the metal flying things.

Yes! Once more, the humans are no match for a Titan!

As Mosura chittered in excitement, the human things veered off again, this time heading north.

Odd. The direction they're going in. It might as well be the same as her.

They are going straight towards... Oh no.

They're going after Baphomet!

Now, her playful and positive attitude was gone. Argh, how did I not think of this!?

It made perfect sense. Humans are going after all of Earth's kaiju. They don't know the difference between the good and bad ones. As far as they know, she's the only one out of well more than 50 on the Surface that have all awoken at once.

Tiamat. Kumonga. Orochi. Behemoth. Manda. Leviathan. Rodan. Kamacuras. Sargon. Megaguirus.

From the perspective of a human, they are all just rampaging monsters determined to kill them.

Na Kika is the only one she knows isn't following the orders of the Golden Demise.

She has reasons to believe that the few former Alphas left alive won't bow to him either. There is a reason they all lost their position, and Godzilla was the one that held the role for so long, but they still aren't likely to bow to another Alpha.

Baphomet's reign as Alpha was short. Incredibly short.

In actuality, Baphomet's kind, the Black Antlered Cervids, aren't an Alpha Species.

He had barely managed to defeat the Alpha at the time, in a battle unrelated to the Alpha's position. Baphomet didn't care. He just wanted the Alpha Titan out of his territory.

Mosura had taught him how to actually perform an Alpha Call, as his kind doesn't naturally have one. He also learned everything about the position from her.

Despite it all, his rule didn't last long. There is a reason the ruler of all Titans usually comes from an Alpha Species, and not just any ordinary kaiju.

Mothra shook her head. Enough with these thoughts! She has to hurry before Baphomet is harmed by the humans, or too many lives are lost in a pointless fight.

She was nearing the source of the Alpha Call now. Fortunately, his Alpha Call is still weak and doesn't travel far. For sure, the other Titans nearby heard it. Sekhmet, Mokele, Komodithrax, and Manda. However, since it isn't a natural call, but rather a learned skill, it isn't powerful enough to echo across the world.

Ghidorah didn't hear it. If he did, then Baphomet would probably have sentenced himself to death by roaring like that.

Now, I just have to end this fight.

Humans have to learn. Baphomet isn't just another Titan following Ghidorah's orders. No. He's an ally in their fight. A fight they will win.

Jakarta, Indonesia

Zilla roared in panic as she ducked around another biped structure.

Every part of her body screamed in pain. Every muscle ached in exhaustion.

Yet, despite it all, she couldn't stop. Not now.

Zilla looked around, her yellow eyes wide in fear as she hurriedly took in her surroundings.

Her mind was racing. She was thinking about everything and anything all at once.

Through it all, her terrified mind settled on one thought. The Skull Devil.

Where... Where did it go!?

She didn't know where it went. She lost sight of the predator earlier. It must have ducked around a biped structure. However, it is still nearby. It has to be. It must know where she is.

Zilla growled, a weak snarling sound coming from her mouth. The nasty injury on her left leg still bled profusely. Every hurried step was a shock of pain coming from her injury.

Her dorsal plates glowed light green, an attempt at intimidation. Despite it, she felt it would not work. Those two-legged hunters are relentless. If she was like Godzilla, then they wouldn't even have dared attack her. Yet, she isn't like Gojira or Dagon. Only a related species. A weaker species.

Then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a sudden movement. A flash of green moving between two biped structures nearby.

Zilla roared, and her dorsal plates continued glowing. Blood continued to flow from the bite on her leg.

The injured leg was slightly held off the ground, and the heel lifted into the air. The crimson liquid flowed down the limb anyway, staining her blue scales and black claws.

The Skull Devil roared. She turned in the direction of the noise. Yet, there's only a biped nest.

Her yellow eyes darted around, looking in every direction for barely a second.

Then, she heard another rasping screech from the juvenile predator. Looking up, she could see it looking down at her from the top of a biped nest. It leaped off the tall nest, lunging down right towards her, jaws wide open.

Zilla didn't have any time to react. The Skull Devil landed on her back. She could feel his weight crash into her with full force.

And then, pain. An excruciating, unbearably agonizing pain.

The feeling of teeth ripping through her blue scales and into her flesh is something she couldn't describe, except for one word. Pain.

Zilla cried out in pain as the Skullcrawler tore into her side.

The ravenous animal savored the taste of iron in his mouth. Blood. Once more, his prey is wounded. it won't be long now until this thing is brought down. Then, he'll have a whole Small Atomic Breather all to himself! What luck!

Zilla turned her head towards the Skull Devil. Her expression was one of absolute fear and desperation, yet her actions showed otherwise.

Her jaws clamped down on the Skull face's tail, and she pulled hard. The animal screeched in surprise as he was flung away, right into the side of a biped structure.

Dazed by the impact, he shook his body, ridding himself of any debris that had fallen on top of him. Then, he heard a low rumbling sound.

Turning towards his prey, he could see that her dorsal plates are glowing green. Her mouth is also partially open, and a green glow can be seen in the back of her throat.

Zilla's eyes turned from yellow to green.

The look of fear in her eyes was now gone, or at the very least, masked by the green glow.

The Skullcrawler cried out in panic, knowing what was about to happen. Yet, as he tried to move out of the indent created when he was smashed into the building, he was hit.

A beam of pure atomic energy and heat, glowing a shade of green as blight as a blue beam. The ray hit the Skull Devil squarely on his bony white head.

The creature shut his eyes, roaring in pain.

As Zilla fired her atomic breath, she slowly rose to her feet. Although, she was still shaky with two bleeding wounds on her, and already physically worn out.

However, she couldn't fire the beam forever. As the beam stopped, the glow on her dorsal plates and in her eyes subsided. Her yellow eyes turned to their normal color, and her dark blue dorsal plates regained their normal look as well.

As for the Skull Face. His white bone-like head is now severely burned, and one of his eyes is completely gone, as far as she can tell. However, it didn't get up.

She expected the predator to enter a rage, and charge straight at her in another fearsome attempt to kill her.

Yet, it didn't move. She took a step towards it. No movement from the other creature. She snarled, the guttural sound emanating from her throat. No response to that either.

As Zilla moved closer to the animal, she realized that there was no rising and falling on his side, which is a clear sign of breathing.

If the Skull Devil isn't breathing...

Oh my... This was too close for comfort. Ugh, the pain...

With her foe now dead, she turned around. She hadn't expected the blast to kill the beast, merely burn it. Her best guess was that her fear and desperation were put into making that blast more powerful and usual, which is what allowed her to kill it. At least, that's her best guess.

Now, Zilla decided that enough was enough.

She couldn't help Godzilla with these injuries. Her mate can help her.

Zilla turned back to the direction of the tunnel.

It's much earlier than she wanted to, and under completely different circumstances, yet it must be done, for her very survival.

It's time to go back Underground.

Colombian Coast, Somewhere Near Buenaventura

Sargon slumped to the ground, letting a chittering sound escape his mandibles.

The beetle kaiju's landing on the sand kicked up a small cloud of the yellow-white substance. It dissipated shortly afterward.

Sargon didn't blink when all the sand was kicked up. His turquoise eyes remained wide open.

Yet, as the giant beetle stared at the ground, he finally snapped. Being an insectoid creature, he couldn't physically show many emotions, but his mind was racing.

Why?

That one question. That one word. It repeated itself again and again in his mind.

Why?

This entire situation. The mess he found himself in.

Why?

Before going into slumber, everything was perfect! He lived in peace on this continent. Yet it only took one day after waking up for everything he knew to fall apart.

Why?

Humans. Those fascinating little bipedal creatures. Those things don't pose any threat to him. Normally, he wouldn't even hurt a Meganulon, yet now...

Why?

Sargon made another sound. It was hushed, yet unmistakably sad.

Yet, despite it all, the red and blue beetle just couldn't stop thinking about what he did.

No. I didn't do that much... Alpha did most of the work. Yeah. And... And Quetzal helped him! I didn't... No... I did...

Sargon tried to rationalize it all. He tried to pin the blame on other kaiju. Everything to lessen the impact, the guilt he experienced.

Despite it all, he just couldn't excuse his actions.

He attacked the humans at their containment place.

He attacked all the ones along the way.

He attacked that group of biped nests.

The only ones that deserved to be attacked were the ones that captured him. Only them. The rest of them were innocent. Yet still, he attacked them all. He could have chosen to ignore the Alpha Call, to leave the humans in peace, and remain his peaceful self in the rainforests and mountains.

Sargon is normally a complete pacifist. The beetle prefers to be left alone, and remain peacefully within his territory on the continent. Even when attacked, Sargon would normally try to run away, and only fights defensively. Yet still, even when aggressively attacked, he fights only to make his opponent retreat or allow himself to flee.

That Alpha Call... Why does he want us to destroy the humans? Why? It's... Fighting... There's no point...

Sargon had never seen the False King up until now. He was genuinely terrifying and powerful. A giant golden hydra, much bigger than himself and Quetzalcoatl. It must be even larger than the previous Alpha. What's more, the Golden Demise has three heads. Three.

Yes, Orochi has eight, but the black dragon is much smaller, and he only has one personality anyway.

Either way, he could tell that the Devil with Three Heads truly lives up to that nickname. All six red eyes showed nothing but malice during the whole fight.

Those yellow beams of electricity caused so much chaos and destruction—more than he ever could.

Sargon could bet that one bite from any of those jaws would cause more damage than the beetle has generated in his entire life using the blue horn at the front of his head.

The new Alpha is an evil and malevolent Titan. No wonder he wants the humans dead. And he helped the Golden Terror in that goal, even if only a little.

Sargon made the same sad chittering sound again. Could he still call himself a pacifist? After what he did for the Alpha, he wasn't sure anymore.

Yet, he made a decision.

No more destruction. No more chaos. No more deaths. At least not by his horn.

Not anymore.

Sargon would not attack any more humans without provocation. He could only hope that they could still distinguish between good and bad kaiju, like the ones of old used to.

And as for Ghidorah...

Screw that Three-Headed freak... He's the Alpha, but I'm not attacking one more human nest. If he wants help, it better be purely defensive.

East of Warsaw, Poland

Of all the Titans residing on the surface of Earth, there was still a small minority Monarch just never found. The dormant kaiju without Outposts built around them were much quieter in their awakening and weren't discovered as new species until the nearest city was under attack.

One such case was near Benghazi, Libya, where a completely new lizard-like kaiju rose out of the sand a few miles from the city. This new Titan marched on the Libyan city, where Monarch learned of its existence.

A few other new Titans rose in random locations across the world, but due to the current crisis, it is unlikely most of them will be assigned a species for a while.

Now, an ancient creature, completely foreign to the world it currently resides in, is about to be awoken very late by the Alpha Call.

A creature resembling an arthropod burst through the dirt and rocks.

His dull yellow and red armor glistened in the sunlight as the kaiju emerged from underground.

The Titan shook itself, throwing off stray bits of rock, dirt, and other debris that stuck to his armor and tail.

As his red eyes finally opened, the Titan chittered in delight as he emerged into the sunlight.

He blinked a few times, his eyes taking a moment to adjust to the sunlight. After all, he hasn't even seen it for several million years.

His six dull yellow legs began to move, taking the kaiju across the ground.

He is very small for a terrestrial kaiju, only being as tall as "Rodan", some volcanic bird thing that exists here.

The kaiju chittered in confusion. Ugh... What... What woke me up? Why am I awake now?

This is too strange. For some reason, he was forcefully awoken from his slumber.

But... What or who could do that, and why?

It was all a muddled mess in his mind. Then, his ears picked up on a sound echoing through the air.

The noise is some sort of roar. Along with it, there's a message.

Awaken from slumber. Destroy the bipeds. Obey your Alpha.

Then, sudden stabbing pain filled his head.

It's almost as if twenty sharp claws were ramming themselves into his mind.

Awaken from slumber. Destroy the bipeds. Obey your Alpha.

Crion couldn't bear the noise flooding into his head. The Hunter tried to cover his ears, but his kind doesn't have any kind of forelimbs. He only has 6 small legs for walking along the ground.

Then, the pain stopped. Just as quickly as it came, it ended.

His hearing isn't hypersensitive enough to cause a reaction like that to a mere distant call. Whatever that roar was, it affects his kind in some dangerous way.

Crion chittered in relief as the pain faded from his mind. His pedipalps moved a little, just as a random movement that occasionally happens.

The Hunter glanced around. His numerous legs began to slowly and simultaneously move along the ground.

As the arthropod creature skittered along the ground, he knocked over several trees. Not on purpose of course. He may be a smaller Titan, but still much bigger than any regular animal. Just walking around in a forest like this is bound to leave a path of destruction.

Trees... Such interesting little plants. Nothing quite like these back home.

Crion would've rolled his eyes. He was talking to himself again. Then again, he couldn't blame himself. He's the last of his kind around here.

The rest of them are so far away now. Far. Very far... So very far away...

The arthropod creature stopped walking. The trees right in front of him were seconds away from being toppled over by him merely moving along.

He couldn't deny or forget what happened. He doesn't belong here. He never has. He had tried to fit in. Make new friends.

All of those efforts failed. There just wasn't any other kaiju like his kind native to this world. That fact was a bit discouraging at first.

Sargon seemed peaceful enough, but the "beetle", as he was called, was a bit too passive.

That bird-like green one. What was his name? Gigan... Yeah, that's it. The flightless bird was cocky, arrogant, and not that nice. He did endlessly complain about not being able to fly.

Anguirus seemed like a nice kaiju. It was too bad that he died shortly after the two first met.

That "Gojira" only seemed to care about his "role" on the planet. He never truly found a good one, but nothing bad either. It was just a strange in-between. Crion just didn't fit in.

And how could I fit in with the others? Even if they knew it, it just seemed impossible to fit in as an alien kaiju.

Crion chittered in frustration. There I go again, talking to myself...

The Hunter continued his pace. Several more trees were crushed along his path of unavoidable destruction.

Soon, the cluster of trees ended. The area opened up to empty lands of grass.

What the land is like doesn't matter much to a Titan. Crion just continued walking, his six small legs continuously taking steps along the ground.

Then, his mind wandered back to that strange and painful call. That message implanted itself in his head. Awaken from slumber. Destroy the bipeds. Obey your Alpha.

The message is clear and simple. Awaken from slumber. Yes, that Crion could understand easily. The call somehow forced him to wake up.

Destroy the bipeds. Now, this part is more confusing to the Hunter. He's seen only two truly obvious bipedal Titans, both mammals. Baphomet and an Ape. But, that can't be right, can it?

Why would someone want specifically those two species dead? Unless... The target isn't them.

Finally, the connection clicked inside his head. Those tiny bipedal sentients! Of course! The sentients! That's the target of whoever made that call!

Yet still, a question remained. He had seen those sentients before. Granted, it has been a while, so they most likely have advanced in the time he was dormant, but they are small, primitive, and not that large in numbers.

Hm... I wonder. Could they be as powerful now as the... No. No. They can't possibly have. There's just no way that the sentients on this planet could have advanced enough to compete with them, there's just no way.

Now then, there's the third and final part of the roar. Obey your Alpha. Again, the meaning is simple, yet he couldn't quite understand it. He is an Alpha variant of his species. That doesn't mean he has any power over the rest of his kind. He's on the bottom. He only takes orders from the Betas and the Queen.

There's no way another one of his kind could have made that roar. He would know if there was another Hunter on the planet.

This world... Foreign planets are just so strange...

Crion knew that his place here might change. Whatever is happening, it won't be good. For him, or any of the local Titans.

The arthropod creature made a chittering sound. His eyes briefly wandered around. There, he could see something white. He stopped moving for a moment. Then, he backed up in fear. A skeleton. One of his kind. One of his former friends.

That sight reignited a memory he had tried so hard to forget.

When his kind first arrived here, it ended very badly.

The Trilopods had landed here so long ago, and it all led to Crion being the last one alive in this foreign world.

So, you guys might be wondering who this Crion is. You also might be thinking "What the heck is a Trilopod?" If you do know, nice. If you don't, then I can tell you all. The Trilopods are an alien kaiju species that appear in the IDW comic book series Godzilla: Rulers of Earth. They serve as the main antagonistic force by the end of the series, forcing Godzilla and the rest of Earth's kaiju to band together and face this threat. I won't spoil much of it, the comics are really good. What I will say is that the Trilopods have a unique ability, one which will play an important role later. As for the sections involving the other kaiju, I hope you enjoyed those as well. I personally really enjoyed writing a bit more backstory for Amhuluk, even if he's only appeared once so far.
