In a world where humans evolved to have super powers dubbed quirks, now a days 80% of the population has a quirk and the 20% that didn't get one are looked down upon by the rest of society. But what if a quirkless person broke the limits of humans and used it for good. This is what if Deku was one punch man.
An 8 year old boy named Izuku Midoriya was sitting in front of the computer in his room. Ever since he heard he didn't have a quirk and that his goals of becoming a hero were totally ridiculous by the quirk doctor he was a bit more sad. He didn't have any friends to hang out with since his only friend now is his bully and any other friend he tries to make walks away after hearing he doesn't have a quirk, or looks at him with pity, but that pity would end when he starts to talk about becoming a hero and they two just walk away. His room was still full of All Might posters and other merchandise, even the limited edition ones. Even if his dream was almost impossible he could still love heroes, he could even become a detective with his large knowledge on quirks and his fast thinking mind and with that big mind of his he figured out that his father, Hisashi Midoriya isn't away on some business trip like his mom told him. He just left, he found that out after doing some research online.
But his life would totally change on his 8 birthday. Izuku who was still sitting in his room looked outside heard something outside, so he opened his window and saw a hero fighting a villain. The Midoriya residents wasn't that high up so Izuku could see perfectly what was going on. The boy was very excited, he loved heroes. The villain had a quirk that made him able to throw lightning bolts. The villain threw one at the hero but it mist and the hero Death arms was able to subdue him. But what no one noticed was what the lightning bolt hit. It hit a pipe line in the building where Izuku lives, the pipe line exploded and the whole entrance hall was on fire. When Death Arms knocked the villain out he noticed, but the heroes quirk didn't do anything against fire so he called for backup. After five minutes Kamui Woods and Backdraft arrived, but the fire had already spread to the higher floors the people on the first floor just jumped out of the window, it wasn't that high any way. But the fire already reached the second floor. Izuku had closed the window immediately after Death arms had defeated the villain. But when his door caught fire he noticed, before he knew his window got broken and the hero Kamui Woods jumped in and said he was there to save him. Izuku was about to take his hand before he heard his mother, Inko Midoriya scream. He realized that they hadn't saved his mother yet. Izuku's legs moved on their own and he pulled the door open slightly because the handle wasn't on fire and then kicked the door in, he saw his mother on the other end of the hallway, but they couldn't reach her because the hole hallway was on fire. Izuku cried and screamed for his mother. Inko knew she wasn't going to make it, a big wooden plate from the ceiling had crushed her legs so she couldn't move. Inko screamed at Izuku "Mom is going to take a nap for a while, please take of yourself, don't get in any trouble and be the hero you always wanted to be. Don't forget you will always be my little hero" as she finished the apartment floor was crumbling and Kamui Woods who was there picked izuku up and ran to the window in the boys room. Izuku was crying and pleading for his mom to come with him, but as they jumped out of the window he could see the whole apartment crumble down. He cried and cried into the shoulder of Kamui Woods who had a few tears coming down his cheek two, but luckily you couldn't see it through the mask he was wearing. This was the first death he had ever seen and he would never forget the face and the name, Izuku Midoriya.
AT THE POLICE STATION
Half an hour later Kamui Woods brought Izuku to the police, Kamui left after that. They looked into the file of Izuku and saw that the father was divorced from his mother, but when they asked Midoriya he just said his dad left so he was clearly not informed of that fact. But when they looked further into his file they saw something that wouldn't be good for him in the orphanage, he was quirkless. The officers really pitied the kid no mother, no father, no power. But as they didn't have another choice they still put him in the orphanage even though they knew quirkless kids didn't get adopted. The money of the fathers child support will still go to Midoriya, but it will be put on his saving account and he will be able to claim it when he is 10.
AT THE ORPHANAGE
A police car dropped Izuku of at the orphanage, the police man gave the papers to the old woman who was the orphanage keeper. After the question of the police the police office Izuku hadn't said a word, the words of his mother kept replaying in his head. "Become the hero you always wanted to be" is what she said, so that is what he would do. He always thought not all humans were created equal and he was right, there were those who were born strong and those who were born weak, but Izuku wasn't going to accept that and he would destroy his barrier forcefully if he had to. And Izuku made there and then a resolve to never skip a day of training, to push himself to the brink of death all to become the number one hero and he would do it with a smile.
6 YEARS LATER
Izuku Midoriya could be seen walking home with 2 grocery bags. He had left the orphanage from the moment he was 10, because the orphanage keeper (the old woman) didn't like quirkless people. Her brother got killed by one, so she never actually gave Izuku anything. If he wanted food he needed to get it himself, out of the fridge or in the mall and attention is one thing he most certainly didn't get. So from the moment Izuku turned 10 he claimed all the money on his savings account and hired a cheap apartment, it wasn't big but big enough for a 15 year old living on his own. Izuku hadn't seen his childhood friend turned bully either since the accident. Katsuki must have heard about it, but the orphanage that he went to was on the other side other side of Musutafu and there where multiple schools in Musutafu so they didn't go to the same school anymore. He had two jobs to make up for the money he is spending to pay for school, his appartement and later in live UA, he still had the dream of becoming a hero and he finally had the power to do so. When Izuku got home he put the bags on the floor and emptied them, putting everything where it belonged. When he was finished he sat down, he was reminiscing about the past. He could still remember the day he broke his limits.
FLASHBACK
Izuku was 12 now and was cleaning a beach, it was full with trash since a few years ago. You could barely recognize it was a beach at this point. Izuku knew that it would be good to clean the beach so he started about 3 months ago and he was already almost finished. He had been working out since he was 8 so he had the body that looked like he was some Greek God. Every day Izuku did 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, 100 squats and a 10 km run. But with that he now also cleaned the beach. But one day something in him just clicked . After 3 months of cleaning the beach he felt something in him break, he could move as fast as he wanted, he could create shockwaves with his punches and he cleaned the rest of the beach in a few seconds. To him every piece of garbage felt so weightless, it never felt heavy, but never weightless. Somehow Izuku just knew he just did it, he broke his limits.
FLASHBACK ENDS
He continued to train to figure out how to control his power for about 1 more year, perfecting his control so he wouldn't accidentally kill someone and then just continued his normal training routine to make sure he wouldn't lose the power to become the number 1 hero. It was only 10 more months till the entrance exam.
ENTRANCE EXAM
Izuku reached UA and looked at the massive building in awe, normally he wouldn't show this much interest in anything but this was his dream, the dream he promised his mother he would for fill. With a high head he walked into the entrance exam, he looked down and saw a uneven plate sticking up in the floor. "If I was stressed, I most definitely would have tripped over that" Izuku thought. As Izuku walked in he picked a random seat and went to sit down, a blond boy with spikey hair came and sat beside him since that was one of the only open spots. They both gave a quick look at each other and thought "I swear that I know him from somewhere". But they couldn't think further on it since the written exams where being handed out.
45 MINUTES LATER
The UA hopefuls got 2 hours for the written exam, but Izuku was done after 45 minutes and he was the first one to finish, he was allowed to leave the room and he entered another room. This room was exactly like the previous one, except the pro hero Present Mic stood on the podium. The pro was confused and looked at his phone and he was right the kid finished the written exam in 45 minutes and it wasn't easy by any means. The pro was interested and went to talk to the Midoriya, when he arrived he asked "hey kiddo, what's your name?" Izuku just answered that it was Izuku. Present Mic followed up with asking how he thought he did in the written portion of the exam, Izuku said that he probably had the whole thing right, because he trained for a long time before the UA exam he didn't have to start the last few months with training like the other lazy kids had to and he could dedicate himself to studying. Mic smiles and said that was smart from you kid, when did you start training, Izuku answered that he started when he was 8 years old and he hasn't skipped a single day of training. Mic was surprised he expected something like 2 years, but if he trained from 8 he has been training for 7 years. Mic knew that to train every day since he was still a little kid, he needed to have unrivalled drive. So Mic asked "why did you train that hard?", when Izuku heard the question his head dropped and he said "on my 8 birthday my mother died in a fire, and since my father already divorced her and made it clear to not want anything to do with me, I got put into an orphanage since everybody on either side of the family is dead. I promised my mom I would become the number one hero right before her death, I WILL NOT FAIL HER" that last part Izuku spoke with so much conviction that Present Mic was in awe. He felt sorry for Izuku but he tried and brighten the air a bit "But you got adopted, right? I mean you were in the orphanage" Izuku saddened even more and said "Quirkless kids don't get adopted". Now Present Mic didn't know what to say anymore, this kid had all the cards stacked against him, no parents, no quirk and the chances of him passing this exam where also very small without a quirk. Present Mic not knowing what to say anymore just said that he was sorry and wished him luck before walking away.
1 HOUR AND 15 MINUTES LATER
The exam time was over and all the people were in the other room, the blond kid Izuku knew from somewhere sat next to him and that is when he remembered.
10 MONTHS EARLIER
Izuku was doing his usual 10 km run but decided to do a bit more than usual. When he was running down the main street he heard a few explosions go off and decided he would have a look. When he watched he saw a crowd stand from a distance watching as a villain made out of sludge was trying to take over someone and the heroes were just watching. Then he heard someone whisper something about that the heroes were waiting for someone with a suitable quirk to turn up. This infuriated him and he just calmly walked in with a blank look on his face. The heroes tried to stop him, but he was too close to the villain already for them to do anything. The villain smiled and said in a rough voice "Ow, look what we have here, a kid that wants to play the hero" when he finished the sentence he redirected an explosion that was aimed for him by the kid he was trying to take over, but before it could hit the kid he disappeared and reappeared behind the villain. Izuku took Bakugo's arm and said "normal punch" and just with the wind pressure alone the sludge villain got blown in the air and landed back down in pieces. Everybody was in awe of the power a few seconds later it started to rain, his punch changed the weather. They all started applauding as the heroes walked towards him, kind of in awe but they had to do this. Mt. Lady looked at him and said "kid, however powerful you are what you just did was dangerous and .." but Izuku cut her of "dangerous? That's the problem with you lot, from the moment things get to dangerous you get scared and wait for another hero to do it! The thing about heroes is that they save not just pose up for the camera's, they save people even if they didn't ask for it, even if it is at the risk of their own life, real heroes will risk everything to save anyone they can reach!" as he was finished he started to walk away, none of the heroes could say anything they knew they should have done something, but they didn't wanna risk it. Before Izuku was too far away a reporter asked his name, Izuku turned around with a comforting smile on his face, different from that from All Might but it had the same effect "Izuku Midoriya, I will be the number one hero and bring to piece true Japan" with that he began running again. The camera's never stopped filming so everything was caught on camera. His speech touched a lot of people, a black haired man with no nose and a lot of knifes smiled and smiled thinking that there was at least one real hero in the making, a blond girl was blushing and mumbling on about how she wanted to see him bleed, a blonde man in the crowd was inspired, a black haired guy in the progress of dyeing his hair red wanted to be like him because when he got in a situation like that he was scared and stood still and a certain wooden hero remembered that face and said "you grew up well, kid".
FLASHBACK ENDS
Present Mic explained the practical portion of the exam until a certain blue haired student interrupted him saying that there were 4 robots not 3. Present Mic was a bit irritated and didn't let the kid mumble on about UA standards and said "before you interrupted me I was going to explain, the last one is the 0 pointer, a giant that isn't even worth any points so you shouldn't bother it" With that everyone got lead to their predetermined test sights.
AT HIS TEST SIGHT
Izuku arrived at his test sight and just focused on the giant door in front of him. He didn't wanna get distracted by anything else so he tuned everything out until he heard the door go open and he sprinted in. All the people could see was a green flash, they looked confused at Present Mic who was there and he was the one to open the door and he said "What are you lot waiting for? There are no count downs in a real battle, follow that kid" and with that they entered they saw one big massacre. Every single robot was taken out by one kid in only about 30 seconds, so everyone in his test site had to come back the day after.
TEACHERS LOUNCH
All the teachers were flabbergasted, the kid scored 600 point in less than 30 seconds. Nezu first instinct was to press the one pointer in that zone, so that is what he did. The teachers were confused on why Nezu did that, and he answered with "Just trying to measure his true power, because he is already way faster than All Might, but the 0 pointer can only be defeated by raw power" they all accepted that reason and looked at the screen.
BACK WITH IZUKU
Izuku ran another round looking for robots but didn't find any. He questioned if he maybe went a bit overboard, but then felt the ground tremble. It was a giant 0 pointer, it was taller than the skyscrapers in the test sight and the only one left in the test sight was Izuku himself, so he understood what he had to do. So he jumped up and screamed "serious upper cut" and the robot got blown to bits and a massive line can be seen going through the clouds. Now all the teachers knew they had found the next All Might.
