Vali Lucifer, a descendant of the first devil and emperor of the white dragon, was thinking about one thing right now.

"I should NOT be here."

The 12-year-old boy is currently stumbling around in the shadows of what appears to be a research lab, avoiding touching anything for fear of it blowing up in his face.

"You should have just listened to Azazel." As his sacred gear chastised him, he reacted with a twitch.

Sh! - Shut up! The vessel weakly countered.

It had been a year since Azazel had picked him up and taken him away from the hellhole that was his former home. It was awkward at first, but thanks to his adoptive father's openness, the barrier quickly vanished. As a result, as their relationship progressed, he was given more freedom to move as long as he swore to keep his sacred gear, divine dividing, a secret.

However, some of that got into the boy's head.

"You're tenacious and determined. I'll give you that. But entering a place he clearly stated was easy to get lost in and saying, quote, "I don't need that stuffy old man to tell me where to go," is just a little reckless in hindsight?" The dragon persisted, no matter how many injuries he inflicted on the boy's ego.

"At least I didn't start a fight that would end the world for no reason." In response to the dragon's scolding, the victim mumbled.

"Let's face it, we're lost."

The realization finally set in with these last words.

He finally comes to a halt and raises his arms in rage. "OKAY! I GET I-"

*BEEP*

Before he could finish that sentence, he appeared to press a button on some device. If you were a typical man's height, he would be aware of the situation.

Vali was currently not.

His partner beckoned to him out loud without fanfare.

"Vali get back!"

The half-breed jumped back without hesitation as the machine began to spew a rainbow of colors.

"What is it?"

"The power from that device is comparable to the dimension gap whatever you do NOT get caught up in that without any preparation."

Vali's eyes widened. The dimension gap is the space between earth and the underworld. It used to be a world of nothingness. If a heavenly dragon warns you about something, you should pay attention.

Vali had to cover his eyes as the light increased to avoid becoming blind, and then-

*BZZT!*

It started to short circuit. Vali doesn't need Albion's input to figure out when to book it as the sight of the device emitting electricity is already enough of a bad sign.

"All right, let's go look for Azazel before it's too late—"

Suddenly, terrifying images began to enter his mind without warning.

A nation in ruins.

A massive hollow insect that looks like it came straight from hell, draining the land of all life.

As the island began to disintegrate, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye.

The look of something falling

"Wait a second, is that-"

What the boy had seen were the remnants of the world's guardian dragon.

But it was devoid of sentimental attachments, of goals to achieve, and possessions to preserve.

It was nothing more than a solitary husk that was falling apart and dropping rapidly.

The only thing that came to mind was...

His thoughts kept returning to a single word: "sad."

He saw dragons as powerful, formidable beings capable of tackling the entire globe. Whether they won or lost, they were magnificent. But to see one reduced to such a state... sorrowful was the only word to describe it in his eyes.

A then voice priced his skull at this moment without any warning.

"Agh!"

『—SEARCHING

『—SEARCHING. SEARCHING—

"A-Albion?" The boy asked unsteadily, clutching his head in pain.

After that, there was silence.

Another voice could then be heard here at this time.

"—,—"

"—a, A—"

It was soft, as if something with little strength was trying to cry out.

What surprised him was that it came from the plunging dragon, whose life he assumed had long since vanished.

It then continued to call out steadily as its body ignited back to life.

"—A."

"Aa, ah—"

Vali's eyes widened as he sensed the dragon's desire to defend this land and its inhabitants, as its small cry transformed into a furious scream from its broken throat.

"Ah—Ah."

"A, AAAAAHHHH...!"

Captivated by its drive, in a trance the boy said one word.

"Go."

The jet engine roars. Its decrypted wings spread, it soared as its scales peeled off both of them knowing this would be its last flight as it started breaking apart. But they did not care!

Vali could only watch in wonder as kept on saying one word in his head

"Go."

"Go!"

"GO!"

"GO!"

Slowly but surely as the dragon started its attempt at its last flight Vali's voice changed from whisper to a chant cheering the dragon for reasons beyond his understanding.

"Higher! Go even higher! GO!"

Vali froze when it looked like the dragon was about to fall apart right then and there.

And then the voice in his head returned once more clad in steel determination.

REASONING: IRRELEVANT.

PURPOSE: COMPLETE AND THOROUGH ANNIHILATION OF THE THREAT TO BRITAIN

As it dashes towards the insect of hell the dragon eye's truly ablaze once more finally spoken.

"My name is-"

Everything turned white before he could hear its name.

Then he was back in the laboratory.

The halfling spoke abruptly after a brief period of confusion.

"What th-"

Before he could continue, a summoning circle appeared in front of the machine's slowly dimming light.

It was a circle he had never seen before, neither from the devil, the fallen angel, or any other mythos.

As a result, he became even more cautious of it.

Then there was a tug.

As the circle flashed and light appeared, an unidentified voice responded.

"Contract… Complete."

It was a girl with white hair.

She was hardly taller than him, wearing strange armor. "What's up with the mini skirt?" with rose-like patterning and two fin-like gauntlets

"Servant, Lancer. Fairy Knight, Lancelot h-"

She froze in mid-sentence, her eyes wide open as if she had just encountered a ghost.

After getting over his shock, which was quickly replaced by rage, he activated his sacred gear, took a combat stance, and called back.

"Who the hell are you?!"

In response, she took a single, cautious step in his direction, but did not respond."

"Okay, you're asking for-"

She then appeared in front of him in a blink of an eye, holding his face, gazing into his silver eyes with her gold until she finally gave a response.

"No.."

Her voice filled with sorrow and disappointment.

"No, you're not him"

"Get the heck off me!"

When she finally realized what she was doing, she let go of Vali and had the tact to seem as though she was embarrassed by what she had done.

However, before anything else, the conversation could be interrupted by a voice.

"WAIT, VALI!"

"What exactly are you-" He paused, taken aback by how open his partner spoke in front of an unknown individual.

Ignoring his partner, he continued to speak to what appeared to be a small child.

"Who… no, what are you?"

"…"

Unfazed by the disembodied voice, she started to stare at the two, clasping her hand under her chin and nodding, as if updating herself on the situation based on her own assumptions.

"Albion, I'm amazed at how quickly you caught on." She finally responded.

But what most caught the young dragon emperor's attention more than anything.

Was that she aware of the name of his sacred gear without mentioning it.

He immediately elevated his guard even higher than before. His eyes become more alert as he tries to determine how dangerous she is. Few people are familiar with his equipment, and even fewer can identify it at a glance.

"Hmph, the red one would mock me if I couldn't recognize my own signature."

"Wait... WHAT!" his wielder being baffled by said new info

All the girl did was smile, for some apparent reason that pissed the boy off.

"It seems I do owe you two an explanation."

X-X-X

Vali's expression could only be described as monumentally confused. Similar to how a person's brain overloaded while trying to solve a math problem

"So, what you're saying..."

He motions toward his so-called "servant."

"Is that you come from another world."

She gave a nod.

"Where heroes from the past are called upon to defend humanity"

"Not always true, but in general, yes." She provided him with feedback."

"Yes, that whatever, and you're one of the heroes mentioned." He persisted.

She nodded once more.

"But what more is that you're not even from the said world but one adjacent."

"Mhm, and they're called lostbelts."

Despite her protests and his growing rage, he persisted.

"And to top it all off you were born from Abilion's dead flesh... became a fairy... and then fused with one of the KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE, AM I MISSING ANYTHING?!"

Anyone can see from this unique girl's explanation that the boy is becoming increasingly irritated.

But the girl in question seemed unconcerned, if at all.

"Actually, quite a bit, but that's the general idea."

His vein began to pulsate, indicating that he had apparently exhausted his patience.

"Okay, that nonsense."

The girl pouted slightly, as if surprised by the response.

"Rude."

"Well, I couldn't give a damn! No matter how much you try to explain it, no one is going to buy it!"

"Vali... come on... she has a point. After all, she had been summoned by the device that opened the dimension chasm, the chasm between worlds."

Overall, this was a compelling argument. If only the dragon's voice wasn't trembling, as if he was struggling to accept reality.

So, Vali, of course, ignores him.

But, before he starts yelling again, he had a brilliant idea.

He then turns to face the girl with a slightly sinister grin.

"So, then! If you are admittedly my 'servant,' then..."

He gives her a snide look.

"Would you murder someone for me?"

Vali gave himself a mental pat on the back.

"She ought to be in a panic by now, of course you're not going to take it, you're just some brat spewing gibberish,"

"Sure."

Without hesitation, she replied. The boy anticipated that she'll immediately deny it and treat him like he's insane for even thinking about it.

But all he received in return was a soft, warm gaze and a face that suggested nostalgia, making her seem much older than she certainly seemed.

He was completely paralyzed from this reaction as a result and can only look in silence while his mind is racing.

For the first time since they met, he truly looked at her and came to understand that she was no ordinary child.

But underneath all of this astonishment, there was a glimmer of hope in the form of a simple remark.

"Could... C-could she do it?"

This thought lasted only a fraction of a second before the silence was broken by a voice.

"Vali!"

"Where have you gone, kid?"

Of course, the initial reaction was panic.

"Oh no—"

He then quickly moves on to the previously mentioned source of panic.

"Hide quickly!"

"Huh-"

Before she could react, he shoved her into an arbitrary closet and quickly turned to avoid arousing suspicion from his caretaker as he entered the room.

"Hah, there you are. I've spent an hour looking for you." Azazel sighed and scratched the back of his neck. "I've already warned you not to go into this area."

The boy has no other option but to sulk and apologize.

"So- sorry..."

Seeing the boy already understanding what was wrong, the fallen angel felt that to let bygones be bygones as he patted the kid's white hair.

"All that matters is that you're safe, but seriously, you're fortunate to have entered one of the riskier rooms."

"So," Vali said as he posed fake interest in his surroundings. "What do you do in here?"

At those words the eyes of the thousand-year-old angel twinkled like a child's.

"Well, as you can see!" He was overjoyed when his adopted child expressed an interest in his work.

He smacks the recently used item. "This baby right here is a dimension connector/communicator."

The boy was obviously baffled after hearing so many complex terms at once, so the speaker continued.

"There has always been a hypothesis that crossing the dimensional gap, also known as the void between worlds, can lead us to an entirely new planet, and our little experiment was designed to put that little theory to the test."

Vali nods slowly digesting the information and replies, "I see.

"To be more precise, it seeks energy signatures similar to ours."

Who could tell if Azazel noticed the boy's tiny fidget at that sentence because afterwards, he continued on as he sighs. "However, we have yet to receive any signals," Despite his words as he pumps his fist, the strangely youthful sparkle in his eyes returns. "But I can feel it in my bones, it feels like we're getting closer by the day!"

"More than you realize, old man." Was thought but not said by the silver hair individual.

"Well then," Azazel says as he starts to walk away. "I believe it's time to get going," he says to Vali. "You're coming?"

The Satan prince jumps a little, taken aback to be put on the spot.

"O-oh! Sure, I will leave as soon as I get some things."

If the fallen angel had noticed the boy's slight panic, he didn't show it; instead, he shrugged and walked away, but not before giving him a long look that made the white dragon emperor flinch a little.

"He must have thought he broke something, regardless... He must be working hard if his aura has grown so large of late."

X-X-X

"You believe me now?"

"GAH!"

Not even second alone in this room and the girl continues to throw this boy's worldview in a loop by communicating telepathically.

"...Could you always do that?"

His eyes widen as the fae knight materializes with a wide simile." One of the many perks of being a servant."

"I'm guessing that it's also one." You feel the exhaustion from his voice.

She affirms with a nod which he responded in kind with a sigh and without missing a beat the girl spoke once more.

"So, who do you want me to kill?"

"Ah, yeah forgot about that."

"Why are you so ready to help?"

"Well, because you're a master and you're weak and I'm strong."

She said it was the most obvious thing in the world. And that pissed him off even more.

"Wa... WHAT WAS THAT?!"

He shouted.

He didn't care about keeping her existence a secret. Or alerting Azazel. He was just mad.

"You know what!?" He stepped forward looking her right in the eye. "I don't need your help; I'm going to become strong no matter what you or anyone else says!"

"Even stronger than you!"

"Stronger than my rival!"

"Even stronger than Rizverm!"

"Cause if I can't do that…" He struggled with these next few words.

"How the hell could I live with myself!?"

Despite being yelled in her face all she did was blink a couple of times out of small surprise.

And smile.

"Well good, you can't have Albion's name being as weak as you are so getting strong." She responded in kind.

"Yeah, I'll show you!"

Despite all tension in this room what was going through the vanishing dragon's mind was.

"Yeah, she totally played you."

As if responding to the dragon's thoughts she gave the boy a quick wink which caused the dragon to sigh internally harder.

But what was in the boy's head was a little bit different.

"It's official, I'm going to wipe that smug aura off your face if it's the last thing I'll do!"
