We start off with Dwayne Junior narrating.

The school system, the way it is set up, is useful for helping young kids achieve their goals. And, a school sporting event, can bring out the best and worst of the students that are playing. This is the competitive junior year.

The tugs theme then plays.

Junior's POV

The end of the summer, was way more stressful than I anticipated. I was incredibly busy with studying for the entrance exam, along with working in Bertha's basement on the seaplane. Obviously, we were nowhere close to being done, we still had a long way to go. Seeing as how I was nearing the age of 17, and seeing as how we needed all the money we could get in order to get this plane built, I decided that I needed to get a job. I went up to the 7-Eleven that Bertha worked at to ask for a job application, but the manager just hired me on the spot, basing it entirely off of what I did at the end of the previous term. I then realized how Bertha got the job. The job that we had was working late Friday night, from 12 to 4 AM. What we were doing, was janitorial work.

Reader's POV

"Why is it that we're only able to work Fridays?" asked Junior, as he and Bertha were at work. "One word, school" said Bertha. "It can't be a job right after school, because generally, the idea is to not do homework late in the day, and then have to get up to go to school next morning, exhausted." "Besides, If you remember, the last time I overworked myself, both of us nearly got expelled." "Oh yeah, the root beer incident" said Junior. "In two years, once we graduate, we won't have to put up with school anymore, and we'll have way more days off" said Bertha. "What about college?" asked Junior. "If we actually do go that far, we may have a problem" said Bertha.

Junior's POV

It is incredibly difficult to have a job, when you to go to school five days a week, and you also have homework right afterwards. For the time being, we were going to have to go with the flow. The entrance exam eventually arrived, and me and all of my friends successfully passed. The junior year at high school, was about to begin. Within the first week of classes, we found out the hard way that there was a major difficulty difference, between the tenth grade and the eleventh grade. The work was becoming more difficult, and we had to pay a lot more attention. The only class I had no problems with whatsoever, was no surprise, auto mechanics. Bertha was in this class with me, and unfortunately Blaineley was still our teacher. Thankfully, she was slightly more tolerable than her previous years of teaching. The key work being slightly.

Reader's POV

Having missed the playoffs entirely the previous year, Junior really wanted to get back on the team, and get Bronzestone their third baseball championship in a row. When Hudson saw Junior's name on the signup sheet for baseball tryouts, Hudson went up to talk to Junior about his decision. "What reason do you have for playing anymore?" asked Hudson. "You've already established yourself as a popular reality show contestant, and a national hero, what more can you ask for?" "First of all, I never wanted to sign up for that race, it was my dad's idea" said Junior. "Second of all, saving Ezekiel from the military wasn't a publicity stunt, I did it because it was the right thing to do." "While I don't have a problem with being famous, this isn't want I want to be known for, my number one goal in life is to own my own car company." "That still doesn't explain why you're trying to pursue a career as a baseball player, I thought your favorite sport was automobile racing" said Hudson. "I do not plan on becoming a professional athlete, the baseball thing is more of a hobby" said Junior. "But as for you, you have higher ambitions than me." "I get that your lifelong goal is to play professionally in the MLB, and not only make it to the world series, but win the whole damn thing." "Well I am going to have to be blunt, if you want to make it anywhere in life, quit worrying about the MVP trophy, and actually work with your friends as a team."

Junior's POV

As I walked away, Hudson stood there, in complete silence. Hudson was somebody I could definitely consider a friend, but my God, I lost count of the number of times where he tried to act as a reasonable leader, but instead came off as annoying. It would take awhile for him to realize that he's not going to have a career, unless he's willing to accept help from others. But that is a story for another day.

Authors note: Hudson is going to be a very important character in this story, he's going to be getting some important character development.

I ran into the same problem that Junior went through when it came to trying to get a job in high school. I had to work during the summer, because I didn't think I could handle the stress of having a job, while also having to go to school five days a week.

If you want to be successful in life, you are going to need some help, you can't do it on your own.

Thank you for reading and please have a great day.
