A.N. - Welcome to my newest drabble collection. My goal here is a 100-word drabble a day, each about a different character, for an entire year. The U.S. just did their census in 2020, so that plus not having a story with a 'C' title yet dovetailed nicely for me. Aside from Hermione (Sept. 19), Harry (July 31) and Ron (March 1) each having their drabble on their birthday, these will not be in order and not connected unless otherwise noted. I have the first three written, but I will always listen to reviews with an idea for a character. And, drabbles might not be exactly once a day, but spread at least 24 hours apart. If I update twice in 24 hours, I learned, the system doesn't show the story as having updated. Now, this won't be the only author's note, but it will be the only one so much longer than the drabble until the last installment. So, to start, my favorite character.
1. Luna Lovegood
They say she's broken, call her Loony.
Once, she believed them.
Her mother's death rent chasms inside Luna. The sudden emptiness was a sucking void she wasn't sure she'd ever adequately fill again. Her father, despite his good intentions, was wholly unprepared for being a single parent of a precocious girl. This left Luna little recourse other than self reliance.
So Luna pasted over her hurts with fanciful creatures and far-off wonderlands. Nothing real, that triggered painful memories. The repairs, haphazard and unprofessional, still allowed Luna to function. To move forward.
Now Luna hears Loony and thinks, kintsugi, and smiles.
