A.N. — Poor Dean Thomas. One of the few confirmed minority characters, yet we know very little of his pre-Hogwarts life, and next to nothing of his adult life. I decided to explore the former.
10. Dean Thomas
Dean had an artist's eye, always noticing what others overlooked. He knew he was special long before his Hogwarts letter arrived.
He first noticed it when kicking a football. He was imagining scoring for West Ham United, and when the ball bounced back to him, it was mottled claret and blue. Once Dean knew he could do it, he started affecting everything he could. His sister's dolls and dresses were mended and re-styled (intentionally and not). He'd float snacks away when nobody was watching.
And after joining Gryffindor, Dean discreetly added the Hammer's shield to his scarlet and gold-trimmed robes.
