A.N. — This one is almost more about Nymphadora than Andromeda, but it all boils down to Andi's naming thoughts/choice. Really, a lot of the constellations/stars don't make for very appealing names.

16. Andromeda Tonks (née Black)

Andromeda Tonks almost kept up the Black naming convention, despite being disowned. Not that she'd ever tell Nymphadora that, given how her daughter felt about her name.

Before Nymphadora was born, Andromeda was considering a few names. One was Cassiopeia, given the name's connection to hers and the fact Cassiopeia Black had no immediate family alive. Another was Lyra, but she was waffling over its connection to traditional Ravenclaw imagery.

But when her daughter's hair shifted, the name Nymphadora came tumbling out, and all were stuck with the snap choice. It could've been worse; Andi's third choice had been Mimosa.
