A.N. — Time to delve into the pre-book history a bit. Canon tells us next to nothing about the original Order, other than a few names and that they were outmatched. So here's a name, now given a bit of background.
19. Caradoc Dearborn
Being in the Order of the Phoenix was not considered a death sentence. But then Caradoc Dearborn, a battleaxe of a man, disappeared without a trace. If the Death Eaters could take down such a formidable wizard and leave no evidence, what chance did the rest of them have?
In the dark months of early 1981, there was nary a bit of good news for the Order. Losing one of their strongest members nearly caused a fragmentation amongst the light-side fighters. They missed Caradoc's humor and skill with spells, sure. But the cause missed his Malfoy-esque piles of gold more.
