A.N. — Probably tomorrow, I will be posting early to break this evening posting streak. And, since that will be two updates in a 24-hour span, it probably won't show up in the site's just updated section, nor pop to the top of the Harry Potter section. It sucks, but waiting around till after 8 p.m. to post a chapter just so the site reads a new chapter as such also sucks. As for this fellow, he's one of Harry's first chocolate frog cards.

28. Hengist of Woodcroft

Establishing Hogsmeade as the first purely wizarding settlement in the isles was hard work. But, Hengist mused, so was hiding one's magical nature amongst the non-magical populace.

Hengist's fervent wish was that no one else be made to suffer what he'd been through. Being driven from his home, fleeing from mad muggles, escaping into the Scottish highlands... sadly, it was a common tale. By creating a village separate from those who could not (or would not) understand those with magic, Hengist hoped to both protect and educate. Hogwarts standing sentinel over the budding collection of dwellings made it all possible.
