30. Lily Evans (Potter)
Hogwarts is an enormous, empty castle for a first year. Endless stone corridors and classrooms create labyrinthine landscapes that lets loneliness lurk.
To Lily Evans, whose two friends are either in another house (Sev) or in another country (Petunia), it all adds up to debilitating homesickness.
She misses her sister every night, burying herself in a four-poster bed with only the indifference of her housemates to wish her good night. And she misses how Severus and her could interact without the veneer of house rivalry and bigotry clouding it.
Lily drifts to sleep, wondering if missing magic would hurt more.
