A.N. — This one is me dipping into fanon rather than canon, because I've been reading a lot of Slytherin-centric stories lately. So, have a character in the site's tags but not the books. Last chapter's character was just the opposite.
39. Gemma Farley
It was hard for Gemma, being warm and welcoming to the incoming first-year Slytherins that year. Being a prefect over a group of Death Eater progeny would surely eat into her time — and sanity. But Gemma was aiming for early childhood education when she left Hogwarts; if she could handle a group of kids from entitled Dark families, she could handle anything.
She gave the typical introductory speech, emphasizing the family aspect of one's House. Sadly, she thought, many of these misguided children had little experience with caring family. She'd keep on smiling, and work to change that for them.
