A.N. — Bullies are a big part of the Harry Potter canon. And, now knowing just what type of person J.K. Rowling is, I'm sure she had no issue coming up with myriad ways to belittle someone.
42. Piers Polkiss
If one were to compare Piers Polkiss and Harry Potter physically, there wouldn't be much difference. Both were scrawny lads, dark-haired with a shifty air about them. The reason for that shiftiness, though, was telling.
After repeated rounds of Harry Hunting, Harry had learned to always be wary. Nowhere in his neighborhood was safe from Dudley and his gang.
Piers skulked around, shunning attention, waiting for an opportune moment to strike. Just because he held while Dudley punched, didn't mean he wasn't up hitting someone himself. After all, if he wasn't striking first, he'd be next in line for punishment.
