A/N: I've been re-reading the Animorphs series, and although I haven't re-read the last book yet, I felt like doing a Tobias/Rachel thing. They were my favorite pairing from the beginning. This is a little angsty and rushed (I did it in about ten minutes), but I liked it. Oh, and Animorphs and all the characters here belong to K. A. Applegate. Please R&R!

As I fly off with your ashes, a great Emptiness settles upon my mind. I want to hide behind the hawk, to block myself from this feeling of complete and utter Emptiness, but the human part of me prevails.
She looked like she was going to cry. "You are human Tobias, human!"
With a shrug of my wing, I turn and swoop down into the forest that had been my home for so long. It seems dead, and so quiet. I find the tree I often rested in and demorph once the jar holding your ashes hits the ground. I grow taller; my wings turn to arms with fleshy pink fingers, and my cruel yellow hawk eyes morph into lost ones. I slump against the rough bark of the tree and do nothing as burning tears streak down my face.
Why did you have to leave? You were invincible, the Warrior Princess.
The Emptiness grows inside of me, and I grow tired. My eyes close and I listen to the surroundings with the jar resting on my leg.
So Empty.
My ears perk up at the sudden cry of an eagle.
She is hunting, and I remember.
