"Ani! Get back here with my wooden sword!" a young Jack Sparrow yelled
"Not until you catch me!" young Ani Sands yelled back
Jack caught up with her, he grabbed her from behind and wrestled for the sword.
"Haha! Captain Jack Sparrow has one again" he said laughing
Ani crossed her arms, "Your not a Captain yet."
"Aye, but I will be a pirate one day and be Captain of my own ship."
Jack and Ani were best friends as children. Ani's mother and father died when she was 1 in a fatal accident when their ship was blown up. Mrs. Sparrow, sheltered Ani with a small room in the attic. They weren't considered siblings, Jack wanted more than that. At 12 years old, Jack began to find Ani really attractive. Ani had long brown wavy hair, aqua eyes and a small figure. She was a natural pirate, well Jack thought. And one day, he would have her as his first mate and his bride, sailing on his own ship as the Captain.
"Ani and Jack come in for suppper!" his mom called
They both ran in, racing. By the time they were inside, Ani and Jack were out of breath.
"Look at ya two! Go wash up and get changed. I'll heat ya' dinner up ova' the fire when your done."
Jack and Ani ran upstairs. Jack went to his small room and Ani went to her room in the attic.
Ani went to her wash basin, she threw off her shirt and pulled out a rag. The cold water trickled down her body, taking all the dirt away. Meanwhile Jack rushed, whipping the cloth all over his face and putting another clean cotton shirt on. He ran up the steps to Ani's room where she was still washing herself."
"BOO!" Jack yelled
Ani was startled, and she didn't realize she was naked. Quickly she threw her clean cotton shirt to her body and turned red.
"JACK SPARROW!" she yelled
Unfortunately, Jack didn't mean to sneak up on her when she was naked. The again, it was technically okay, if Ani didn't kill him. He did turn red, two emotions at once.
"S..S…Sorry!" he stuttered
Ani looked really mad, like she was about to shot him. She reached over and threw a soaking wet rag at him. It spun in the air hitting him in the chest and a loud thump on the floor. She tossed her shirt on and ran over to him.
"Jack I'm sorry! Did I really hurt you! It was only a washrag!"
He didn't move. Ani leaned in closer to see if was moving.
"AHH!" he teased
"JACK STOP SCARING ME!"
"Sorry it's just so much fun!"
"WELL STOP! And it's time for dinner."
The two quickly hurried down the steps to find a meal of clam chowder and mashed potatoes.
"Mom, where's dad?"
"He'll be away on business for a while."
They finished hurriedly and went out on the sturdy porch that a blacksmith had built a while back ago. The center of Tortuga was echoed through the outskirts, where Jack and Ani lived.
"Nice night." Jack stated
"Yeah."
"Do you really want to be a Captain when you get older?"
"Aye."
"I want to be a pirate when I get older too." Ani let out all her feelings
Jack knew that this was true, but he never thought Ani would say it. She looked up at him and smiled.
"Wow. Ani I never thought you would say that." he muttered
"What?" she asked
"Nothing. Hey let's go in my room, you get a better view of the stars."
Ani and Jack both got up and walked upstairs. Mrs. Sparrow was already sleeping, ironically so they tip-toed. When they got there, Ani and Jack looked up, constellations circling and twisting left and right.
"Jack, remember when I first came to your house and you didn't even like me."
"Oh yeah and I put dead fish in your soup!"
"Not FUNNY!"
"Sorry."
"I'm glad that we're friends now."
Then Ani did something that she had never done and it caught Jack off guard. She put her head on his shoulder and fell asleep.
"I'm glad we are too." he whispered Jack put Ani into his bed and fell asleep in a rocking chair, maybe Ani did like him.
