A.N. — I see a lot of parallels between pureblood dogma and the current American political climate. But that's not something that can be explored coherently in only 100 words. Besdies, these drabbles focus mostly on the individual, and this one's particularly acerbic.
47. Walburga Black
Marrying her second cousin was easily explained away by Walburga Black. 'There wasn't anyone else worthy enough to join the Black family, so I wed someone who was already included.' sounded like sane reasoning to her, but even other pureblooded families looked askance at the woman's particular brand of dogmatic furor.
Sirius was a bitter disappointment, unswayed by Walburga's biting words and brutal discipline. Thankfully Regulus followed. He went along with her ideals. Here was an heir she could be proud of, with priorities straight.
After Walburga's death, Kreacher carefully didn't tell her portrait of his Master's change of heart.
