A.N. — Is it strange, to be humorously discussing a character's canon drinking problem on their birthday? Probably. But did said character also make a prophecy that screwed up a lot of lives? Yes, she did.
68. Sybill Trelawney
Sybill chose the North Tower, ostensibly to not occlude her inner eye. Really, she picked the closest classroom/living quarters available to the wonderful room she'd discovered on the seventh floor.
Sometimes, it was a wine cellar (though not actually underground) with a variety of sherries. Other times, it was a warren of detritus perfect for hiding her empty bottles.
The alcohol was necessary for Sybill's Sight. If she drank enough, Cassandra Trelawney would appear. The True Seer would whisper divinations that Sybill spun into her own predictions.
Climbing the rope ladder after, though, always made Sybill question her choices.
