Perrault's Quick Fix by Anime

November lay down to rest her weary body, bruised from unseen
roots and wayward leaves. She had noted that now, after she could not
find rest, she healed far more slowly than she had when she was able
to acquire the restless sleep.
The pillow was soft, though the
blanket thin. The mattress was sturdy, no straw to poke through and
graze her pale, sensitive skin. She rolled onto her stomach, chin
forearm, and gazed out at the dark sky. The familiar light had been
gone for so long, that darkness no longer felt evil and mysterious.
The stars winked languidly.
November yawned, too tired to be
surprised. Her eyelids droops, thick lashes touching down to meet the
other row. She could not tell, but she was falling into sleep,
finally able to dream after all this time.
As she fell asleep a
figure loomed over her, dangling a wooden moon on a string. He
smirked, and when their other travelling companion entered the room,
black hair down and no axe, he did not feel fear. She glared at him,
ready to drag him off outside and introduce her wicked axe ot him,
when she saw November sleeping peacefully.
"What did you do?"
Red hissed. She seemed less frightening without her cloak, and just a
touch shorter without her boots.
Perrault's smirk widened, and he
gave the string a little jerk.
"The mind is a powerful
thing."
