A.N. — For characters with so little known about them, I like to develop either some aspect of their personality, or create a scene to show something, anything, about them. So it goes with this guy, yet another dead original Order member. This tale's dark, but happier tales are due this weekend.

84. Edgar Bones

Edgar Bones was, tragically, mirroring his last name.

An ashy outline on the floor greeted Aurors responding to the house's wards pinging. Inside that grim border lay a skelton, perfectly white. There was no other sign of life in the dwelling.

The lead investigator shook his head. Just what had Edgar done to warrant that level of annihilation? Voldemort was twisted enough to take perverse glee in totally destroying his opponent. But the contained nature of the remains made the Auror wonder: was it really a killing, or did magical backlash claim one of the most powerful wand wielders around?
