A.N. — Here's a "canon" character that comes not from the books, but from Rowling's class lists. He's popular enough in fanon as a Muggle-born (which is debatable, like his House) that he merits inclusion in the character list, and here too.
98. Kevin Entwhistle
Magic was great and all, but Kevin was left wanting after a few weeks of study at Hogwarts.
Where were "muggle" subjects? Turns out fine arts, if offered at all, were extracurricular. As a first year, all the intriguing options weren't open to him. As for analogues to his former muggle classes, there really were none besides Astronomy. Sure, some magical subjects touched upon ideas he'd learned about pre-Hogwarts, but the gap in knowledge was laughable.
As a Ravenclaw, being denied a chance to learn rankled. Luckily, magic was immersive, and excelled at making one forget about the Muggle world.
