A.N. — There's a semi big name coming tomorrow for drabble No. 100, so have a veritable nobody for today's installment. Back-to-back non-book characters for once: not something I'll be making a habit of. Just goes to show how ridiculous the character list on this site is, that someone on a tapestry in one frame of film gets included.
99. Harfang Longbottom
Pureblood lineages were both complex and silly.
Harfang Longbottom had married into the Black family, and thus was no longer considered part of the Longbottoms. His wife, Callidora, took his last name, yet it was he who lost his connection to his blood relations. Their childen's allegiances would be split: the first to be born would be a Longbottom, the second a Black. But if he was graced with a daughter first, she would be a Black regardless. Likewise, the first boy would always be a Longbottom.
Harfang just wanted a happily married family life. Why was that so hard?
