Just something very short that I thought about while watching 100 Days. Spoilers for that episode obviously. What if the SGC had gotten through the gate just a day earlier? What if Sam had gone instead of Teal'c? SamJack stuff. Might be a bit OOC, since I wrote it as the inspiration came in just half and hour or so. Not betaed, so all mistakes are mine.

Disclaimer: I don't own Stargate or the characters, I'm just borrowing them for a little while, and MGM can have them back as soon as I'm done with them. (And MGM had better hold on to them for at least another year shakes fist at SciFi) But I digress. Here is the story. (Very beginning is quoted from 100 Days)

The Ancestors' Will

Garan was blindfolded, and spun around by the others until he was stopped in front of Naytha and the blindfold was removed.

"What just happened?" asked Jack.

"The ancestors guided him to the one they wish him betrothed," answered Laira.

"He was peeking," protested Jack. Laira laughed and jabbed his arm. "What?" He was pulled from his seat and led into the crowd. The blindfold was placed over his eyes, and he allowed himself to be spun around by the crowd. When they brought him near the door, he suddenly felt a breeze as the door was opened from outside. Everyone stopped talking and stared. He reached up, ripped off his blindfold and stared.

"Sam?" he asked, wondering whether the booze was making him hallucinate. The silence of the crowd convinced him that the Sam Carter he was staring at was very real. She was still staring at him, as if she was trying to figure out if she was hallucinating. Without thinking, he leaned over and captured her lips with his. For several minutes, they both shoved the military parts of their brains that were shouting "regs!" continuously out of the way. When they finally broke apart, he gave her a lopsided grin.

"Nice to see you too."
