Lord and Lady Malfoy ended their journey by landing gently on a grey, stone path.
Still dressed in her wedding gown, Hermione glanced at her new surroundings while Draco hurried over to dust her off and make sure that she had completed the trip without harm.
As Hermione's mouth fell open while she stared directly ahead, she barely felt her alpha's hands brush over her.
"That's…….that's the Malfoys' secondary property?" Hermione gasped in disbelief.
Draco frowned as he nodded, "It is……...It's quite far from everything, though. Most inconvenient, really…...we rarely come here."
Hermione blinked.
A large castle made from grey and black stone towered in front of them as it loomed at the very top of a tall, narrow pathway.
The stunning building looked ancient and strangely beautiful, despite its immediate air of foreboding.
Hermione knew that the Malfoys were wealthy, but she hadn't quite expected Draco to evacuate them to a castle.
He laughed at the shocked expression on his new bride's fair face as he admired her flawless skin as it shone in the moonlight.
"Shall we, my love?" Draco asked as he reached out and offered his lady a hand, "Mother and Father surely ordered the house elves to come and prepare it for us. You must be tired after such a long day."
"...Yes." Hermione blinked after a moment, "...I'm exhausted, actually."
Draco nodded at her as she took his hand.
He pulled his lover close to him and gave the back of her knuckles a chivalrous kiss before he escorted Hermione up the treacherous walkway until they reached the castle's front door.
"Perhaps we could have apparated." Hermione mused while Draco pulled out his wand and gave it a flourish in the direction of the castle's massive door, "I may have endured it for such a short distance."
"I hardly think so." Draco scoffed, "This property has belonged to the Malfoy family for generations. My ancestors cast a powerful Anti-Apparition Charm here years ago. As soon as someone takes a single step towards the castle, I'm afraid that method of travel is forfeited."
Hermione frowned at Draco.
The castle doors began to slowly ease their way open as she asked, "Will that not make it easier, then? Safer for you and I? At least Voldemort and his miscreants won't be able to murder us in our sleep unannounced."
"I've been thinking the same thing this entire time." Draco smiled over at Hermione.
As the Malfoys' castle welcomed the couple inside, Hermione clutched onto her mate's arm.
Draco gifted her another handsome smile before he began to escort her into the place that would serve as their new home.

Draco knew his parents well.
Lucius and Narcissa had, in fact, previously arranged for their house elves to visit and make the stone dwelling acceptable for their son and his new wife.
The Malfoys' secondary residence sat high in the mountains of Switzerland.
Draco decided that he would use the castle's remote location as an excuse to linger.
He would announce Astoria's pregnancy and then claim that the crisp, alpine air bettered her lungs so well that they simply couldn't chance her health by returning to the manor.
Draco smirked at his own plan as he walked Hermione into the castle and let her acquaint herself with her new home.
The Malfoys' alternate estate was large and elegant.
Although its age was visible, it held a certain refined distinction that only came with the passage of many years.
Lady Malfoy admired it all as Draco walked her through the corridors; the tapestries that hung on the walls, the fine furniture, the marvelous fireplaces which had been expertly carved by talented artisans…….
"Would you like a complete tour?" Draco asked his wife with a solicitous grin.
When Hermione nodded eagerly, Draco flashed her a smile punctuated by a surprising amount of warmth.
At last, he could give his mate what she wanted.
A life.
A family.
A home.

The castle's dining room proved to be grander than Hermione could have imagined with its high ceilings and engraved walls.
The bedrooms were as dreamily romantic as those which she had read about in novels, with canopied beds and arched windows that offered magnificent views of the snowy landscape outside.
The library itself greatly pleased Hermione with its two stories worth of rows and rows of leather-bound volumes, collected from all over the world.
However, Lady Malfoy's favorite part of the castle was the bed that she shared with her alpha.
After a scrumptious dinner provided by the elves' enchantment on the dining table, Hermione and Draco lay cuddled up under the warm, luxurious blankets that adorned their bed while the snow flurried down outside of the gothic window.
The Malfoy-Greengrass, really Malfoy-Granger, marriage had been undoubtedly consummated.
If Hermione had not already been with child when Draco stripped her bare in their stony bedroom, she surely would have been once his body slipped from hers hours later, in heat or not.
The fire crackled in the hearth as their lips met softly with a sweet resonance, heavy with the light promise of young lovers' hope.
In the glow of the firelight, their flesh glistened with sweat as they stayed intertwined, fatigued but satisfied from their exertions.
Hermione sighed as Draco broke their tender kiss to nip down her throat and let his lips ghost across her collarbone.
As she writhed underneath him with a gentle sigh, Draco nuzzled against her and whispered, "Are you alright, my love?"
Hermione let a small chuckle escape her lips.
She moved her head to look at Draco with her amber eyes bright and her chestnut hair spread out on the pillow as she answered coyly, "I should think that I'm far more than alright after such an evening, husband."
Draco brushed aside her playfulness as a frown crept over his face.
Hermione's taunting smirk died away.
She marveled at the softness in Draco's gaze while he asked, "Have I hurt you?...Have I hurt the child?"
"No……no, of course not." Hermione replied with a gentle smile of reassurance as she reached up and let her fingers skim through Draco's blonde hair, "My mother mentioned to me that exchanging affections should be perfectly safe for the babe….. It certainly won't cause me any harm."
Draco seemed to take comfort in her words but his face remained stoically serious as he bent forward and kissed her lips once more.
"A week or two, my darling, then we'll be able to announce your condition and have you examined by a proper midwife." He reassured his omega as he dipped his head lower and kissed over her breasts.
Draco was well aware of the subtle changes that had already taken place in his bride's body.
Her scent had sweetened to the point where it had become nearly intoxicating.
And her incredible breasts……Draco had been quick to notice their swelling.
During their coupling there in that stone room, during the first time they had been able to know each other since Hermione had told him about the baby, he quickly realized the effects of her condition from the throaty cries that he had drawn from her whenever his hands or his mouth found her sensitive glands.
Hermione whimpered slightly when Draco kissed one of her abused nipples.
The sound amused him to the point of laughter.
Lady Malfoy winced as her mate's warm breath blew over her.
"The babe will be much rougher than I am, love." Draco grinned as he raised his eyes to meet his bride's stare.
"Do you find my plight humorous?" Hermione shot back.
The soft frown that Draco gave her made her pout in return as he answered, "Of course not, my darling. Forgive me, I hadn't meant to be selfish. I'm your alpha and you're my omega."
As Draco spoke, he moved to crouch over Hermione as he let his lips drift gracefully over her.
She shivered and sighed while his mouth made its way down her body; from her breasts, to her abdomen, over her hips and bottom...to trail across the insides of her thighs…..
Hermione sighed as Draco settled himself between her legs.
Instinctively ready to give herself to her mate, Lady Malfoy let her knees spread wide almost too easily.
Draco took full advantage of the opportunity to gaze at her center for a moment before he lifted his eyes up to meet hers.
"I protect and provide….in return, you give, omega." Draco reminded his lover in a husky tone that sounded between a growl and a purr.
"W-What more shall I give you?" Hermione asked as Draco massaged the supple flesh of her legs with his elegant fingers, "W-What more do you want?"
"For now, I'd like to devour you, if that's alright?" Draco asked with a pleading frown, "Tell me, my darling, will you allow me?"
Hermione wasn't entirely certain what that meant, devour, but she intended to be a good wife to the man that she loved.
"I…...I'll allow it." Hermione declared with a brave nod.
"My," Draco purred as he stared up at her, "What a deliciously obedient mate I've chosen~."
As Draco moved forward and began to consume her at her core, Hermione gasped.
She let her fingers wind in his short, blonde locks as she struggled to find her breath.
She stared up at the ceiling with her eyes wide as her husband's name rolled off of her tongue.
From the first wicked lick that Lord Malfoy gave her, Lady Malfoy knew that she would enjoy her husband's desires far more than any decent lady should.
