A.N. — I missed National Pet Day yesterday. I also have plans for most of the main cast's pets elsewhere already. But this little guy lacks the room in the calendar to put him next to his human, so here he is in all his amphibian...glory?
102. Trevor the toad
Neville now had a secondhand pet to match his secondhand wand. He treasured the link to Dad through the wand. Receiving a toad from great uncle Algie was less welcome, but Neville figured it apt. After all, his magic acted secondhand at best. It was only through displaying that magic that Trevor came into Neville's life.
Now, Neville just wanted Trevor to stop trying to hop right back out of his life.
The toad's proclivity for hiding couldn't just be down to wanting a dark, damp, quiet place to himself. Neville swore Trevor resented being owned by a near-Squib child.
