A.N. — Like I could do a Filch drabble without having his faithful cat come right after? She was no help to her owner last drabble. Here she's quite useful, as well as the first of a couple non-humans being tackled this week.
108. Mrs. Norris
It was an onerous task, being the familiar of a human who was not possessed of magic. But Mrs. Norris coped.
By bonding with Filch, Mrs. Norris felt she'd tapped into whatever hidden reserves he had to enhance her own feline abilities. The results were plain: she was always first on the scene to discover troublemakers in the act, with Filch puffing along behind. Hogwarts itself seemed to favor her; the stairs never sent Mrs. Norris astray when she was on a mission.
She couldn't speak English...yet; meows and body language sufficed. But, she was sure it'd come in time.
