A.N. — Here, I'm breaking a personal policy in deviating from either book or movie canon. On the anniversary of the release of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, here is an awesome name from the game I just couldn't resist writing about. Warning for language.

115. Merula Snyde

Saying the Dark Lord's name was verboten, even among Slytherins. Try telling that to Merula Snyde, though.

Merula had plenty of the usual snake cunning, which manifested as cruel, sarcastic bullying. But she was also saddled with the house's typical arrogance, which was displayed more creatively.

Merula did not give a fuck what others thought, especially if they were mudbloods. So what if she didn't venerate Voldemort? She bowed to nobody. Merula viewed saying Voldemort (and adding just the right amount of derision) as a show of personal willpower. The rest of the house viewed it as budding, Bellatrix-level insanity.
