119. Mandy Brocklehurst
Given the translation of her surname, Mandy Brocklehurst thought herself a shoo-in for Hufflepuff. But really, knowing that one's name could be read in Middle English as badger's wooded hill meant there was only one house at Hogwarts she was destined for.
As her robes acquired blue trim and an eagle badge, Mandy was already hypothesizing why her previous assumption was wrong. She missed the sorting's conclusion, stuck in her own head. Mandy didn't even acknowledge her new housemates when they joined the Ravenclaw table. And they, in turn, shunned Mandy, leaving her unknowingly (and uncaringly) alone with her thoughts.
