If anyone told him he would be forced onto a pirate crew he would laugh at them. Now? He would punch the guy for being psychic. He hated being on the ship, hated performing jobs for them. Unfortunately, he owed it to them for giving him a new lease on life, even if that lease is being a criminal. He hated that they kidnapped the little girl and using her as leverage.
Currently, he was helping holding the town at ransom and being forced to enter this crazy forest to looking for a treasure that might not exist. But… as long as he would be here, there would be minimal casualties. That he was certain.
"You're in the clouds again Sai."
The boxer snapped out of his musing and glared at Devlin. "Am I not allowed?"
"You need to be paying attention champ." Devlin chuckled. "Wouldn't want you to run into a tree."
"Hm."
"Lighten up, ya know. As soon as we find the treasure and get the ransom we can go to the Grand Line. Then after that we'll sell the girl."
"What?" Sai whipped around. "You said she would go back to her family."
The Crimson Captain chuckled harshly. "Yeah? I never said she would go back to her family. I intend to sell her off for more cash. I contacted someone who will be here within a few days to sell her to a Slave Auction."
"WHY?" Sai bellowed with anger. He launched a fist at the Crimson Devil who blocked it with his morphed clawed paw. "You bastard."
"Easy Sai, you know what I can do." Devlin's eyes became slits. "You know I'm better. They know I'm better."
He didn't bother to turn his head when he heard the click of guns. He knew they were pointed at him. The glare the boxer gave captain was intense, but he was not an idiot. Sai knew his chance to survive a horde of bullets was very slim. Even if he could survive would Devlin allow him to live or leave him to rot? He sighed sadly as he relented by dropping his arm. The pirate captain laughed as he patted the boxer on the back.
"I knew you would see it my way. Now let's get started."
Sai snorted as he followed 'his' captain.
-Crimson pirate deck-
Nami hummed vibrantly as she and Usopp started gathering anything of value of the ship of the Crimson Pirates. Money, gold, food, weapons, ammunition. Anything the group considered they need for their journey they stored up on the ship. All the while Sonya sat and watched the duo continue their raid. The small girl looked at the remaining crew members of the Crimson Pirates, tied, and beaten.
The girl did not feel scared of these pirates. Her parents told her that pirates were bloodthirsty and evil. They were stinky and very poor. She was a noble who should not associate herself with pirates. Her teacher told her to use any means necessary to survive in case she was in this particular situation
These pirates were not as terrifying looking like the others. Anya's story of Shanks did not reflect of what she believed pirates were like. The Crimson Pirates stole her from her family and treated her like she was some trophy or some collectable to be used for trading later... or dispose of her after fulling their plan. She was not an idiot, some part of her felt they would kill after they were done.
"I'm going to kick Devlin's ass and then you can go home. We'll call the marines for you after we're done."
"Shisshishi, come on Anya. Let's send that guy flying."
Was it weird she trusted Anya, despite conventional wisdom telling her otherwise? Her brother is pirate and she was offered to join his crew. The boy did not reflect the views of what a pirate should be or behave like one. His ideals were more about freedom and exploration than greed...
Usopp placed a barrel on the ground. "All this gunpowder, our ship will have enough to fire more cannons. I'll be using it my repertoire."
"Who cares about that!" Nami held up the beli. She was extremely giddy about not being broke at this point in time. "All of this is 360,000,000 million beli. That's enough to last us forever."
"You're over exaggerating."
"It's how you invested in your fortune! Plus, there's the gold here, we're rich Usopp!" Beli signs appeared on her eyes, blinding the long nose sniper. "I don't know where Crimson Claw got this, but it's ours now."
"Excuse me…"
The two of them turned to the girl. "Yes sweetie." Nami said kindly.
"Do you think they'll beat them?"
"Yep, Crimson Claw has no chance with those guys." Usopp grinned. "They'll be ground into paste."
"HA HA!" The pirates laughed. "You think?" One of them said. "Your idiot companions are as good as dead!"
Nami stared at them with neutral expression. "Oh and why is that?"
"Our captain is a Devil Fruit user. He's about as strong as a fishman." He smirked smugly
The response he was expected was not a roar of laughter from the two strawhats. This confused and annoyed them to the point they asked why?
"Ha! Really? We just defeated Fishmen a while ago." Usopp raised his thumb up. "I, the great and powerful Usopp, beat one of them while my captain trashed Arlong!"
"EHHHHHH THAT'S TRUE!" The gasped.
"No wonder he has 30 million."
"We'll see." said one of them. "Don't underestimate Devlin."
"Don't underestimate ours." Nami smirked. "There's no way Luffy will lose to someone like him. We can gloat when he emerges."
-the village-
Five members of the Devlin's crew stood guarded the entrance while looking menacing as possible. One of them fidgeted their sword while looking bored. He looked over at the others who were talking amongst themselves. He looked to see four people approaching them. A girl with a spear, a blond man in black suit, a man with a katana, and a boy with a strawhat. Surprised by the new visitors he alert his mates.
"Hey, we got company." The other four glanced at him and then at the approaching group.
"Hey you brats!" one of the crimson pirates shouted. "Leave! This area is under the control of the Crimson pirates."
"They ain't stopping."
He gripped his sword with a sinister smile. "Then we teach them a lesson."
Yoshikido sat on the ground and cleaned his sword. "I seriously think we could've been better off in there."
Leo shrugged. "In there is nothing, but bugs.. yuck."
"A grown man afraid of bugs." The swordsman laughed. "That's rich! You know what else is lame? You being afraid of water."
"I'm not afraid of water, I'm just afraid of being overly wet!" Leo growled.
"Just jerking your chain man."
"Bastard, I'll kick your ass."
"Try it, you'll end up being cut open." Yoshikido taunted. "Better yet, I'll cut your legs off."
"Umm.." one of the crimson pirates stepped forward. "I thought we were friends."
"Moron." The swordsman grabbed the now frightened crew member. "Of course we are! Despite our reputation we respect each other. Some pirates see their crews as expendable, but think about the world we live in. Not everyone wants to be a pirate, marine, or some revolutionary. That's the common folk and them folk just want to live their lives as peaceful."
"Hmph, this means we'll run short on people so we must take our lives seriously."
"Of course we can kill a few non crimson blokes along the way, gashahaha." He laughed.
"YAAAR!" A beaten-up crimson pirate landed at their feet. This caused the group to jump in surprise and guarded against whatever started to appear. There were many of them here to keep the villagers in line while the last of the crew assisted Devlin and Sai in the forest.
"WHO DARES TO HURT OUR COMPANIONS!"
Four figures walked up to them and halted their movement. The crimson pirates stared at the three males and the female with curiosity. Yoshikido gave off a smug look. "Look Leo, a bunch of kids thinking they can take us on."
"…" Leo stared at Luffy in particular. Then it hit him. He aimed his staff. "Fool, that's Strawhat Luffy."
"EHHH!" The pirates and villagers awed. Yoshikido gasped. "T-the…. The strawhat pirates are here?" He grinned. "Well, well. I guess we can take the head of strawhat and show it to boss. That way he'll be the ruler of the East Blue." He took out his two swords and ran toward the captain. "DIE STRAWHAT!"
Before he could, Zoro rushed up and blocked it with the swords he acquired from the ship. He smiled. "You're making a move against him. He has other business."
"Eh? Got your underling to fight for you? Eh Strawhat! Leo kick his ass."
"Fine you bugger." Leo leaped in the air and brought his staff down. It blocked by the leg of Sanji. Both fighters jumped away studied each other. "Hmm, I thought you were just another suit."
The blonde smirked. "You should never underestimate your opponent." Sanji tapped his foot. "You never know just how shitty your face will get."
"Bastard." Growled Leo
"Excuse me." Anya stepped forward, "Do you mind telling us where your captain is?"
"He's in the forest looking for the treasure." Yoshikido turned back toward the crew. "The lot of you get those two. WHOEVER BRINGS THE HEAD OF STRAWHAT LUFFY GETS EXTRA HELPINGS OF MEAT!" He gazed at Anya. "Also, we might have her and whoever else in their crew as desert, if you know what I mean?"
Anya and strawhats twitched in anger. They will show no mercy to these fools. Zoro jumped away from the swordsman and took off his bandana on his right arm. He placed the bandana on his head and placed the sword from his white sheath in his mouth. Seeing the man wielding three swords made the pirate crew pale.
"Th-th-that's RORONOA ZORO!" shouted one of the pirates in fear. Yoshikido growled and went into a stance. If he defeated the famous pirate hunter then he would be more feared as a swordsman. Wait... was the Pirate Hunter a pirate now? Whatever reason he teamed up with strawhat means he is after someone's head.
Leo twirled his staff. "Looks like we got our work cut out for us."
"I don't tolerate you all!" Anya took out her spear. "You kidnapped an innocent girl and held her against her will. You hurt the townsfolk and put them at your mercy." Anya stepped forward. "I will never forgive you."
"And who might you be little girl?" Leo asked while never taking his eyes off Sanji.
"I'm Monkey D. Anya. The twin sister of Strawhat Luffy."
"EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?!"
"Twin sister?" One of crew members looked between the two. "Th-th-they looked sort of alike."
"Strawhat has a sister." Yoshikido frowned and observed her posture. "No doubt she has some training. You girl, after I finish Roranoa I'm taking you down. Someone like you will be dangerous."
"Nope, come on Luffy. I know this forest like the back of my hand."
"Okay!"
"STOP THOSE FOOLS!" ordered the monkey king.
"Charge!" The forty pirates charged forward.
"I don't have time for this!" Luffy stopped and charged.
"Gum Gum… GATLING
The onslaught of punches collided with the crew before they could react. They were instantly knocked away and by the multi punch attack.
"What the hell!" gawked Leo as his eyes popped out as he witnessed his men sprawled out on the ground.
"Oi, our captain ate the Gum Gum Fruit. He's a rubber man ya know." Sanji charged forward. "Don't take your eyes off me." He twisted himself. "Mouton shot!"
Leo brought up his staff to block it, but it proved to no avail. The black leg warrior shattered it and his foot slammed into the face of the monkey king. The warrior was sent flying through a nearby house and into a tree. He later fell unconscious as he dropped to the ground.
Sanji looked disappointed. "He wasn't much." Sanji watched as Anya and Luffy disappeared in the forest. He then looked back at the unconscious pirates.
Zoro charged at him and brought his sword down. Yoshikido leapt back and blocked his swords with his own.
"Damn you Roranoa, I thought you were just like the rumors say. Why would you align yourself with that kid?" He brought down his other sword, but Zoro blocked it
"Don't preach your crap to me. Doesn't matter why I aligned with him."
Zoro knocked the man's arm away and slashed across the man's chest. Yoshikido twirled his sword and blocked the blade with his own.
"Won't say it? Fine, it does matter why you aligned yourself with that kid, we both got goals and ideals. Let's go and see who's better."
Zoro prepared his attack. "Fine by me, let's see who deserves to be a true swordsman."
Zoro dashed at him. "Santoryu: Onigiri!"
Yoshikido blitzed forward. "Mad Slash!"
SLASH
Both swordsman flew past each other with their weapons drawn out. They both had their backs to each other while in a pose that seemed to last for an eternity. That was when Yoshikido dropped her sword as he fell to the ground. Zoro dropped out of his stance and took off his bandana.
"Oi, let's tie them up." said the chef.
"Sure."
"Is that girl with you?"
Both strawhats turned to the mayor who was being held up by one of the townsfolk.
Zoro nodded. "She's our captain's sister, but they haven't seen each other in 4 years."
The man smiled warmly at them. "She is a good person, but her method of coming here was… strange."
Zoro raised a brow. "How strange?"
"She said a whirlpool destroyed her boat so she had to rely on luck to find land. She came here in a crate."
The men blinked in surprise. Sanji sighed while Zoro laughed. "Ha, wow. That's unusual, but she is a survivor."
"However, I'm worried about the two of them. Crimson Claw is a fruit user."
"Yeah, they told us."
"He consumed the Weasel Weasel Fruit: Model Wolverine. He was totally fierce opponent."
Sanji frowned. "So he's a Zoan, interesting."
"Didn't Anya wanted to take him out?"
The villagers gasped, fearing for the girl safety. One of the women stepped up to them worriedly. "No! She can't. He'll tear her apart."
"She can take care of herself." Zoro picked up Yoshikido. "As far as I know that bastard only has that bounty due to all the exploits he accomplished. Sure he's feared, but I heard he lost to Don Krieg once in close combat."
"Besides, we'll go into the forest later. Let's get these guys tied up."
-The forest-
The twins were seeing running through the forest. Anya was leading Luffy to her campsite. From they would figure out where the Crimson Claw went "Try not to get lost brother."
"You know this place as more than I do. Lead the way."
"I made camp farther on ahead. If they discovered it then… they must've took the extra 3,000 belli I kept. I hope they don't do anything with my clothes. You know how some people are."
"Um…. What?"
"Fetish, they might try on my clothes."
"Or sniff them," He chuckled. "What are you going to do if that happens?"
"Burn them. If they used my stuff then there is no point in keeping them."
"Wouldn't washing them help?"
"I refuse! Just knowing their filthy hands touched them is enough for me to beat them up and burn all my clothes."
The duo kept running until they made it Anya's camp. There they found 10 of the Crimson Pirates standing on the camp grounds, talking and laughing. One of them danced around with Anya's bra on his head while the others laughed. The spear user growled as she stepped forward and clenched her fist. She leapt forward, grabbed the closest pirate from behind and slammed his face first into the ground. Her appearance and attack alarmed the pirates and prompted to take out their swords.
"Anya DUCK!" She quickly dropped to the ground just as Luffy prepared his move.
"GUM GUM WHIP!"
He stretched his leg out and performed a leg sweep that struck all the pirates in the general area. Anya got up, dusted herself and went to the one with her bra on his head and kicked him in the stomach. "Don't use woman's clothes like this. Some barbarian you are."
"Wench."
BAMM! She punched him in the face. The girl brushed aside her hair as she got up and looked around her camp site. All she had here was a tent, a campfire, cooking tools, a bag filled with 2 set of clothes, a map of the East Blue, and 3,000 beli. Wait. She dove in her bag and checked for her money. "No, no! NO! NO!" My 3,000 beli I saved up is gone!" She turned toward the remaining pirates. She cracked her knuckles. "Luffy help beat them up again and find my cash!"
Luffy smiled. "Okay!'
After a thorough interrogation the twins discovered the money was in the possession of Sai. They also learned both pirates separated further in the forest,
BOOOOM!
BOOOOOOM!
Luffy looked toward the left while Anya gazed ahead of the campsite. Both teens narrowed their eyes, knowing who set the bombs off. They looked at each other and nodded. They were ready to fight them and already decided who was going to fight who. They were interrupted by the laughter of the down pirates.
"Boss went further ahead, while Sai took a left turn. Heh, you'll never be able to beat them."
Luffy snorted. "Don't underestimate us. I'm going to be the Pirate king."
Anya smiled after hearing his declaration. She vowed to help him with his goal.
"Anya-nee." She turned toward her brother who gave her a thumbs up. "I'll get your money back okay? Send Crimson Claw flying and then we can set sail."
She laughed. "Thanks… Captain."
"Mr. Sai!" The boxer was snapped out of his musings and faced the five-man group behind him
"Hmm?"
"We didn't find anything yet." One of them scratched his head
The boxer sighed as he got up. "You idiots, don't call me until you actually found something." He said as he walked away. "Dig or blow up everything, Captain's orders
One of the pirates leaned into his crew mate. "I'm new, why is he acting like this?"
"He's daydreaming again. He's remembering a time when he was a boxer."
"Yeah, he gambled and did underground tournaments."
"That's a lie."
"Huh? I thought…"
The man turned to his pal and frowned. "News lies, Captain says we shouldn't believe everything the government says. There are truths, but then there are lies. Take Nico Robin for instance."
"The devil child that sunk 6 marine ships?"
"You honestly think a child could be capable of that? Even if she was capable of that, you don't think she could've caused more damage after that? Something is up with that."
"I don't know, what if she ate one of those cursed fruits."
"Doesn't matter, the kid grew up and possible became a jaded woman. Rumors are she betrays any crew she joins. It's best not to get involved with her if we see her."
"So, what really happened with Sai?"
"Well.."
Sai's P.O.V.
The air is nice today. Nice enough to sit down and have a picnic. No longer will I enjoy those days. Not when everyone ridicules me for that incident. It was never my fault. Those… world nobles have power like that. It was just another day in the boxing ring. I had just won my match and it was a good day for me. After declaring me the winner I went with friends and we all got drunk. It was a good day.
Then he came, that fat bastard with that stupid haircut. Wearing a helmet because he doesn't want to breath the same air as the common people. Evil bastard. I saw everyone else stood silent and kneeled before him as they were told. His knights were at his side, his butler or whatever was wearing dark sunglasses and a suit. He was the man who was at his side as some kind of interpreter or something.
The other thing that bothered me? He was riding on man who looked ready to die. The noble didn't care about him, but was frustrated when that man lost his pace. He also had two woman who also looked wanting to die. They were dressed in slut or dancer clothing or something. He had them tied with chains and said chains were on his harness. That bastard. I would've murdered him right there and then, but then the government would be at my head.
What did he want? He wanted me to lose in the next fight. He didn't like me. He flat out said it and wanted his likable boxer to win the title. I frowned at this, but I accepted. I didn't want trouble…. at the moment.
The day came when the next fight was being held. I walked in with my head held high. I saw the same fat bastard above the ring and in a glass box. Away from the common people. When the fight began, we traded blows. After I few rounds, I faked my downfall and as the countdown began, I had a different opinion. I did not want to lose. I didn't want to break my streak. I did NOT want to listen to this bastard.
I got back up and the next round began. I finished him off with my Devil's Sting. Everyone cheered except for that man. He was mad, angry, but then his face curled in a smile. That wasn't good. The next day my career ended. I found out he made a false article about me gambling, smoking, and participating in underground boxing matches for money. More rumors and slurs were told about me. I hitched a boat ride out of town and wanted to get away. My ship sunk and I ended up on an island devoid of human life. I stayed there for a year and 6 months.
I felt at peace here, no on ridiculed me… except for those blasted monkeys. I trained myself to stay in fit physical condition, I hunted, and made friends with the animals. I felt… at peace and… lonely. That is until Devilin and his crew came. They staked the island and killed a few animals and tore up the landscape looking for treasure. I fought them. Devlin, Leo, and Yoshikido took me out and laughed at my weakness. Those three were monsters, not like their underlings. Devlin recognized me and offered me a place on his crew. They made an offer to me to join his crew in order to get off the island. Part of me wanted to get off the island. so I accepted it, but I felt like I made a deal with the devil.
I told him I would fight other pirate crews if he wanted, not civilians. Surprisingly he agreed. The more I traveled the more I regretted my decision. They are all monsters, never caring who they hurt as long as they got what they want. I disliked how they kidnapped Sonya and verbally and mentally tortured her. I didn't go see the girl I felt like I'm the one who did the kidnapping and the molesting. I'm a part of this crew until I die.
"WHERE ARE YOU BOXER GUY!"
I looked up from my daydream and turned to the source of the voice. I raced back to the target and found the men on the ground and injured. Standing above them was a kid with a strawhat. Wait, I recognize this kid from the wanted poster. This was Strawhat Luffy. This kid was the 30million man. How did this kid get his bounty? That I do not know. Wait, why is this kid here and looking for me?
"You! You're the boxer guy, Sai? Give back my sister's money!"
Money? The camp we found belonged to his sister? I took a step back and looked at his appearance. He looked scrawny and lacked any muscle. He seemed innocent and childish. I looked at his eyes and found… no source of dark intentions. I saw nothing, but honesty and good well-mannered man. Why did this kid become a pirate?
"I'll give it back to you kid if you answer this one question."
"Okay."
He complied? Interesting. "Why are you a pirate?"
"For adventure, freedom, and fun. My dream is to become the Pirate King."
Ah, there it was. The title of being King of the Pirates. He's just as suicidal as every other idiot out there. He is chasing after dreams with no care and risking his life and the crew for his naive nature.
"It's dangerous kid."
"If it wasn't then where is the fun in that?"
I see... he seeks danger because it gives him a thrill, no fear for his own life, always wanting a fight to satisfy his cravings... or maybe I'm being too critical. There is something about this kid that makes me feel he's different. Seeing him makes me think he isn't the kind of the pirate to prey on innocents like Devlin does. Something about his answer made me chuckle as I tossed him the beli I had in my pocket.
"Take it, it's yours. I have no use fighting you over it."
"Thanks! That was easy." He smiled brightly. His smile was not bad... I still have questions or at least want answers. Perhaps fighting him would give me an answer.
"Kid… show me your passion as a fighter."
"Oh so you do want to fight?"
"Kid, I want you to give me everything you got. I lost my fighting spirit, I lost everything due to someone tampering with my fame."
"You're boxing career? I heard you did bad things."
"That is a lie. An evil man made rumors about me just because I wouldn't throw a fight. You may know there are cruel people in the world, people with special positions of power. The more you travel the sea I want you take this word of advice. Beware the Dragon people."
"REAL DRAGONS!?"
Is this kid for real? "Kid, beware of those people. They are not dragons. They are not human. They are demons in human skin. Beware of them."
He nodded. "Got it, I'll watch out for them."
"Good, because they wear clear helmets or bubbles to not breathe the same air as you and I. Remember that."
"Got it."
"Good, now come at me. Show me your power Strawhat Luffy." I said as I brought up my fist.
"You're a good guy after all. I like you. I'm not going to lose." He said as a smile curled up on his face.
I trudged over to him and threw a punch. He dodged to the side and then… stretched his arm out? This kid is a Fruit User. Amazing. "What fruit did you eat?
"Gum Gum Pistol!" I gasped and brought up my arm. I felt the impact on my right arm. Ouch, that hurt so much. What is this kid made of?
"I'm a Rubber man. I ate the Gum Gum Fruit."
"I see, tell me about your crew kid." I dodged another of his punches.
"Hee hee, as of now I have five people. Roronoa Zoro. You've heard of him right?"
"The pirate hunter? HOW?!" I threw a hard punch to his face as fast as I could
Surprisingly his head stretched back as he talked. "I helped him a while back. Some marines broke a promise of his and I helped him get out of that jam. After that he became my crew member. GUM GUM..."
"I guess Zoro isn't a bad guy after all."
"BELL!" I dodged that noggin and delivered an upper cut to his stomach and then a spinning back fist to his side. All it did was knock him back.
"He is a heavy drinker. He's a good guy. I also have this girl named. Nami, she's our navigator. Good at predicting weather patterns." He leapt forward and delivered a fist to my face.
"Interesting." Kid's got a woman on the crew. If there was woman on the Crimson Pirates, they would be all over her. I staggered back as the fist connected my face. I won't go down that easy.
"Usopp and Sanji are the others. One is a lying sniper and the other is a chef."
We had a cook, Yoshikido killed him after he tried to poison us. This kid picked himself a good crew.
"The last one is my sister. I haven't seen her for four years and now she will be a part of my crew. She's off fighting your boss."
"WHAT?! Kid we have to get your sister."
"Don't worry about it. She'll win, she's stronger than she looks."
"Don't blame me if she ends up dead." This kid is strong, quick, agile, and I think he has battle smarts.
"She's not going to. She's not going to allow that Crimson guy to walk away." Luffy held up his fist. "You obviously don't want to be on that crew. Why do you still want to fight?"
"Why the change of attitude?"
"I don't know, something about you reminds me of this friend of mine who was forced to be a pirate too. Were you forced to be one?"
"I didn't have a choice," I said as I lowered my guard. "I was saved by them when I was stranded on a deserted island. They made an offer after Crimson Claw and his two flunkies beat me. They could've let me die right there if I didn't join." I sat down. "You fight well kid."
"You do too Mister." He walked to me and sat down facing me. "Explain?"
"Remember those dragon people I told you about?"
I then told him everything that happened to me since I lost my career to joining the Crimson Pirates. He understood me and what I was talking about. He understood why.
"Well, the only thing you need to do is go find your purpose. You obviously aren't fit to be a pirate. You have no instinct."
"Hmph, what about you? Besides wanting to be pirate king, what or who inspired you?"
"You know who Shanks is?"
"Yeah, everybody knows who Red-haired is…. So, he inspired you?"
"Yep, came to my village 10 years ago, saved my life, gave me his hat and left." He took off his hat and stared deeply at it. To him that hat had sentimental value. "He told me to give this back to him when I see him again. I'm going to find one piece and I'm going to see him again to return his hat. I can't wait to see him. I'll be stronger by then."
I nodded. 'Red-Hair' must be different than what I am led. "Maybe you shouldn't tell everyone about that. Secrets are kept for a reason, so keep that one unless it necessary to bring up."
"Nobody asks, and I don't bring it up... I really bad at lying."
"Try not to." A man revealing more about himself to a stranger means there is more leverage.
"Oh, I guess you can find it strange my grandpa is a marine."
I snorted at the fact. His grandpa must be mad his relative chose the pirate life. "And you're a pirate. Let me guess your father is a bounty hunter?"
"No, don't know who he is. Never met him."
"Oh." That kind of felt awkward.
"Anyway, you could stay in the village."
"Like they would take me in. They saw me with Devlin."
"Did you hurt anybody?"
"No, I didn't. Doesn't make things any better."
"Heh, we'll figure something out, not worry."
Suddenly an explosion louder than anything I heard here sounded throughout the air. Our eyes shot toward the direction where Devlin was and my face paled. That explosion, Devlin must've set off another explosive, but this was stronger than the last. The kid had a concerned look for some reason. My eyes widen in shock, remembering he had a sister. "Go help your sister kid."
I watched him take off in breakneck speed. I closed my eyes and rested a bit. If she beats Devlin then she also will have my respect.
