In the Akusho district
3rd POV
The scene opens up on the Akusho district, the once dangerous streets of the imperial capital saw the lowest rate of crime in… well, ever. After the Bessara family massacre the remaining crime families recognize the Americans as a force not to be reckoned with. To minimize the chance of stepping on their toes they ordered all members to treat five blocks around them as holy ground. No blood, drug pushing, or theft to be committed on these streets without severe reception. Many criminals within the gangs still held grudges against the others but followed their heads without question. As time carried on, they started interacting. Getting to talking lead to deals being made. Deals led to profits, profits lead to peace. And sure, enough this unease agreement became a full fledge truce. Along with increase profits and restful nights the Americans begin branching out to them. For information they gave food, medicine, and to a few passes to Alnus hill. This proved cheaper than anything the crime family could get from the Imperial. Normally paying for food and decent medicine would cost them a pretty Soruda and the indignity of dealing with the imperial snobs. But for a small price of information on local politics, guard routes, and places of interest. It was an absolute steal. Along with that a few of the soldiers begin getting close with their prostitutes. They diverge some interesting facts about their own country. The ideas of a secret pub, or as the Americans referred to as; a Speak-Easy gave the heads an idea. A hidden bar with high end goods and discreet rooms brought in higher clientele. Clientele who they selected to enter. The look of how some of these noble born children groveling to enter their clubs was just priceless to them. They also squeezed them dry of everything as a bonus. Only ones who got the occasional free drink were American soldiers. In return they begin teaching some of the citizen of Akusho to play their strange musical instruments. Sing, Sing, Sing was real popular with the heads and it got their customers to drink more.
Life in Akusho was good. Till tonight. In the mid-day, a few of the demi human residents had a worried feeling about something. Like they could sense some unforeseen danger. All hands in the outpost were called on deck as many of the demi human flocked to them. Begging for some kind of protection. Though the Americans had no idea what was going on till it finally hit. The ground begins to tremble, and the land was thrown into panic. Though it seems the Americans weren't affected by the trembling of the earth. Though a few were a little shock when the children, whores, and mothers grabbed ahold of a few soldiers in panic. The skimpy togas didn't help either. After a few minutes the shaking stopped.
"(Sigh) Is everyone alright!" Freeman called out.
"Yeah… could use some help with the medusa!" one of Freemans marines called out from under the constricten of a medusa girl.
"Seconded. I'm not ready to be a papa!" another called out from under a pile of terrified cat people prostitutes.
"Well, you take your time. I don't mind the attention another called out with a smirk as a Warrior bunny prostitute and her kid hugged him.
Freeman rolled his eyes as then third recon came in. Eastwood barley out of uniform with his shirt unbuttoned to reveal a tank top. "Is everyone alright?"
"Yeah. Just a few scrapes at best. Maybe a few clingy girls." Freeman explains.
"Well, that's good to hear. I think I heard a few of the old buildings collapsed. Better send your jarheads out to see if anyone is in need of assistance." Eastwood said as he fixes his trousers and reattach his gaiters.
"And where you and your dogfaces heading off to?" Freeman asked.
"We just lost communication with command. Along with that, I can't get in contact with the representative guards at the Emerald palace. Someone needs to check to see if they are all right." Eastwood said as he hands Freeman a SCR-536, 'Walkie Talkie'.
"Fair enough. Seems these people never heard of an earthquake." Freeman noted as he looked around the room.
"Yeah. Or survived one. By the guess of the shake, we could be seeing some aftershocks so get as many people as you can out of the houses and away from anything that could fall." Eastwood instructed.
"Been in one back in 41. While I was training in Japan. They taught us some important details on them as well." Eastwood said nonchalantly as he buttons up his shirt.
"Right, good luck then." Freeman remarks as he pulls out a cigarette.
"You too." Eastwood said with a nod as Freeman lights up his cigarette.
The two parted ways with Eastwood being accompanied by his third recon. They made their way through the Akusho district. Everyone was panicking. Huddled in masses or screaming that the end times have come. Some begged for Eastwoods Third Recon help to which they told them to head to the HQ, reassuring them that everything will be fine. As they head to the Emerald Palace they came upon a familiar face. Sir Grey whose army barley clung to him as he raced on his stead towards them.
"Sir Eastwood! (Huff, huff) The princess. (Huff, huff) She request your (Huff, huff) presence immediately! (Huff, huff)" Sir Grey struggled to say in between his gasp of exhaustion and fear as he stumbles off his horse.
"Whoa easy old timer. What happened?" Eastwood asked as Zimmerman and Jones helped Grey to his feet.
"What happened?! The ground is shaking! Did you not notice it?!" Sir Grey shouted. However, his panicked expression turned to concern as he noticed how the nine weren't even phased by it.
"And your point is?" Jones asked.
"Well… it's… the ground. It shook like an egg." Grey said as he raises a brow in confusion.
"Yeah, is the princess hurt? The earthquake as we call it isn't new to us." Eastwood remarks.
"… so… you knew this was coming?" Grey asked with a shock expression how these soldiers walk a shock like this without batting an eye.
"No, but we know how to handle it. By the feel of it we should expect nothing more than a few after shakes but other than that nothing else." Zimmerman said with a shrug.
"R-Really?" Sir Grey asked with a dumbfounded expression on his face.
"Yeah. My old man survived worst earthquakes then this. Still if I had to advice anything it is to warn everyone to prepare for another and to get out of any weak structures. Last thing anyone wants is to be buried alive." Eastwood explains.
"Ah… very well." Sir Grey said as the fear left his voice.
"…So where did the princess asked us to meet her?" Jones asked.
"At the Emerald Palace." Sir Grey explains.
"Well, happy coincidence. We were just heading there as we speak." Eastwood said as he tilts his Stetson. "Lead the way then."
Sir Grey gave a nod and lead the group to the Emerald palace. There many of the Rose order knights had gathered. All still in some shock by what had happened. As they entered, Pina who was nearly naked excluding a robe quickly raced over to Eastwood.
"Oh thank the gods you came!" Pina said with relief as she hugs Eastwood. "I'm sure as you know the ground begin to shake. Gods know what we have done to earn this but if anyone has any idea it would be you. Please tell us what to do? The empires survival may rest in your hands."
"Um… thanks… Just stay away from anything that could fall on top of you and you should be fine. Otherwise, I'd suggest finding anyone who is trapped and get them out." Eastwood explained.
"…That's… it?" Pina asked.
"Yeah. It's all anyone can do." Eastwood said blankly much to Pina's expectation.
"…Um not to question your sanity but you are aware that the ground just shook." Pina said as her brow twitch.
"Yes, and this isn't anything normal. In fact, I'd live through a similar experience like this before. It wasn't as severe nor is this one life threatening." Eastwood said calmly. Pina was about to speak when suddenly the ground shook again. In a fit of panic, she quickly grabs ahold of Eastwood as the ground shook violently. As she held on for dear life, she heard Eastwood remarking.
"That'll be the follow up. Wonder if we'll get a second one?" Eastwood hmmed as the quakes slowly dissipated.
"S-Second one?" Pina said nervously.
"What you just experience is known as an earthquake. It's when the earth moves like… um, oh like a broken chicken shell. Once an awhile the shells collide, and you get this. Severe one's form mountains. Minor ones, eh they happen more often than the severe ones." Eastwood explains.
"So… worst we can expect… is a few shakes?" Pina said as she finally begins to calm down.
"Three if we are unlucky." A voice called out. Looking over they see Bobby up and about. He was still in his pajamas when he walked over to the two. "Lieutenant. How are things in Akusho?"
"Eh, fairly good. Just a few buildings cracked and some injured folks. But otherwise, I'd expect nothing less than some scrapes and bruises." Eastwood remarks.
"(Sigh) Well that's a relief. To be fair I'm not use to these quakes. If I didn't know about them, I would be panicking as well." Bobby said with a sigh relief.
The two then talked about the situation. Communication was down but it is only temporary. Odds are Alnus hill was also hit but will be fine. Only real worry are the Mountaineers up in the Dumas Mountains. By looks of it, an avalanche had happened as of a result from the Earthquake. However, as they talked Pina's thoughts ran wild with a new sense of fear. Her father, the emperor was alone in his room. He must be terrified… or worst. What if something fell on him. Fearing for her father she approached Eastwood.
"Sir Eastwood… I'm sorry that I have to ask… but would you and your men please accompany me to the Imperial court?" Pina begged.
"… what?" Eastwood asked with a raised brow.
"My father. The Emperor. He must be horrified by what has happened. If another voice who can explain the reasoning behind it speaks up. Surely he will be calmed by it." Pina explains.
"Uh huh. Princes might I remind you that I am an American. If you have me in the imperial palace and I'm made, then any chance of peace talks will be out the window." Eastwood said reminding Pina that despite their friendly nature they are still at war with one another. Pina thought more about it, but despite all that was at risk she needed to be sure her father was alright. Holding Eastwood by his hand she pleaded.
"Please… Sir Eastwood. I beg you." Pina said with sincerity. Eastwood felt uncomfortable that a nearly naked woman was holding his hand but after looking at Bobby he gave a shrug. With a small sigh Eastwood relents.
"(Sigh) Fine. But not like this at the very least. I'll need some ponchos." Eastwood relented much to Pinas enthusiasm.
"Thank you, Sir Eastwood. I am forever indebted to you." Pina said with a smile. She then quickly orders her more sensible soldiers to quickly retrieve some clothes, cloaks, and attend to those still in shock. As she does Bobby approaches Eastwood.
"You sure this is a good idea, Lieutenant?" Bobby asked.
"Hell no. But way I see it. Worst case we shoot our way out. Best we leave an impression on emperor." Eastwood said as he pinches the brow of his nose before giving a long sigh. "(Sigh) Regardless of the outcome. Knowing Ms. Blanch, she will probably have my balls in a vice and me doing paperwork till the end of the century."
It took Kennedy a few moments before realizing that he was referring to General Whites secretary and second in command. He gave a small chuckle but also an approving nod. After Pina was dressed and Eastwood dressed, he took his Corporal, Medic, two others with him. Along with a handful of Rose knights they formed a group of seventeen. The rest remained to assist Representative Bobby with the earthquake. After traveling in carriage, they arrived at the royal palace. They wander the halls, passing by broken vases, sculptures, and shivering staff and guards alike. Eventually they came upon the entrance to the royal bedchambers. Pina asked for the group to await as she entered alone. Eastwood was tempted to take a moment to smoke but recalled that nobody here smokes Tabaco. So, all he could do is whistle to take his mind off it. While considering quitting smoking as the urge to take a long drag annoyed him, he did earn the attention of a few guards who didn't recognize the toon. Just then she emerges with an old man. He was dressed in a royal yet soft silk cloth. He quickly adorns some robe while adjusting some crown. The two briefly made eye contact with one another. In that briefest of moments, the two men took in one another. They were not so different in age. Yet their eyes held the experience of a thousand battles. They didn't have long to look at one another but in those few moments they noted the appearance and stances to memory. Pina then escorted all to the throne room. Once there she ordered the night staff who were still trembling to seek out the Ministers and generals. Gather them at the hall. Shaking their heads, seeing Pina acting so calm they felt a new sense of hope and quickly set out to do as they were told. Once gone Pina turned to the Emperor before bowing.
"Your majesty. I have brought a few who know what has happened. They are here to assist in what is to come next." Pina said.
"I see… wait, the ground will shake some more?" Emperor Molt asked with a few beads of sweat coming down his face.
"Maybe a third time, but highly unlikely." Eastwood said as he walks to the side of Pina. Pina nearly gasped at how Eastwood approached the Emperor. He was a commoner but even commoners wouldn't address the emperor in such a manner. But then Eastwood added on something that saved all grace. "Forgive my rudeness but I'm sure you wish to skip the formality's and learn what just happened."
"That is fair. If you truly know what is to happen next. I'd like to hear it now. Your words may be the difference between salvation, and destruction. But before I ask, whom address me?" Emperor Molt questions.
"Just a man, Emperor. But my name is Alfred." Eastwood replies simple.
"Very well, Alfred. Though a strange name, it fits the strange times. Tell me, what is happening?" The Emperor questions.
"To put it frankly, your highness. The Earth is moving. This has happened before, and it will happen again. Luckily these things rarely happen but when they do they can have all kinds of effects. Primarily the ground shaking." Eastwood explains.
"Have you experience such an event before?" The Emperor asked, a little intrigued by Eastwoods no nonsense tone and refreshingly straight to the point attitude.
"Worst then the one we are feeling but there is a chance for a third shake though unlikely. Best to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best as my brother would say." Eastwood explains.
"Wise words of your kin. Very well. I shall have my scouts warn the civilians of a third shaking. Anything else you'd recommend?" The Emperor asked.
"Advice everyone to leave their houses if it is poorly made. Should the ground begin to shake again have them hide under something sturdy like a table if inside. Along with that stay away from anything tall that could fall on them like trees or statues. Otherwise, they have nothing to fear." Eastwood added.
"Very well. Alfred. The Saderan Empire thanks you for your warning. But I must ask. Where do you hale from? I can't place down your accent." The emperor asked causing Pina's eyes to widen in horror. She was shocked by how casually Eastwood spoke the emperor. She had known her father to have taken the heads of those for less. But once he asked for Eastwoods origins bullets of sweat begin running down her temple. Her father knew every inch of land that he ruled as well as it's neighboring kingdoms. No way he could lie about it nor decline to answer. Just then the door to the royal chamber open, interrupting the conversation… and making it worst.
"Father are you alright!" Prince Zorzal shouted as he and an entire battalion of his loyal soldiers. All were barley dressed but still at arms with some in their armor. More horrifically were his slaves that he brought; Or rather dragged by a chain that wrapped around their bruised necks. The five were utterly disgusted by what they saw before them. These girls range from human to Demi-human. All naked, beaten, covered in filth and seed stains. As he dragged them before emperor they choked for air as the chains tightened. "We must leave at once. Another shake may happen a third time. Emlin told me!"
"Dearest Brother, the Emperor has been informed." Pina said before suddenly realizing something. "And how do you know about earthquakes brother?"
"We don't have time for your constant nagging. We must leave immediately!" Zorzal rudely said as he pushes past Pina.
"Answerer the princess question Zoral. I too am curious about how you have come to be aware of this information." The Emperor ordered.
"We don't have time. But if you must know. One of my recent slave girls. Emlin told me of it." Zorzal explains as he walks over and picks up a nine-year-old by her chain. Lifting her barley a few inches of the ground so she could choke. She was blonde with blue eyes and spoke in a familiar language that Eastwood recognized almost immediately. It was German. As she whimpers in her native tongue Zorzal hits her harshly across the face. "Quiet brat! Know your place before your betters."
"I'm sorry for this slave behavior. She speaks in such a savage tongue that I had to beat her to remind her place at times. But she did told me about earthquakes. Apparently, her savage family experience it in some place beyond the gate. In a place called 'Deutsch Ostasien'." Zorzal explains before spitting on the child in disgust. "Pfft I'm sorry father but I will have to beat her some more for making me use her filthy tongue."
"From… the other side?" Pina said with wide eyes as she looked at Eastwood in the corner of her eye. What she saw frightened her. He never got mad in all the time she had seen him. The best was annoyed, the worst was when he gave that death stare. This… this was as if the death stare had become a demon from the darkest pit of the underworld. Death's shadow fell on her brother, and he hadn't even noticed.
"Yeah. A few of the survivors managed to capture a couple dozen or so. Though disappeared shortly after they were sold, I did manage to keep a few." Zorzal boast before the child pissed herself from the asphyxiation. Enraged Zorzal tossed her to the ground where she pissed and crushed her head into it with his boot. "You little bitch! How dare you defecate yourself before the emperor! I should have beaten you harder to learn your lesson!"
"I… sorry." Emlin struggled to say in a heavy accent before getting kicked and punch some more.
"You'll soon be. Maybe it's time you lose an eye. A reminder to what happens when you look upon your betters." Zorzal said as he reaches for his knife. He then moves it inches away from her right eye. The girls struggle to stop him, but Zorzal playfully pushed the knife closer and closer. Just mere inches away from her eye when suddenly the knife stopped. Someone grabbed his arm. Looking up Zorzal sees the face of Eastwood. Eyes glaring with nothing but rage and death.
Moments prior Eastwood has had enough of this Prince's… evil. Words can't even come close to how sadistic he had acted. So calmly he removed his Stetson and handed it to Pina as he passed her. She barley realized what he was doing and before she could stop him Corporal Hathale grabbed her shoulder as soft but firmly as he could. Eastwood grabbed ahold of Zorzal's arm and pulled the knife back. Before Zorzal could get a word out, Eastwood leaned his head back and delivered a Head butt of the ages. His forehead collided with the bridge of Zorzal's nose. Bashing so hard that blood shot out of his nose. A tooth loosened, and his brain if one can say he had one, rattled backwards. He fell to the ground hard, barely able to recognize what had happened. Just then he felt a wet spat hitting him on the face. Eastwood spat on his face before uttering a single word. "Tyrant."
The room was complete silence. Someone had attacked the crown prince. With no regards to his own safety, consequence, or care. Such a thing… it was unthinkable. Yet the man cared not for the royal son. His focus was that of the child. Turning around he walked over to the child. He eye was so bruised she could barely see the man as he kneels down before her. Undoing his cloak and wrapping it around her nude body she could see a bear insignia on his sleeve.
"Es ist gut... um… shit how does it go? Ich bin Amerikaner. Dir helfen." Eastwood struggle to say in German. However, it was just enough to let Emlin know who he was.
"Amerikanisch? Amerikaner... oh Gott." She said as tears streamed down her face. She fell into his arms and cried out, "Gott sei Dank (Sob, sob), Gott sei (Sob, sob) Dank. Danke (Sob, sob) Danke."
As he held her in comfort the Prince had finally regain his senses. Anger overcame the prince. He was of royal descendent. Royal line. Next to be the Emperor. How dare this man lay his hand on him! Enrage he snapped.
"HOW DARE YOU ATTACK ME! DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!" Prince Zorzal shouted.
"A tyrant. Nothing more. Nothing less." Eastwood said as he handed Emlin over to Ada to be treated.
Rage overcame him, and he will have this man's head. He shouted, "You'll die for your insolence! To arms! To arms! He has attacked the royal prince!"
As he shouted, his soldiers quickly drew their swords, shields and charged at the five. They didn't get far. Corporal Hathale had ordered O'Hara and Pérez to open fire. Before Pina could beg them to stop, the three open fire with their assortment of Tommy gun, and m2 Garands. The men fell to the ground dead. Much to the horror of the Prince and the Emperor. The prince had never seen such magic before. The Emperor had seen the effects on those who return. Whole limbs were removed out of fear of green flesh taking ahold. Whatever these weapons these soldiers carried it could penetrate through armor, shields, and above all flesh faster then they could see. By now the fifty men in the room were whittled down to 8, with 9 more too injured to fight. As they stood there shitting themselves, Corporal Hathale called out.
"If you wish to live. Throw down your arms. We are not afraid to kill you all, and we can certainly do it ten times over if we wish!" Hathale shouted out. In response they threw down their arms and turned to run away in fear.
"Hey! Get back here and fight! Cowards! Traitors! I'll have your heads for this!" Prince Zorzal shouted only to hear a dreaded cocking noise. Looking over he can see the man who head butted him. Holding a strange weapon at his head.
"I'd worried more about yourself." Eastwood said in a low growl with stone cold eyes. The sight of those eyes sent a cold shiver down the Crown Princes spine. "Now. You mentioned having some off the book slaves? Well, you are going to tell us now. Where the hell they are."
"Tsk, as if I tell a low born like you." Zorzal spat before viciously. "I can tell from your hands. You must be a peasant. No noble son would have calices. And you are far too old to be a soldier, the barbaric country of yours must be desperate to keep an old farm hand around."
"Brother please stop." Pina begged all in vain.
"Know your place you concubine child!" Zorzal shouted before something hit his chest. Looking down it was one of his friend's swords. Looking up he can see Eastwood holstering his weapon.
"And I think it's time for you to learn some damn humility." Eastwood spat as he raised his fist.
Sensing the challenge, Prince Zorzal arrogantly excepted. Getting up he took a defensive stance and readied himself. Eastwood didn't move but continue to glare at him. Feeling good about his odds, only noting that this old man only got one lucky block in, he charged with a swing. Eastwood easily dodged grabbing ahold of his arm and throw him to the ground, knocking the air out of the prince.
He groveled on the ground for a few seconds before hearing Eastwood saying, "Get up."
Angered he charge again intending to impale him. Eastwood easily side stepped the Prince, but not before grabbing his arm and twisting the blade out of his hand. Wallowing in pain, Eastwood forced him to the ground by stomping on his back leg and delivering an open palm punch to his nose. If the headbutt didn't break his nose it certainly did now. Now back on the ground wallowing in pain, Eastwood repeated the phrase again. "Get up."
Zorzal struggled to get up. Now without a weapon and a crippled leg he staggers over. Throwing a slow haymaker that couldn't hit anyone. Rather Eastwood yanked him to his knees and with his arm out stretch he kneaded the arm so hard his entire arm broke with a compound fracture. He screamed out in agony as his bone stuck out of his arm. Eastwood then kicked his head to the ground where he cried out in pain. He cried for a few moments before Eastwood said for the third time; "Get up."
"I… (Sniff) Can't." The Prince once boastful and proud, now meek and whimpering pathetically on the ground in tears. If Eastwood had to guess nobody gave this boy a well deserve beating.
"Ain't so fun beating on someone who can fight back, is it!" Eastwood snapped before punting the Prince in the ribs. In anguish he fell on his back.
"I'm… I'm… S-Sorry." He weakly said.
"Oh, you're sorry. Well that makes everything better." Eastwood said sarcastically before putting his boot on Zorzal's neck. Choking him under his cowboy kickers. "Son, you beat and raped a child. And the fact that you did it so proudly, evil doesn't even begin to describe the first five seconds of your behavior."
"Sir Eastwood. Please cease your assault on my brother!" Pina begged only to get a cold glare from him. Those cold dead eyes. It sent shivers down her spine but after a few moments she nervously spoke up. "H-He is the crown prince. Though what he did is abhorrent you should know that this will only make problems worst."
"With all due respect, your majesty. I don't give a damn." Eastwood said with much venom around the word 'majesty' before throwing a right hook into Zorzals face. Freeing a tooth from his mouth. "Only way this will stop is if he tells me where the others are. Till then this monster will learn what a 'farmer' can do to scrawny little coyotes who think themselves wolves."
Eastwood then proceed to throw punch after punch, after punch. All Pina could do is watch in pure horror as this old man beat him within an inch of his life. After a while the poor Princes elegant face looked like a crushed pumpkin. Having enough he turned to his soldiers and asked. "Who wants the next crack at this piece of shit?"
Hearing that the Princes screams in terror before defecating himself right on the ground. O'Hara got first dibs and was about to give him a pretty good beating when suddenly Marcus, the generals, and the advisors entered, with all their guards. They had finally arrived only to find dead guardsmen, and the crown prince beaten bloody. They were about to draw their swords when the emperor held up his hand.
"Enough. They have made their point!" The Emperor called out. He then stands up and walks over to Eastwood. He did not hold him in content for beating his son. In fact, deep down he was glad to see someone give him a proper beating. One that was way overdue. "My daughter, she referred to you as Eastwood. Is it safe to assume you are the Ameri-can commander, Eastwood. Defender of Italica, Coda village, scourge of the dragons, man with the big iron, and soldier of three wars?"
"At this point four. Yes, I am Lieutenant Eastwood." Eastwood said without letting up his dead eye glair. The two men stared for a full minute before the emperor gives a small sigh.
"(Sigh) It would seem there is no point anymore. I shall order all my soldiers to search my son's palace. Any and all slaves shall be returned to Italica at post haste." The Emperor said much to his son's dismay.
"(Gurk) Ha-ter. (Gurk) Prince Zoral struggled to say with his missing teeth. Only to be shushed by the Emperor.
The emperor then turned to those in the chamber and said. "My fellow Saderines. It has seemed my lust for glory has brought ruin to our kingdom. These men before us are our enemies. They entered the palace unopposed. They beaten my son without consequence, and they have surrounded the capital and filled it with spies that cannot be found. It is a sad day for our glorious nation… but we must come to terms. That we are at their utter mercy. And if we do not comply, our nation will fall. So I ask you all to stand tall and bear the shame of defeat with your heads held high. You fought… but I lost. The shame shall fall to me and me alone to bear."
With that little speech the room goes silent as the gravity of the situation became all so clear. The Emperor then turns to Eastwood and said, "Go. I swear upon my name all his slaves shall be returned. Along with those he took from your side."
"You better. Only reason he is still alive is due to your daughter. Had it not been for her your entire family would be hanging from the gate." Eastwood said with much furry in a low tone. The emperor gives a small nod and allows to them to pass. The five attended to the slaves that Zorzal had dragged in. Each one being freed and assisted. Given a chance at freedom they took it, however one remained behind. As the group begins to depart Eastwood retrieved his Stetson from Pina only to hear Zorzal say something.
"You fink u've on? Tis chayng nofing. I'll unt u dawn. U heer me?" Zorzal said as he spat in defiance. Feeling like the prince clearly didn't learn his lesson Eastwood calmly walked over with Emlin in hand and drew on the prince. Putting a large hole right through his left kneecap. He screams in anguish as he rolled around on the ground.
Eastwood walked away as the imperial forces watch in shock and horror as their enemy got away with such brutality against the royal house. All he mutters aloud. "You won't be chasing anyone for a long time… tyrant."
Days later
The scene goes black as days go by. Just then news reports break out in multiple languages detailing what happened. Everything from Japanese to Russian. English to Spanish. German to French. They all spoke above one another, but the story was the same. A lieutenant beat the crown prince on the other side of the gate. While this behavior was reprehensible, after hearing of the survivors of this Prince Zorzal cruelty. They criticize him for not killing the monster. The evidence from their bodies alone was enough to start a war. Germany a largely pacified country was more enraged to hear what has happened. Already former Kaiser Landser, Prussian Aces, and königliche Marines begin demanding entry into the war. Calling for retribution for the horrors inflicted on the child. The American government could barely hold them back. So, they quickly acted.
The scene opens up, revealing the view was within a bomber, overlooking a singular bomb. It flew high above the capital before dropping the payload onto the Senate building. Rendering it to ruins. Followed by that, pamphlets were dropped. Showing the imperial dragon as nothing more than a worm, surrounded by many flags all with large knives and wishing to plow into the poor thing. On the back was written a very clear message. Peace or war and they have seen what happened if they chose war. The Senate held a meeting once more in there destroyed senate building.
"Senators. Emperor. The enemy these… Ameri-cans. If they truly seek peace with us why then did, they had to further humiliate us?" A Pro war senate argued in the middle of the destroyed senate building. "The enemy's giant bird flew through the empires skies as if it were theirs, and effortlessly destroyed the Senate Building. Had we been gathered at the time; we would've been mercilessly killed."
He then turns to the pro war faction and addressed the truth, "The people of the capital are terrified. They believe it might be the wrath of the gods following the earth shaking, or that it's because of his highness believing himself to be a god. Sadly, the truth is far simpler. When we first attacked, we brought home a meager supply of slaves. Though those who purchased them were found dead, and the slaves stolen gone. The few we had here, hidden were soon found out and a few soldiers witness one in such bondage. Even though she did not hale from their country they acted as if it were their emperor."
He then turns and points to the Pro peace faction of the Senate. "Tell me senators. How can such a nation who wish for peace so blatantly attack with such savagery? Look upon the crown prince. He has sustained injuries that he shall carry for the remainder of his life."
He then points to the prince. He was bandaged so much they could barely see the bruises under it. His legs was wrapped in sticks and bandages. And he could only mumble from the lack of teeth. He tried to play it off that he merely fell down some stairs however it was clear that nobody believed him. In fact rumors had already begun to spread that the man who did it went from an old man to a vengeful spirit in flesh. As the senator's mutter among themselves, the Pro peace faction leader stood up and spoke.
"We call upon her highness. Princess Pina Co Lada!" He said promptly. After a few moments, Pina walked to the center and addressed crowed.
"Tell us Pina. Why did the Ameri-can's attacked the crown prince over a trifling matter as of a low born child slave?" The speaker asked.
"For me to answer I must explain who these Ameri-cans are really. I first met them in Italica. A small band of scouts led by a man many of you know by name. Eastwood. Unlike the rumors he is no monster, no noble, no spirit bound in flesh. He is the son of a farmer. And one who will return to fields as soon as this war ends. Weather by peace or our destruction." Pina explains aloud. This caused more hushes and whispers. If it was a soldier, it would have been a sign of strength… but a low born farmer? The shame of a thousand deaths wouldn't even begin to describe how the Prince felt. "They are more cable warriors then anything we wish to put together. They select from volunteers not by house. And promote those on merit rather than birthrights. And after the sneak attack on there capital there are more volunteers then ever. For in their land they believe in three core ideals. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Slavery contradicts all three merits. It is why they are so vicious to my brother. However, details aside there is some merit to these beliefs."
Pina then held up something. Three scrolls of white paper handing them out the senates all went quiet. On the paper were a list of names, sustained injury and a year date. Pina then explained, "While we did took few prisoners, they have captured more of our soldiers. Before you is a list of those whom they have captured and willing to return. For their crimes are not as grievous."
The senators quickly looked over the papers. Some cried out in joy, others sobbed in their seat for this confirmed that their family who had gone over had truly perished. After looking over a few moments, one senator spoke up. "What is to happen to those on the list?"
"I have arranged for a handful to be returned safely without concession. The rest will remain until the war ends or their sentence come to an end. Some had committed crimes that are unforgivable by their standards and will spend the rest of their days behind a close cell." Pina explain sending a shiver of fear down the senator's backs. To think that their sons had done something so atrocious by these Ameri-can standards that they will never see the light of day for it. "But I assure you people of the Senate. They will not be made into slaves. Majority will be released upon declaration of peace. Those who's crime must be serve shall spend their days in a prison until release. The worst will spend a decade, if they don't behave."
A decade was a long time but if it was truly for that long they would at least get to hold their loved ones once more. Not all hope was lost. But the question now, what is the cost of this peace. Pina told the senators their demand, and while it was nothing short of ransom to others, it was meager compared to what they would have paid should this war continued. As they talked, Zorzal slinks away on his crutch. His mind trying to reason why he was beaten so savagely and how to get back at that commoner. The farmer, Eastwood.
Back at Alnus
The scene shifts to Alnus. Third Recon had just touched down back in Alnus. The hill, while shaken was for the better part fine. No houses collapsed and communication was reestablished. Life had returned to the community and sure enough. Eastwood had exited the helicopter only to be greeted by Ms. Blanch.
"Lieutenant Eastwood." Ms. Blanch said coldly.
"Ms. Blanch." Eastwood said emotionless.
The two stared at one another before she hands him a clipboard. "Your actions were out of line. You nearly blew the peace deal… however your brash action has international support so you will be given a slap on wrist for it."
"I see. But knowing you, you probably have a few tacks in that slap." Eastwood said with an unapologetic tone.
"Your damn right. I have assigned you to file, sort, and sign two building worth of paperwork. You should put down your bag in the barracks and hop to it. You will be doing this by yourself for a long, long time." Ms. Blanch chastised heavily.
"(Sigh) God damn it." Eastwood said as he pinches the bridge of his nose. "Suppose that's what it cost to punch a tyrant these days."
He then heads to the barracks. It's been a long flight and he has much work to do now. As he slowly made his way out of the airfield. He was immediately tackled by Tuko. She was bawling her eyes out. Cursing and snubbing incoherently. Struggling back to his feet he finally asked her.
"Tuka. What in Sam hell happened?" Eastwood asked.
"She finally found out." A voice called from the side. Looking over, Eastwood could see Rory. She had a somber look on her face. After a few moments she said with an uncharacteristic serious tone, "Eastwood… we need to talk."
Hello Everybody. Wombag1786 here.
So… how was the beat down? Was it sufficient enough? I was tempted to shoot him in the dick sip a dry martini as he bleeds to death. But I think the kneecapping is a sufficient enough punishment… for now.
So while I'd love to continue more I was pressed for time as I wanted this uploaded by today. So a few things were cut. But regardless I'm ok with this chapter. Especially the beat down sequence. Not many times one can feel joy for seeing an asshole get what he deserves. Comment down below how would you kill Zorzal? I have my own ideas but I'm interested in knowing everyone else's.
Now onto comments and questions.
From Gunwolf.45: It's still a prototype, so a lot of things will be added before it makes the field. Till then the M2 Garand remains.
Thanks for writing Gunwolf.45
From Amon34: 1. Already on it. There is no way I'm marrying her off to Robert Kennedy.
2. Yeah. In this chapter she asked them to come but under a disguise. Granted a poor one but would have worked had it not been for Eastwood temperament. (Then again if you saw a 9 year old who was raped and beaten how can anyone with a soul keep there cool?)
While I would have loved to improve upon it a bit more I was rushed for time on this chapter and had to go with the original script but with some changes that made it propellable.
Thanks for writing Amon34.
From MarauderPrime12: Groovy
Thanks for writing MarauderPrime12.
From Acro 683 Lancaster: Yep, though Alnus Hill becomes a territory for the Americans. With possibility of it becoming a state in the future.
Thanks for writing Acro 683 Lancaster.
From Pastymasty123: Yes. For one unlike the cannon the poison reeks havic. Best he got is a month to live. And it takes two weeks to rescue him. (So he will have an Olson outlook there.)
True, but I find it as him being the last or another nail in America's coffin. If all it took was a military junction to fix all of Americas problems then what's to stop it from happening again? It's just a question of time. (No hate against the Feds but no love either. Just prefer the PSA over them.)
Thanks for writing Pastymasty123.
From Crimson Weresloth: Take the fifth room on the left down the hall. I got a few left from the time you and Combine had to hunt down Blake in Zion.
Thanks for writing Crimson Weresloth
From Dominickwarcimaga666: Well, as they say, fuck with the farmer, you get the hoe… end of a shotgun up your ass!
Thanks for writing Dominickwarcimaga666.
Well, this was a fun chapter to write. I'm excited to get onto the dragon arc of the story. What I have in plan will be the stuff of wild west legends. Till then, please Fav, fol, and leave a comment down bellow. Till then This is Wombag1786 Sighing off. Happy 4th of July.
