The early morning held a chill reminiscent of the fading winter as Draco and Harriet arrived at the Owlery.

They both shuddered at the bitter wind that blew past.

Harriet took a sealed letter out of her pocket and looked for an agreeable bird while Draco thought furiously.

He had no letter to send to anyone.

He had lied to remain in Harriet's company, but he couldn't let her discover that.

Relief flooded his system when he pressed a hand over his pocket and felt a lump of folded, blank parchment inside…...perhaps that could rescue him.

While Harriet busied herself with securing an owl, Draco hurriedly removed the parchment from his pocket and folded it neatly.

Harriet didn't have to know it was blank, only that he needed an envelope.

Draco stood with a scowl on his pale face as Harriet turned to face him after the owl had flown off with her letter.

"Oh." Harriet said as she blinked at Draco and began to rummage around in the pockets of her robes once more, "Right….your envelope."

"Who did you write to, Snape?" Draco asked with a hateful sneer.

Part of him was genuinely curious, part of him was fearful.

What if Harriet had written to another boy?

Where would she have even met another boy?

Did she have some irritating friend outside of Hogwarts that he didn't know about?

Did she-

"My mum." Harriet shrugged as she found her desired item and offered Draco the envelope from her pocket.

……..Oh.

"Your Mum?" Draco asked with his grey eyes narrowed, "Can you not bear to be parted from her for a few days? It's Wednesday, you were home all weekend."

"Why do you know my schedule so well?" Harriet scowled.

Draco scoffed loudly to save himself, "The entire school knows that Professor Snape's darling runs home to Mummy and Daddy every weekend! It's hardly any secret."

Harriet didn't notice, but Draco made sure that his fingers brushed hers for a fleeting, blissful second while he snatched the envelope out of her hand as she glared at him.

"Actually, Malfoy, my Mum hasn't been feeling well. I thought that a letter may cheer her up." Harriet huffed at Draco as he placed his blank parchment in the envelope and sealed it with a gentle touch of his wand.

"What's wrong with her?" Draco spat coldly, "Is she going to have another baby?"

"I don't know." Harriet retorted with narrowed eyes, "Mum and Dad haven't said anything about another baby, just that she's unwell but should be better soon."

Draco smirked arrogantly at Harriet as he walked over and gave his letter to a waiting owl.

Harriet squinted suspiciously as she watched the bird fly away.

Draco turned to her and gave her the most conceited grin that he could manage as he haughtily commented, "I bet she's going to have another baby. I've heard that's all the Snape women can do. Lie around and breed. Useless things, aren't you?"

To Draco's chagrin, Harriet didn't seem annoyed by his insult, instead, a small, amused smile danced across her lips.

Her expression made Draco's arrogant grin melt into a doubtful frown as he wondered what was so funny.

"Well?!" He hissed.

"What the Snape women can do or how many babies we have is none of your business, Malfoy." Harriet replied with a chuckle.

The sincerity of the happy sound that escaped her throat made Draco sulk.

"...At least the Snape women are literate~." Harriet countered with a shrug.

Draco blinked before he grimaced at Harriet and asked, "Literate?...What are you talking about?"

"How will the owl deliver your letter? You've just mailed a blank envelope, Malfoy!" Harriet laughed as she pointed at the owl that flew towards the morning sun with Draco's addressless envelope clutched in its talons.

Draco's grey eyes widened in horror as he whirled around to look at the flying owl that carried his letter.

He instantly understood the devastating sloppiness of his own mistake.

Harriet smirked triumphantly at Draco after he turned back to face her.

She kept her smirk while she spoke, "Maybe the Snape women should teach the Malfoy men how to properly address an envelope, you know, when they take a break from lying around and breeding?"

Draco snarled in defeat as Harriet walked past him.

That was too close.

He had nearly allowed his own eagerness to lure him into an inescapable trap.

"He asked to borrow an envelope from you?" Ron asked Harriet later that afternoon while the first year Slytherin and Gryffindor students transplanted snapping daisies in Herbology, "...Malfoy?"

"Yeah." Harriet replied as she shook her head incredulously, "I…...I was trying to be nice, you know, so I gave the envelope to him….then he sent the letter off with an owl…..unaddressed."

"What a complete nutter!" Ron exclaimed with a look of disbelief on his face.

"Harriet?" Hermione asked as she stared at her friend questioningly.

"What?" Harriet blinked.

"Don't you think this is all a little….odd?" Hermione suggested.

"No." Harriet shrugged, "My Dad told me that Malfoy probably has it out for me because I refused to be his friend. I don't know why he sent a blank letter though."

Hermione had a knowing grin on her face but Ron spoke before she had the chance.

Ron did not share Hermione's intuition about the situation.

"Who'd want to be that git's friend, anyway?" He asked as he looked back and forth between Hermione and Harriet.

"Dunno." Harriet said as she shook her head again. She glanced at Ron and Hermione as she added, "I'm just glad that I have you two. I'll take you both over Malfoy any day."

Across the room, Draco's pale face was screwed up in a scowl so tight that he was nearly unrecognizable.

"Would you be more careful, Malfoy?!" Goyle snapped, "You're getting dirt all over my robes!"

Draco's hands were working on his assignment, but his heart was working on aching as he watched and listened to Harriet and her friends talk about him.

Draco snapped his head over to look at Goyle.

He narrowed his grey eyes at his….friend….and snarled, "Would you step back, Goyle?! I can barely move my elbows without bumping into you, you great, big oaf!"

Goyle threw Draco an offended frown, but he obediently moved over and quietly dusted the dirt off of his robes.

Lily's parents had not retired yet.

Although Mr. and Mrs. Evans visited the Snapes and their grandchildren often; they lacked the free schedule that Severus's mother, Eileen, enjoyed.

Eileen Snape lived alone in her residence at Spinner's End that she had shared years ago with her husband, Tobias.

When Lily's heat started, it had been Eileen's pleasure to come and help Tilly look after Lily and the children.

Severus knew the exact moment that his wife's cycle started even as he sat in his office that afternoon.

Everything felt off.

Everything became annoying and tense.

There was no peace.

An urgent void hung in the air that called him to Lily as it relentlessly insisted that he immediately rush to her side and ease her pains, but Severus resisted.

For their family's sake, he had to quell his desires and ignore his raging instincts.

That task wasn't easy for a mated alpha.

Severus ate his dinner in the Great Hall with a profound scowl on his face and traipsed back to his chambers afterwards with heavy, angry strides.

One hour passed, then two.

He wasn't in range of Lily's scent, but he and his omega shared such a deep bond that he could have promised that she was there, in the room with him.

His trousers ached from the stiffness of his manhood and sweat dripped from his pores as he imagined his beautiful flower lying restless and vulnerable in the sheets that covered the bed on which all of their five children had been conceived and born.

In the privacy of his rooms, Severus unfastened his trousers, wrapped an elegant hand around himself, and envisioned his wife.

Lily's crimson hair would be messy and tousled, as red and vibrant as fire……..

Her cheeks would be pink and her emerald, hypnotic eyes would be half-lidded.

Her lips would purse as she called out his name and begged him to-

Severus grit his teeth as he pumped himself faster and tightened his grasp.

Her breasts would jiggle when she moved and her nipples would be pebbled as they waited for his mouth, while the cavern between her thighs waited for……

Severus couldn't hold back the low growl that erupted from his chest as he spilled himself into his hand at the mere thought of Lily longing for him.

He gasped for breath as he cleaned himself with a murmured spell.

All the way in the bowels of Hogwarts, Severus remained at his mate's beck and call while she used the mental portion of the bond that they shared to threaten him towards a rut.

Another agonizing hour slowly passed.

Harriet slept with a soft smile on her face in the Gryffindor girls' dormitory.

Full of their mother's milk and smelling of the lavender bath that their grandmother had given all three of them, Draven, Brendan, and Oliver

snoozed comfortably in their cots.

Albus slumbered in his room while Eileen lay dozing across the hallway in the bed that she temporarily shared with Tilly, but Lily rustled around in her nest, wide awake.

She had opened her window to let some of the cool, evening air in and hopefully stop herself from sweating through the sheets.

Tears streamed down her fair face as she lay flat on her back with her legs spread while her fingers attempted to ease the unbearable ache that her empty womanhood caused.

Lily had lost count of how many times she had peaked as the low, merciless cramps of her cycle punished her for being locked in her room alone.

Her skin was unnaturally warm to the touch and her cheeks had flushed scarlet, but no amount of anything but Severus could change that.

Severus.

Lily closed her eyes and imagined that Severus was there with her, on top of her, beside her……..

As her fingers rubbed over the impossibly wet petals of her sex, something pushed them away suddenly.

Lily opened up her eyes when she heard a silencing charm cast in a low drawl.

"S-Severus?!?!" She gasped as she peered over her breasts at her tall, dark-haired lover.

Lily's eyes widened as she looked at Severus while he stood at the foot of her bed.

His black eyes glistened with lascivious intent as he stared down at his mate in the throes of her heat.

Lily panted for breath as Severus's gaze of molten ore trailed over her from head to toe.

The command that issued from his thin lips was low, dangerous, and authoritative, "...Spread."

Lily gasped again as she obediently widened her knees and gave her alpha an unhindered view at the entrance to her core.

Severus crawled into Lily's nest while she whimpered in anticipation.

She wished that he would move faster yet she also dreaded the moment when their night of passion would end.

Regardless of the roughness in Severus's tone, the kiss that he gave Lily as he bent down was gentle and sweet, too sweet.

Anxious to spur him on, she dared to nibble her alpha's bottom lip.

His fingers touched her first, eager to feel for himself just how ready his beloved omega was to receive him.

It only took a few swipes of his masterful fingertips to send Lily's nails raking his back as a deep, primal moan tore from her throat.

Severus kept the pad of his finger hovering over that little, fluttering bundle of nerves that his lover had taken her pleasure from until the tiny, pulsating thing stilled.

That was when Severus entered his darling.

The long groan that issued from Lily's plush lips at the sensation of being filled at last widened Severus's black eyes and caused his manhood to twitch inside of her.

As he began to roll his hips with himself positioned deep inside of Lily at the door to her hungry womb, he dipped his head and clamped down possessively on her neck.

She let out a dry scream as she remembered the thrill of the first time that Severus had given her such a love bite, years ago.

Soon after, Lily had gifted him with a pup, their daughter, Harriet.

One child hadn't been enough for the amorous couple.

One love bite wasn't enough for Severus that evening either as he bit and sucked his way across Lily while he made love to her.

He proceeded to claim his omega with purple marks all over her creamy, alabaster skin.

Somewhere, in the hazy recesses of her foggy mind, as Severus devoured her and stuffed her full, Lily regretted that she had taken the contraceptive potion her husband had left for her.

The Snapes couldn't afford a new baby.

The Snapes couldn't care for more children.

Regardless, consumed by the torment of her heat, all Lily wanted was for Severus to let her carry another one of his pups~.
