A.N. — June 24th is quite a busy day in canon, with Cedric's death getting him that date in this collection (Fortescue dies and Ollivander is kidnapped then, too). This guy got his soul sucked on the evening of Cedric's death, but he'll have to settle for being next to his father in this collection.

Barty had tortured the Longbottoms to insanity with the Cruciatus curse without batting an eye, but seeing the levels of hypocrisy his father had sunk to truly sickened him.

The righteous Head of the DMLE had enacted a plan that left his wife to die alone in Azkaban while his son was kept Imperiused and invisible at home. In his few moments of lucidity, Barty raged. He wanted to Avada Kedavra his father, to be free to return to the Dark Lord's service. Sometimes, he wanted to Avada Kedavra himself, to stop suffering and spite the bastard one last time.
