A.N. — To conclude a run of pretty big names, here is a woman who doesn't have a birthday in canon (nor much other concrete background info). So, she gets the nice, round drabble number 150. This is also the start of a running theme again.

150. Poppy Pomfrey

Madam Pomfrey wasn't a miracle worker, no matter what her charges thought.

Concussions, for instance, were just as finicky for magical healers as muggle doctors. Eyesight, too, had no ready-made spell solution. Both conditions tended to be adversely impacted by playing quidditch.

So, the matron was never seen at matches. Instead, Pomfrey waited for the game's inevitable casualties to be brought into her ward. The injured were never happy to be laid up in the hospital wing, but always pleased to exit it. Seeing them smile while leaving made it easier for Poppy to ignore their displeasure while with her.
