Author's Notes: After "Tales of Ba Sing Se", I just HAD to write some haiku as a tribute. :) These were written on-the-spot, so they don't really have any profound depth or meaning… sorry. I should really get around to writing more meaningful haiku, huh… Anyway, pretty much spoilers for "Tales of Ba Sing Se", if you haven't seen it yet.

Sokka's Showdown
Cautiously watching.
An accidental push, and
suddenly, havoc!
Beautiful
girls, all
with
eyes on him—only him.
A
small, nervous laugh…
Suddenly,
he's tossed
into
the middle of a
haiku
battlefield.
Soft,
porcelain skin,
and
piercing green eyes. Harsh, yet…
oh-so-beautiful.
The
words pour out, a
rapid-fire,
spastic rain:
his
one self-defense.
Heart
pounding, he speaks,
all
the while against
her
cool composure.
Painful
minutes pass.
Eyes
glacial, she stands, silent.
Realization
dawns…
But
in a moment,
all
that he has won is gone.
One
sound too many…
The
dirt floor is cruel,
hard
against his smarting rear.
So
close, yet so far…
He
can't help but think
that,
despite his defeat, he'd
love
to see her again…
