A.N. — It'd been a while since I'd done a school-age male before last chapter. So, why not do two in a row, and make them connected?

152. Jack Sloper

Of course Jack didn't make the Gryffindor quidditch team again after his one disastrous year. He was following the Weasley twins at beater; nobody could match their reputation. But, if he was honest with himself, he hadn't exactly made a strong argument for retaining a spot with his play.

Jack had no memory of it, but his teammates swore he knocked himself out with his own bat. He'd love to blame the wind, or their opponents, but he did the brave thing and owned up to his failings. It earned him a modicum of respect his athletic "skills" certainly hadn't.
