-Going Merry—
My group made it back to the ship. It was long, slow, dangerous and…. insightful. After dealing with Satori of the Illusion forest, aka Dumpling Man and his forest of doom, the rest of the our ride was somewhat okay. However, we encountered the same man, sans mask, that attacked us when we first arrived on the island. He was with his crew, I think one of the guys called him Wyper. Fortunately, we weren't their target, they were after Enel and his priests. However, he did threaten us.
"If you don't want to die, go back to the Blue Sea. Don't try to cause any trouble on our island… otherwise I will treat you like Enel and eliminate you too! Unfortunately, you will need to be strong to leave the island alive."
So, we stumbled into a civil war on this island. The tribal people with interesting gear are fighting this Enel guy and his army. It does seem like a situation where we're meddling when we shouldn't, but they did pick a fight. Wyper attacked us first and they did not tell us about a fine for not paying to get in. I mean come on why lie and tell us to come instead of turning us away. Whatever they are fighting for, is important to kill anyone trespassing. Two groups who want us dead and gone. What else is new?
Poor Chopper. We found out he was attacked by one of the priests and he had to use the whistle to call Gan Fall. The ship is damaged and the Sky Knight is being taken care of by our cute doctor. Sigh, Gan Fall didn't have to, but he did anyway. He is a good person no matter what.
What are we doing? We are camping. Yep, we went ashore for good ol fashion camp out in a long, big, dangerous forest in the middle of territory where it seems everybody wants us to leave or die. Good diary entry, right?
Why camping? It's fun, but plus we're going treasure hunting tomorrow. There's gold in thar hills and we're going to snag that booty and jump out of here. I'm excited to explore and see exciting new things. Although, we will probably cross paths with every single person with a chip on their shoulder. Even then this is not really our problem, but I think that ship had sailed. The more I think about this Enel guy I don't believe he's a god unless otherwise. He's just a guy with a massive superiority complex.
With a powerful Devil Fruit power, but I think it's lightning from seeing and feeling it firsthand. There's one person here who can possibly beat him and I believe you can guess. No, not me guess again. My womanly intuition tells me it's a logia and unless I have access to rubber on me at all times, I can't take him on.
I am currently gathering material for food with… Robin. Okay I sound a little annoyed, but I'm still on the fence about her. She's been helpful in everything so far. The thing is… there's this air about her. Imagine a barrier that's blocking us from reaching an object. That's her. I think has closed herself off emotionally. I didn't notice it at first, but being in her company gave me this impression. She observes and does not participate in the hijinks as anyone else. She only speaks whenever something interest her or if we speak to her directly.
She also calls us by our… occupation. Nami is Miss Navigator and she calls me Miss Dragoon. I don't know what happened between her first bounty to now, but I do want her to at least open up a little. That way I won't think of her as a slut often. Speaking of which, the only reason I went with her was to try to get to know her. The walk to find supplies is just... quiet. Quick say the first thing that comes to mind.
"I was born with purple hair, never dyed it."
"Oh? I would've thought that was the case." She smiled at me.
"Now you don't know everything."
"I do now."
Ahhh. That hip and cool attitude of her is infuriating… wait that's not hip nor cool. It's just... sarcasm?
"Okay then, and I still don't know what D means. I never did care about it. A few people have asked me and I said the same thing I said to you when you first asked."
"You're still not curious."
"Not really. Master told me anyone with D always brings a storm. Potentially I can cause a ruckus."
"Or a change."
I hummed at the word change. Change can be good. "Master told me I could become the Pirate Queen if I don't want to be with my brother. I don't want to compete with him."
"Why?"
"Because then Luffy and I would be rivals. I rather be with him than against him, besides I rather find the ancient Dragoon Order. Maybe there I can find secrets and such."
"I am an archeologist."
I snapped my fingers as if she came across a great idea. "I forgot about that. When I find the order you can help me decipher strange languages and locate missing pieces of the past."
"If there is history hidden from the world then it is my duty to uncover it and show it to the eyes of the world. Whether they want to or not."
Ah, there it is. Her guard lowered with the mention of history, lost facts, and other nerdy stuff. There was spark in her eye and passion in her voice when thinking about acquiring such knowledge. I wonder... when Master showed me a picture of Robin as a girl she told me there used to be an island of scholars. It's no longer on the world map anymore. The government somehow wiped it out. It was called Ohara. Why? Because they're evil."
"Look." I was snapped out of my thoughts at her voice. I looked to where she pointed.
We were by the shore and around us were a bunch of rocks. However, upon closer inspection, some of them were blue and sparkly. They looked pretty, almost like...
"Are those crystals!" I asked in an excitable tone.
"No." My mood deflated at her answer. "It's Crystalized Salt."
"Aw." I sighed. "I guess we can some for the meal."
"We found what we're looking for."
After getting it, we walked back to the camp. Upon arriving, Nami mistook it for a gemstone and was corrected quickly. We got all the ingredients and tossed them in the cooking pot where it was heated by a boulder. Sanji called it Scorched Stone Soup. I bet it tasted better than the name. Waiting for food to be ready can boring, so it was time to entertain myself. I spotted Zoro sitting off to the side. I calmly approaching him and sat next to him.
"Are you pouting because Sanji was using your swords."
"They're made for combat not for cooking."
"Sure, but I pretty sure if you were goaded into making clean slice through a cabbage in order to test your strength you would do it right?"
"… no."
"Yes, you would." I teased him. "I can totally see it." I poked him in the head. "See you're flustered before giving into the challenge."
"I don't get flustered." Zoro growled as he pushed my arm away.
"Yeah, sure." I smiled at him. "I'm glad you're all okay."
"Same, you sampled of what the island can bring to us."
"A bunch new mysterious abilities we never seen before, check."
"Gives it more of challenge." He smirked.
"We have to be careful. Dumpling Man was easily flustered, who knows about the others."
"Then there was that massive energy attack. That was Enel too?"
"Yes," I looked across to the cooking pot. I brought my legs up to my chest and wrapped my arms around them. The thought of fighting someone who can phase through your best attacks didn't bring comfort. "He might be a logia."
"Great," He sounded annoyed at the thought. "That's a problem."
"Not if we have a solution." I smiled. "And I think we need to acquire some Seastone if we're going to face a logia."
"Luffy countered Crocodile with blood and water. What can we counter against this guy?"
"Luffy."
"Hmm?" He looked at me peculiarly.
"It's a hunch, but if I'm right then he's a perfect match."
Zoro gazed at me, turned toward my brother, then back at me. "If you say so."
"Hopefully." I gazed at him. "I also think we're going to be dragged into this civil war happening here."
"If they try to drag us in their issues then we have a right to defend ourselves."
"True."
I stared at the cooking pot for a while. A thought suddenly came to my mind. I never asked him this before but.
"What made you want to use a sword and not an axe?"
He looked at me for a solid minute and chuckled. I scoffed and turned away.
"That wasn't a joke?"
"No, it was serious question."
"Honestly," His eyes now lingered on the pot. "There was a dojo where one can be trained into the way of the sword. So, I thought, 'Why not' and went along with it."
"Went along with it." I giggled. "You could've wielded a spear... or three spears."
"No, being strong was something I wanted and I needed a clear goal other than being the strongest. So being the strongest swordsman was a goal I wanted to follow."
"That sounds cool. There are a ton of swordsman. You're aware of Mihawk, but there is someone named Vistas of the Flower Swords, he's the 5th division commander of the Whitebeard pirates."
"Vistas." He smirked. "I'll remember him."
I nodded. "Too many people out there that are strong."
"What made you want to wield a spear?"
I blinked and smiled. "Gramps believed I would grow in strength under a different tutor so he called on Master."
"How does a bounty hunter become friendly with a marine?"
"The way she described it sounds like they're in debt to each other."
"Hm, must've been a hell of a fight."
"Gold Roger was with them. No, it wasn't to capture him, it was something else that took all three of them to handle."
"Again, must've been a hell of a fight"
I giggled at his answer. Our time ended when Nami calling us over to discuss our adventure tomorrow, plus food was ready. Night approached as we ate a delicious meal and talked what we know so far.
Nami furled up her paper. "Here is what we know. Norland's book stated he first discovered the Golden City 400 years ago, then the city vanished when he tried to return."
"We're here on the missing part of Jaya." Said Robin. "Pressure from the earth must've produced a geyser strong to propel this chunk of the island to air. The 'Knock Up' stream."
"It's a guess." said Sanji as he was serving. "Cricket did say 'Knock Up' stream changes location each time."
"I guess the size of the stream at the time was rare." Said Usopp.
"Imagine every island rising to sky." I said. "That would be fun and terrifying. Each person would have to adapt."
"I noticed the forest are different between here and Jaya. That can't be because of adapting, right?"
"Possibly from the strange substance in the Sea Clouds. That would explain the growth rate of plants and animals. The theory can justify the ruins that were swallowed by the forest."
We talked more about the island and the treasure. Chopper-kun mentioned a big South Bird saved him from one of the priests and called Gan Fall a god. Which lead Luffy to think he had to beat him. Oh Luffy. We also learned that Norland mentioned a bell made of gold which was hidden in the right of eye of a skull
This gave our navigator an ideal to combine the map we got from Jaya with the ancient map. Viola, a skull shaped island. Not creepy at all.
The destination. Find the skull's right eye and we got our treasure. We're heading there tomorrow and splitting into two groups. Oh and we finished the meal.
"It's getting late." Said Robin. "Our location will be revealed to the enemy if we don't put the fire out."
Luffy and Usopp looked at each other and back Robin. They both gave her condescending looks. "Hear that Usopp? She wants the fire out."
"Luffy, don't say that. She's been living in the darkness for so long that can't see the light."
"You're right, but I do feel he words pierced my heart."
"I do to."
Robin seemed confused "Um… am missing something."
I smiled as they pointed at her dramatically as any good theater actor would.
"The lighting from the campfire is the only way to live outdoors." Shouted Luffy.
"It's the way of life to have a campfire while camping at night. Even if we die we must have a campfire."
"You're confusing her."
"Anya remember our nights with Ace and Sabo at the campfire?"
"Yes." I smiled fondly. "Those were great nights." I suddenly felt the passion. The passion for a campfire. A friend from long ago that I forgotten. That friend is about to be reborn. "Then we have it."
"No," Nami marched over to us. "Are you kidding me? You know very well how dangerous this forest is. We have the priest, those guerrillas, beasts, and monsters. They are all out there and waiting to devour a cute girl like me."
"Hey, Luffy!" I heard Zoro yell. I turned around, immediately laughed out loud at seeing him and Sanji had brought a bunch of wood stacked up to create a bonfire. Nami wasn't happy.
"Do you realize what kind of dangers you will bring us."
Sanji smile calmly at her. "It's okay Nami-swan." He said as he held up a flamed torch. "Beasts are afraid of fire."
As if on cue, multiple pairs of eyes manifested from the darkness of the forest.
"Look behind you! There's something there!"
Usopp and Chopper screamed as an adorable wolf with a badass scar across its right eye appeared and walked up next to Sanji. It grunted and barked and growl. I think it's trying to talk.
"Chopper, come here and try to translate."
Chopper then imitated the Wolf's tone, mannerism, and posture. Both of them gave me the feeling of an alpha showing why they are all that. It's so CUTE!
"You outsiders are being too damn loud! Silence, you dumbasses!"
"WHAT WAS THAT!?" Luffy and Sanji shouted at Chopper. I jumped up and punched both of them in the back of the head.
"He's translating! Don't touch him while he's translating. Got it!"
Both of them looked up at me. Luffy in fear and Sanji in love. "Yes ma'am."
The wolf heighten its glare. "Are you bastards thinking about trashing our turf?"
Chopper frowned shook his head. "No, we were brought here against our will."
"This is our land! You don't have permission to cook here!" translated Chopper. "This is our land, the forest, the trees, the oc-."
Nami came over and bashed the wolf over.
"Nami!" I scolded. "You hurt him, he's a good boy."
"No good boy will keep us from our treasure!"
I pouted at her and turned my attention at the rest of the pack. The mere fact of Alpha being attacked did not sit well with them. They were ready to strike. However, the Alpha picked himself up and growled at his pack.
"Enough." Chopper continued with his translation. "Forget it. You lot ain't no match for them." The wolf rubbed his snout with his paw and smirked at Nami. "Girlie! You got a mean punch. You good. I like ya."
Nami and Alpha stared at each other with… great… respect. Wait. No.. no no no no. Come on!? Why? Why did she become an honorary member and not me.
"Nami!" I whined at her as tears pour from my eyes. "You stole my dream!"
"Your dream is to be a wolf?" asked Zoro.
"I want to be Queen of the animal kingdom!"
"What about the finding the lost order."
"And wasn't there about commanding a Martial Arts Master Animals?" questioned Usopp. "Those were your exact words when you wanted to command the Dugong
"That too!" I clenched my fist with passion. "However, there is one requirement. There is a Devil Fruit out there that lets you talk to animals. That's only one I want to eat. If eat that I am one step closer to my dream realized."
Nami chuckled. "Oh Anya." She gazed at me with a cruel grin. "Sometimes dreams are meant to be broken." She laughed at in an evil tone. To add insult to injury the wolves joined her in the laughing. This is a bad dream. The wolves are laughing at me. Why? That's just a sick joke.
"Alright!" My brother shouted. "It's time to party!"
After short while, my mood was lifted. I didn't rule the wolves, but I get to dance with wolves. We bogeyed around the campfire while howling at the moon. It wasn't just some party. It was a pre-show to pump ourselves for the main event. Hunting treasure. We chanted gold a bunch of times as a means of psyching each other up. I bet we looked like a crazed group with wolves at our beck and call. Ha ha ha!
Something caught my eye and I looked over to see Gan Fall sitting where Zoro is. I debated whether or not to sit in and join, but I waved at him. We danced the night away until it was time to sleep. We put out the fire and the wolves departed. As they were leaving, they saluted us by howling. We're family now. Yes! Also, there was something that Gan Fall told the others and Robin told me after the party went down.
This place we are in is a section of Jaya, that is true. However, to sky island inhabitants it's a holy land. This basically means they don't get dirt up here and it's treated as scarce. We get it abundant down below, but here it's more rare, valuable. They called it Vearth. I think it short for Valuable Earth, but whatever.
All this time the Shandia have been fighting for their freedom and their land for centuries while the sky people fought to claim it for themselves. I don't blame the Shandia. It's just one group discovering something and claiming it for themselves because they are better.
Again, it's not our place to butt in. We just want to explore and get treasure.
After that we went to sleep.
Come morning we got up and refreshed ourselves. Usopp came yelling at us to come to the ship. The way he was acting, someone must've made it into debris by now. We rushed to the ship and lo and behold... It was repaired.
I mean it wasn't in tip top shape, but it seemed as if someone came along in the middle of the night and repaired it to the best they can. They even fixed the mast. Usopp said he saw someone fixing the ship last night. That's nice of them I suppose.
"Whoever did this either did so out of the kindness of their hearts or wants us to leave." Said Sanji.
"It's not too terrible." Nami said as she looked at the mast. "We're ready to depart as soon as we can."
"I thought it was ghost."
"Someone in this island fixed up ship and left without any reward?" Zoro hummed. "We're on an island with multiple forces threatening us. The indication is clear."
"That they want us to leave after we claim victory." I chimed in. "I agree we do need to explore and return as the victors."
"Not quite
"They didn't fix the wings." Luffy looked around.
"But…" Usopp pondered. "They don't know the ship's original form; how could they have possibly known Merry didn't need wings."
"We'll ponder that later Usopp." Luffy patted him on the back. "They were nice to help us, maybe there are still some good people left in this world." He walked away. "Right now, it's time to explore the island."
Nami nodded. "Alright, we have a mission. We'll split into two teams. The escape team and the explorers."
We moved the ship off the pedestal and into the water. After that we gathered around Nami who was making the plans. I was with the explorers. Luffy, Zoro, Chopper, Robin and I were charged with getting the gold. The Escape group will navigate to the shore. Both teams will meet and then leave. Great plan, right? Good
"Let's go!" Luffy shouted as the five of us trekked across the land. I had a change of clothes from last time. There's going to be a fight, so I'm prepared for combat. I got my spear and shield. Clothing for hiking instead of swimming. A yellow tank top, capri pants, and boots. Also, I'm wearing a violet bandana on my head and a nap sack for supplies.
Soon after we left the ship, Luffy and Zoro argued about what direction to take. Unfortunately, they are both directionally challenged and were thinking their way was the correct way. Robin told them they were both wrong. After that mishap, we now found ourselves walking through the forest.
"This forest doesn't seem so bad when you look at it. I shouldn't have been worried at all."
"Feeling brave Chopper." I asked
"Yep, haha." He's such as cutie.
"It's disappointing." Said Zoro. "Nothing is happening right now. Yesterday was uneventful and we didn't see a priest you both described. So, I can relate to Chopper."
"I don't think you and he clicked." I said.
"If they don't bother us, then it doesn't matter." Said my brother. "We're looking for treasure. If the fight comes then we will send them all flying."
"A bunch of partners to take to a ho down." I smirked
"What's a ho down." Asked the doctor
"It involves dancing, but a more…. wild and sandy feel to it."
"You can dance around them while I will cut." Smirked the swordsman.
"Do you really want something bad to happen?" asked Robin in a humorous tone.
"Bad?" Luffy pondered. "It's not bad, it's just… adventuring has to be fun, dangerous, and thrills. If nothing exciting happens, then it's a dull adventure."
"Tssraaaaaaa!"
In front of us was fun, dangerous, and thrills aka a giant snake!
"SNAAAAAKE!" screamed Chopper
"Amazing!" awed Luffy "We better run!"
"It's that time of day for a chase." I smirked
"Could the atmosphere caused it be this large?" Robin analyzed the snake.
Zoro reached for his katana to ready to cut. "I'll it in half if it tries anything."
Much to our surprise this giant serpent bolted towards us like lightning. We dodged the initial attack quickly and saw it bite into a tree. My eyes widen as the tree started to sizzle from the bite. That… was that poison? It's a poisonous snake, or is it acid? No we can't fight. We have to go.
The snake whipped around and began attacking us. We had to evade it because poison sucks. It was crazy. We ran and ran until it seemed like the snake was far in the distance. I don't know how far and how long we traveled, but I think the close was clear.
"Man, that was insane. Do we…" I looked around and my words faltered. I was alone, the snake attack must've separated us. I don't want to go back because of the snake, but I also don't know where to go. It's Little Garden all over again, but this time it was against my will.
"I guess I'm on my own again." I said to no one. There was nothing I could do... oh well. I shrugged and walked away. A recent memory came to mind from my master.
"Brat, if you're lost. Remember this. Look for moss on the trees and if all else fails keep going straight. You'll find it eventually. Heck, if you're anything like your grandpa things will come to you whether you want it or not."
But… never said what to do when I see the moss on a tree. That crazy old hag taught me a lot of things, but her sense of direction was subpar. Not at bad as Zoro's… Somehow, she is a good navigator, especially on the blues.
A long time into my hike I heard what appeared to be a battle then a body was throw down near me. It looked like one of those angel people, a man. He was about to get up, but another figure dropped on him like an anvil and knocked him. It was woman, a Shandia. She was tan just like the rest of them and had black air and tribal clothing, but with dial-based weapons. She growled at the man, then looked up at me. She looked surprised at my appearance.
"You."
"Yes?"
"You're one of the blue sea people."
"Yes."
She narrowed her eyes at me. "Wyper told you to leave."
"Yes."
"I'm giving you a chance to leave."
"I mean you no harm." I raised my hands up. "Look, me and my friends just want to explore the island. What's happening here has no business with us."
"You're still trespassing on land meant for us."
"I heard the story. This land came here from the blue seas and now you're all in a civil war over it. I understand, but..."
"If you understand you know you are not welcomed." She raised what looked to be a baton. "Turn around and leave."
She's angry. Clearly her people have been fighting for centuries. If I attacked her then I wouldn't be different than those guys."
"I… I'm lost."
She narrowed her eyes. "Then go..."
"HA!"
The woman turned around to receive a punch in the first from another woman. This time the girl had the angel civilian's gear. The hit sent the tribal girl across ground and into a tree. The tan girl grunted and looked up at her foe. "You."
"Yes." The angel girl spoke. "You are about die for God Enel."
"No, you are in the way of our freedom."
"Freedom from this life. You and your lot are nothing, but a blight for his vision."
The woman growled. "Shut up!"
It feels like I'm in a soap opera.
The angel like woman turned to me and smirked. "Ah, a woman from the blue sea."
"My name is Anya." I greeted. "It's customary to learn the names of the people who attack you."
She smirked. "You're one of the ones that defeated Priest Satori. Good job."
"You?" The tan woman gasped at me. "There was a rumor."
"Anya, is it?" The woman smirked. "Allow me to introduce myself. I'm training to someday take over the trial of iron. My mantra isn't perfect yet, but I am still strong. Rikku, priestess in training."
"Oh." I smirked. "Can I go?"
"No, as soon as you defeated a priest you earned the great Enel's wrath, that means you earned our wrath."
"Tell me something?" I said, knowing this would piss her off, but. "Is this Enel guy really a god?"
Something clicked in her, cause her to glare at me with hatred. "YOU DARE QUESTION HIS MAJESTY?!"
"Oh…. you ARE in a cult."
"HOW DARE YOU SAY SUCH! SUCH! Oh, you make me so mad. You ungrateful whore!" She whipped out a pair of tonfas "I'll make sure you beg for mercy."
I took out my spear. "I'm a whore? You look like you would sell your body.""
"If he wants to."
I scoffed. "Then he is faker."
Ohh now she's really mad. If looks could kill, then I would be dead. She charged me at me with tonfas ready. She told me her mantra wasn't perfect, so she wasn't as good as Dumpling Man. She seemed to also be the type to be quick to anger. Could I use that to my advantage?
Unfortunately, she moved too fast for my liking. She sped to the side and rushed at me by holding both tonfas forward. I maneuvered frantically and quickly as I dodged. Huh, she has those rocket skates. Okay, now I know what to watch out for. I watched her quickly jump from tree trunk to tree trunk. She was too fast for my liking. Almost like laughing boy, but she's been doing this longer and more competent.
"Burning Strike!"
I gasped while dodging what was maybe a heat-based attack, unfortunately she whirled again and slammed into me. I yelled after feeling the burn and pain. She finished her assault as she kicked me across the face, sending me flying away.
I regained my balance and landed on my feet. I groaned at the burn and the hard kick. I looked up at her as she twirled her tonfas.
"Hmm." She seemed disappointed. "Most would fall before my might. You're more capable than I thought."
I smirked at her. "Well, let's get serious shall we."
Anya put her shield away and twirled her weapon. She held the weapon with both hands and started to sway her hips. What followed was her moving right and left while she bobbed her shoulders.
Kari scowled at the woman. "What are you doing?"
"Dancing."
"You dance in fight? Blue sea people are weird."
The violet haired girl rolled her eyes. "Honey, dancing is another form of fighting. I'm sorry someone as highly as you can't understand my raw and refined skills."
"You mock me?"
"Yes."
Kari held out both ends of the tonfas and clicked a button. This time fire balls were launched from them. Anya was surprised at first, however she gracefully spun her body delicately, moving away from them. She stopped and watched as the woman came at her again. Anya jumped quickly over the girl and landed on the ground. Immediately after landing Anya took out her shield, spun and tossed it at the woman.
Kari skated away and leapt in the air to avoid the shield. "You missed." She pressed a button on her tonfas again and fire ignited from the ends of both tonfas. She leapt forward and immediately spun around like flaming wheel. The wheel of fire roared itself toward the woman
"Crap!" shouted the girl as she moved away from the woman before getting hit. The girl spun and looked up at the woman who came out of her attack. Kari stood up and glared at the spear user with a bold smile on her face, despite her clothes singed and part of her hair on fire.
"Interesting."
"Um… you're on fire."
"My fire burns with passion for the great one."
"Riiight." Anya sighed. "You are fire and I'm going to put you out."
"And how are you going to do that?"
The dragoon smirked. "Won't know until I try." She tapped her spear on the ground. "I'm not going down."
"Hmph, you are an interesting girl. I'll be sure to honor you by writing your name in my room of vanquished foes."
"Monkey D. Anya, but I'm not going down. I'm here to explore and find my friends. You tell your boss he can't defeat my brother."
"Your brother? Defeat Enel?" She laughed. "How can such a lowly Blue Sea boy do that?"
"I'm his sister." The violet woman squatted. "Family know best."
"Then your faith in your brother pales in my faith." She let loose more fire balls. "You will fall!"
The dragoon squeaked as she jumped away and performed stunts in order to dodge the fire balls. The girl made a long stretch of leap from tree to tree to avoid the warrior. She jumped up and hid behind a tree. At the rate she was going the whole forest will be burnt.
Anya glanced over to see the woman looking around for her.
"Those dials are pretty cool if they weren't being used against me." She tapped her foot. "Has she been using her Mantra?" She crossed her arms. "I need to be faster to get closer or…" The girl smiled. "Time to become the hunter."
Kari walked through the terrain looking for the pirate. "Where are you little girl?" She shouted.
She heard a noise and whirled around with her tonfas ready. Nothing. Not a sign.
"Hehehe."
Laughter echoed the forest. Something that did not unnerve her... maybe a little. "I know that's you."
"Caw caw!"
"That's poor imitation of a bird."
"Hmm hmm hmmmmm."
The woman whipped around and launched herself at where she thought was Anya's voice. She slammed the tonfa into the bush… nothing.
"Where are you whore?"
"Hmm hmm hmmmmm."
She whipped around and launched fire balls. Nothing.
"Come out!" She yelled
She whipped around to aim, then yelped as a spear shot toward her in blinding speed. Unfortunately, she was too slow to move as the spear cut across her side. She yelled in pain and grabbed the wounded area
"Ahhh." She glanced at the wound and winced at how much pain she was in. She shook her head. She heard a noise and looked up in time to see the girl dropping toward her while spinning.
"Morning Capoeira!" The violet haired girl delivered a powerful spin kick that collided with the woman's face, sending her flying back and into tree. After colliding into a tree the woman collapsed on her knees and fell face forward, unconscious.
Anya stood back up and glanced at the fallen warrior. She took a deep breath and sighed. "Glad that worked." Anya walked toward the tree where her spear was lodged and pulled it out. She turned around, blinked and leapt away from her shield flying by, then dodged a punch from the tribal woman. The violet haired girl faced the Shandia woman with narrowed eyes.
"So, I guess it is a free for all."
"I will fight you." She took out her blade and aimed it at Anya. "My name is Aponi and you are Anya is it? You are in the way."
"Of what?"
"You don't belong here and you got in the way of my fight."
"She attacked me."
"I could've handled her."
Anya frowned at the woman. "I don't doubt that, you look strong."
"Then you have to die right here."
"I'm not planning to go down here." Anya aimed her spear. "Besides aren't you fighting them for your territory?"
"You could also steal it."
"I understand your mistrust, but my crew is not like that. We're here to find ancient treasure."
"Hn, to steal then."
"I… guess?"
CLING
Anya blocked with her spear from the dagger. "And we're also in trouble with this Enel guy. We beat one of the priest and he too is gunning for us." The girl's eye widen as an idea popped up. "We should team up."
"Why?"
"Because why not go after a common foe and once he's out of the way we can either be friends or have a rematch. Come on why fight tired when we can both be 100%."
"Fool, many of our warriors tried. We found something that could work on him and only Wiper is capable of using it."
"Something huh?" Anya thought it might be seastone. "This Enel guy, what element does he use."
"He commands lighting to fall from the sky!" She yelled out. "With that and his mantra we know he's too strong. So, our plan has to work."
"As I thought." Anya was not particularly happy of the revelation. Despite that a smile curled up on her face. "Then I have some news for you. There is another here who can beat him if your plan fails."
"What?" Aponi's glare hardened. "Are you telling me there is someone out there capable of defeating him?"
"Please." Anya laughed. "Down in the Blue seas there are many people who can take him on, but that's if he goes there. I'm talking about right here, right now and most likely in battle with people here."
"Who is this person?"
"My brother." Anya jumped away and brought down her spear. "He's the captain of the crew. His name is Monkey D. Luffy."
"What does your brother have that can help?"
"Come with me and you might find out."
Aponi eyes widen in surprise. "What? Why should I follow you? Why should I trust you?"
"You have to take a risk. Don't you want to see something spectacular." Anya gave her a smirk. "A fight between the Monkey King and a Lightning Faker?"
