The next morning, Severus woke before dawn as he blinked his dark eyes open.
His black gaze scanned over Lily while she lay peacefully asleep.
Severus could still see the hint of a blush that covered her cheeks from the intensity of their previous night.
He gently combed a single strand of her crimson hair to the side as he frowned at her in rapt admiration.
The hours he had spent making love to his omega had not been enough for Severus.
His love for Lily, his refusal to accept that Harriet had started to grow up, and his anger that Draco had chosen to linger at her bedside like an oily rat hoping for a scrap of food, it all forced Severus's body to tingle with nervous tension.
His hurricane of feelings had been expressed through dominating his mate the previous night, but as he propped himself up in bed and looked at Lily, he hungered for any level of affection from his wife he could possibly get to ease his raging instincts that morning.
Anything would have been welcome, a kiss, an embrace, a gentle touch…….
Fear began to mount in Severus's mind as he wondered how long his bride would sleep.
As his dark gaze flickered over Lily again, he paused to worry about how she would feel when she woke.
He mentally took stock of the potions he had readily available in the house.
Severus decided that he could give her a dose of Calming Tonic or Pain Potion if she woke miserably sore.
A part of him felt ashamed.
Severus had been too rough with his flower in his haste the previous night.
A part of him felt satisfied.
When Severus had tried to be gentle with his wife, she had begged him for more.
What would any alpha have done if their omega screamed out for them to pull their hair and please them?
Severus had never been able to deny his beloved flower any request~.
As he delved further into his own ponderings, his musings ended unexpectedly as Lily sighed softly and began to wriggle in the sheets.
Severus drew an anticipatory breath of repressed excitement as he listened to the gentle sigh that escaped her lips in the seconds before her emerald eyes opened.
She blinked for a moment before her stare focused on her husband.
As Severus watched a happy smile curl Lily's lips after she recognized him, he felt that if he died in that moment, he would go to his grave with the satisfaction that his life had been complete.
"Good morning, Sev." Lily greeted her husband as she placed a hand over her mouth and yawned.
"Good morning, my love." Severus replied as he leaned in for a kiss as soon as Lily pulled her hand away.
"You're up early, aren't you?" Lily asked as she yawned again, "I thought you'd be exhausted after last night."
Severus ignored her question and asked in urgent concern, "Do you have any aches, Lily?...Pains?...Soreness? I can offer you a remedy, you know…….Don't hide your suffering from me, my love. I know my affections last night were less than considerate."
"Suffering?" Lily asked with an amused grin as she looked at her mate, "I should hardly think that I'm suffering after last night, Sev. You were lovely."
"I didn't hurt you?" Severus asked with a hopeful frown.
"No, you pleased me." Lily corrected him with a happy smile, "You did exactly as I asked……..it felt amazing, really, it did, Sev. I slept like a baby afterwards."
Severus stared at her for a moment until Lily asked, "...Did you not?"
"I rested." He nodded.
"But not enough." Lily concluded with a disappointed frown, "Come here, then...it's early, we've got time. Let me help you sleep."
Severus didn't feel like sleeping.
He felt like worrying and brooding as he fretted over a list of matters, from Lily's pleasure to Harriet's maturity, but Mrs. Snape knew just how to calm her alpha.
Severus and Lily's affection was always meaningful, although it did not have to be defined purely by physical lovemaking.
Lily pulled Severus down to her and planted a sweet, gentle kiss on his lips to calm his anxious heart.
When she felt Severus relax a bit as he returned her kiss, she moved the covers around them to ripple the sheets like a rolling ocean wave.
Severus shivered at the gush of unwelcome, cold air at first, but he melted into the unbelievably delicious sensation of being sandwiched between the warmth their bodies had created on the blankets and the feeling of Lily's heated skin pressed against him.
Severus surrendered his mental burden.
He took respite in the knowledge that Lily remained unharmed as she guided his head down to her chest as he pulled away from their kiss.
When Severus nuzzled the soft top of her cleavage, Lily smiled knowingly and slipped the strap of her nightgown over her shoulder.
She let a quiet sound escape her throat as she let her alpha help himself to one of her plump breasts while his hand cupped the soft curve as his lips wrapped around its rosy peak.
Lily's eyes grew heavy as the steady rhythm of Severus's gentle suckling eased her back into drowsiness.
Moments later, her green eyes fluttered closed moments before the tranquil sensation of Severus feeding on her ceased.
Lily slept on her back with her arms wrapped around her mate.
Severus received his most pleasant rest of the entire night as he lay with his mate's breasts squished against his cheek while he held her close.
They only slumbered for an hour before Oliver, Brendan, and Draven woke them, but it was a truly blissful hour for Mr. and Mrs. Snape, indeed.

At Hogwarts' castle, Harriet woke up that morning feeling much better.
Madam Pomfrey's skillful care had healed her completely from her sprain and the discomforts of her feminine condition.
Harriet sat up to dress and leave the Hospital Wing, but as she put her glasses on her face, her eyes widened when she noticed Draco lying in the bed next to hers.
A part of her wanted to flee as quickly as possible, but a larger part was profoundly curious.
Harriet found it difficult to believe that her enemy had inexplicably shown up at her bedside the previous day and then…...allowed himself to be placed near her?
……...In a largely vacated infirmary?
Determined to find out more about the confusing situation, Harriet silently took her glasses off, laid back in bed, and pulled the covers up to her neck.
Madam Pomfrey would be making her rounds soon.
Harriet hoped then that she may unwittingly gain some answers.

Draco opened his grey eyes and blinked up at the stone ceiling.
He rolled over to stare at Harriet for a long moment with a dreaminess in his frigid, grey gaze.
In the stillness of the morning, Harriet and Draco were practically alone in their little corner of the Hospital Wing.
Madam Pomfrey could see them from where she stood across the room while she treated a student with a rash, but she was well out of ear shot and Draco knew it.
"Good morning, Snape." He whispered to Harriet.
Although Harriet laid fully awake and heard him perfectly, she kept her eyes closed as she pretended to sleep.
"I hope you rested well, darling." Draco whispered to her sweetly.
Harriet had to force her eyes not to pop open in shock.
"I can't believe I actually spent the night next to you." He smiled softly.
Harriet's heart skipped a disbelieving beat.
"I'm sorry that things have to be this way…...Wait and see though, I'll outdo Tom Riddle. He's nothing but a bully and a villain…...He'll hurt you, Snape, but I won't…...You don't have to worry about anyone hurting you as long as you're with me." Draco went on.
Harriet kept her eyes closed but she could hear the smile in his voice.
"I suppose, from what's happened, you'll start your cycles soon." Draco commented, "You'll be an omega and I'll be an alpha…...I just hope it's me you choose, not him. Not him, Snape, you have to believe me…..it would be the biggest mistake of your life!" He finished in a low, pleading hiss.
Harriet forced herself to remain silent and lay still as her chest continued to rise and fall with steady breaths.
"Tom Riddle could never love you the way I do." Draco whispered as Harriet heard him move to sit up in his bed, "Do you think he would ever be devoted enough to write to you every night in a diary?"
Harriet resisted the urge to open her eyes and scream.
She wondered how much longer she could contain her own dismayed, disbelieving shock as she heard a cart's metallic rattle while Madam Pomfrey walked over to the beds that held her and Draco.
"Mr. Malfoy!" Harriet heard Madam Pomfrey snap, "You can go! I never did manage to find anything wrong with you! Let me know if the pain returns but for the time being at least, its cause remains unknown!"
"Right, Madam Pomfrey, of course." Draco nodded.
Harriet heard the swishing of a curtain as Madam Pomfrey gave Draco the privacy of a makeshift dressing room to change out of his pajamas.
She heard the healer walk away while Draco walked over and collected his school robe from the foot of the bed.
Harriet could feel his breath on her face as he stepped over, bent towards her, and whispered, "...I love you, Snape."
Harriet felt the lightest of touches as Draco quickly brushed his lips against her cheek before he straightened his back and walked out of the Hospital Wing.
Once he had gone, she opened her eyes wide with a gasp of exasperation.
Harriet sat in numb shock until Madam Pomfrey eventually approached her bed with the cart.
Her mind raced as quickly as her pulse while she tried to process what she had heard Draco Malfoy confess.
As Madam Pomfrey made it to Harriet's bedside, she placed a hand on her chest and exclaimed, "Goodness, Miss Snape! Look how red your cheeks are! I'll have to check you for a fever immediately!"
Harriet barely heard Madam Pomfrey that morning.
Her thoughts had been consumed by more pressing matters.
