"You seem sad, Sev." Lily mentioned one morning while she and Severus enjoyed a quiet moment together during their early breakfast.
Draven, Brendan, and Oliver had yet to wake.
As the sun rose outside, Mr. and Mrs. Snape sat holding hands as they enjoyed their simple meal of bacon and pancakes.
"The seventh year students completed their first potions essay on Monday." Severus explained to Lily, "Nine more similar assignments will come before the end of the academic term."
Lily blinked at her alpha while she listened.
Severus raised his dark eyes to meet her emerald gaze as he sighed and lamented, "I'll only receive nine more potions essays from my daughter before she leaves my classroom forever."
"Oh, Sev….." Lily said with a frown as she stroked the back of her alpha's hand with her soft fingertips.
"You'll have Albus in class for many more years after Harriet, sweetheart." She cooed as she released Severus's hand and gently moved a strand of his black hair out of his face, "...And then the boys will follow him."
Severus kept his frown as he stared at Lily with a heavy sadness in his dark eyes.
She giggled quietly as she leaned over and pressed a sweet, loving kiss to his lips.
Lily had planned to pull away and make their exchange brief, but Severus surprised her by placing one hand on her face and deepening their affection.
A needy whimper escaped her throat as Severus ran his tongue along her lips in a silent request for entrance.
Lily obeyed without a second thought as she parted for her alpha and let him enjoy the pleasures of exploring her mouth.
Breakfast became forgotten as the tension between them crescendoed.
In the throes of their passionate kiss, Lily sensed a yearning in her mate that extended beyond the desires of simple lovemaking.
She wrestled out of Severus's grasp by nipping his lower lip gently with her teeth, an action that sent an unwelcome throb of arousal shooting through his groin as he scowled at her after she pulled away.
"Sev…….?" Lily asked in a breathless gasp while she combed a hand through her tousled, scarlet tresses.
"...Yes?" He answered in a restrained whisper.
Lily knew well enough that her husband possessed a voice as rich as chocolate and smooth as velvet, but the husky undertone of hungry alpha dominance that rumbled from his chest as he stared at her with his black eyes smouldering made Lily want to leap from her seat and indulge her primitive urges.
As she listened to the startling silence in the house while their sons continued to sleep, a wicked smirk crossed her fair face.
Severus noticed his wife's confident look of assurance as she rose from her chair.
He swallowed thickly while he watched her walk over and seat herself on his lap.
The grin she wore, coupled with the frothy layers of sheer lace and delicate silk that floated around her curves made Severus want to groan as his darling indulged herself and found a new seat in his lap.
Severus and Lily took a moment to stare into each other's eyes as his arousal rubbed enticingly against her inner thigh while she rocked her hips temptingly.
"Tell me the truth, Sev……." Lily began with a playful sigh as she gently touched her lover's face once more.
Severus relished the tender contact and Lily knew it.
He closed his eyes for a brief second as she swept her thumb over his cheek before she whispered, "I can't bear to see you like this, love……Would it ease your sadness if I…..."
Lily's voice trailed off but Severus's dark eyes popped wide open as he inferred where his wife's thought process would lead.
"...Give you another daughter?" Lily grinned.
She kept a close watch on her alpha's awestruck facial expression as she began to unbutton his heavy, dark robes.
"Lily………" Severus whispered as she bent her head and placed hot, wet kisses at the base of his exposed throat.
"Lily……." He gasped as she showed the audacity of moving down his chest while she curled around him.
The pressing girth of his obvious arousal was unignorable.
As Severus detected the undeniable scent of want from his mate, he pulled his wand from his pocket and cast a hasty cloaking charm with a silencing enchantment around their small dining room.
On the rare chance that the boys woke early and ventured downstairs, the last thing Severus wanted his sons to see was what he would be doing to their mother.
He laid his wand on the table before his hands wound around Lily's creamy thighs as she pulled him closer and reached between them to claw at the opening of his trousers.
Lily moved to place her full breasts directly in Severus's face as they leered at him from the lacy confines of her nightgown's bustier.
The couple didn't take the time to undress as the emotion of the moment sent them into a frenzied rush.
Severus pushed his chair back as Lily wrapped her legs around him while he stood with her in his arms.
The plates were roughly pushed out of the way as Professor Snape hurriedly laid his mate down on the table and lifted her gossamer skirts.
Severus's strong hands clutched Lily's smooth thighs as he hovered over her and sheathed himself deep within her waiting center.
He enjoyed the blissful look on her face as his fingers dug into her soft flesh once he indulged his urge to thrust.
The dining table rocked and creaked while they coupled furiously on its top.
As he felt the thrumming of approaching bliss creep through every muscle in his body, Severus bent down and placed his forehead against Lily's.
"L-Love you…….." She whispered as her peak began, "OOOOHHHH! SSSEEEEVVV!"
Severus held his beloved bride through their joy, with their hands still clenched tightly together.
He growled during his own release as he kissed his wife's sweet lips.
Lily couldn't help the satisfied giggle that escaped her throat as Severus sought to wedge himself into her more deeply while he filled her.
It greatly amused Mrs. Snape that her husband had decided to answer her question with actions instead of words.

While Severus and Lily continued to enjoy their mated bond, Harriet wandered through the first weeks of her seventh year at Hogwarts wondering what that must be like.
Most of her classmates had presented, including her friends and enemies, and many had already made the arrangements to mate after graduation.
Hermione and Ron had become a happy omega/alpha couple.
Neville was a beta.
Draco, like his rival, Tom Riddle, had both come out as alphas, but Harriet felt like she had been left behind.
While her peers all discussed contraceptive potions and heat cycles, she had nothing to contribute to such conversations.
As the days passed, Harriet's frustration grew as she wondered when her time would finally come.
However, on an unusually warm October afternoon, she found herself unable to leave the lavatory after lunch.
Swirling bouts of crippling nausea kept her seated on the bathroom floor next to the toilet as her body shook with violent chills.
After an hour of anxious, miserable waiting, she felt the nausea ease into a brutal, all-consuming onslaught of unbearable warmth.
Harriet sat with her spine pressed against the stall as she leaned her sweaty head back in an effort to feel some air on her face.
She stretched her dampened legs out across the bathroom floor as she tried desperately to gain relief from the soothing coolness of the stone tiles.
Dizziness accompanied that awful heat.
After a few terrifying seconds of hopelessly spinning in place, Harriet's sight vanished as her eyes closed.
She slumped over just as footsteps entered the abandoned lavatory.
As Harriet lay unconscious, she didn't hear the stall door open or the low, wicked chuckle that rang out as someone stood over her.
Strong arms reached out and deftly picked her up from the floor.
After the faucet that bore an engraved snake symbol was tapped gently, Tom Riddle grinned to himself in triumph as he carried Harriet down to the Chamber of Secrets.
He had nearly made it there by the time she woke.
Although Harriet had kept her distance from Tom during the last few years, she still considered him handsome and charming.
She blinked up at him in confusion as she asked, "Tom…..? Where are you taking me?"
"Don't worry." Tom replied with a charming smile while they approached the metal door guarded by Salazar Slytherin's metallic snakes, "I'm bringing you to a place where you can nest, omega."
Harriet blushed under Tom's intense gaze, but fear fluttered in her heart as she realized what had happened.
At last, she had presented as an omega.
Harriet Snape had finally gone into heat.

Draco and Harriet hadn't shared more than a few passing flirtations and occasional glances since they had held their discussion years ago.
Regardless, the distance they had kept between them hadn't lessened Draco's feelings for Harriet in the slightest.
Determined to one day expose the truth about his enemy, Draco had kept nearly as close a watch on Tom as he had on Harriet.
He scowled as he sat in Charms class that afternoon and noticed that both Harriet and Tom had seemingly gone missing for some inexplicable reason.
After the lesson itself was over and Professor Flitwick released his students to work on their latest assignment for the remainder of the period, Draco called over to Ron and Hermione with a scowl, "Oi! Weasley! Granger! Where's Snape?"
"Dunno." Ron answered with a shake of his head.
"I haven't seen Harriet since lunch, Malfoy." Hermione frowned, "She mentioned that she wasn't feeling well, but I didn't expect her to be gone this long……She must be really bad off."
Draco scowled at Hermione as he huffed, "In case you haven't noticed, Granger, she's not the only one missing."
Hermione and Ron glanced around for a moment before it occurred to them that Tom Riddle's seat was also empty.
Panic glinted in their eyes as Draco raised his hand and asked, "Professor Flitwick?"
"Yes, Mr. Malfoy?" Professor Flitwick blinked, "What is it?"
"May I use the lavatory, sir? I'm afraid it can't wait." Draco frowned.
"Very well." Professor Flitwick nodded as he gave his approval and gestured towards the door.
Before Hermione and Ron could ask any other questions, Draco leapt to his feet and raced from the room.
As he pounded down the hallway, he wore a determined grimace on his handsome face.
He had done his research on his Hogwarts house and its founder.
Draco had even found more than adequate reason to believe that Tom Riddle may very well have been the heir of Slytherin.
As he rounded the corner and dashed into the empty girls' lavatory that Harriet had occupied only a short while earlier, his eyes narrowed at the opened sink that led to the dark passage below.
He gripped his wand in his hand as he fearlessly jumped down the tunnel and tumbled towards the place he knew his beloved would be.
Draco felt terrified, but he had no time to fear for his own safety, not when Harriet's well-being was at stake.
He dashed down the blackened corridor at the end of the lengthy slide and narrowed his eyes as rage coursed through his veins.
Somehow, someway, he would rescue his darling from Tom Riddle's clutches and finally win her heart.
